VINTAGE CYCLE & MOTORING MAP - LIVERPOOL & N. WALES circa 1920
This is the Liverpool and North Wales sheet of Bacon's"Ever-Ready" Cycling and Motoring waistcoat pocket sized maps in the"Dover Cycle& Motor Originalities" series. Measuring 3.25 x 5.25 inches folded within cloth covers the map itself is cloth mounted and has a scale of approx. 5 miles to 1 inch. Main roads are coloured orange and the sea is tinted blue. Otherwise printing is in black with hills hachured. Wales(including Anglesey) to the north of Machynlleth is included and coverage extends east as far as Wellington and Northwich. The surface of the paper has rubbed along the two horizontal folds with slight extra wear where the vertical folds cross. Size open is 19 x 14.5 inches. The outsides of the covers are grubby and marked- see pictures.
