Wales. It has a sgraffito incised dragon which is highlighted with tones of brown. It is made of red clay and the back is incised: Teifi" Condition/ Defects: The plate is in excellent condition. It may possibly have had a felt covering on the base as there is evidence of glue. Probably to protect a surface as the pottery is rough to the base. Dimensions: Approx: diameter 175mm. Model River Teifi Coracle
On offer here is a Model of a River Teifi Coracle. The model measures 9 by 6 by 2 1/2 inches. This is a copy of the ancient and traditional Welsh River Fishing Craft and are still used on the River Teifi. There is a label attached which explains the construction and sizes of the real full size craft. Please see images below for information and condition. Please check my other lots.
