It is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel. Heavy gauge- unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily. Very durable. Made in 1970s. 4" high 6" wide. This listing is for a French house number 574. It is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel. Heavy gauge- unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily. Very durable. Made in around 1900. They really don't make them like these today. This example is from northern industrial France- few other areas have any house numbers running this high. It has been partially restored by me- removal of limescale and grime and removing/curing the rust. Numbers 570. 572, 576 and 578 are also listed. They are from the same block or row of properties. 4" high 8" wide. The white enamel is in relief. Giving it excellent definition. This is the real thing from a real house in real France. Not a copy.
