The brooch has a flowers that were once red and green. You can still make out a bit of the colors. Which really adds to this piece! One rhinestone has patina around its base, and the pin as well has a few small spots on back, also have patina- all consistent with age. None of it interferes with the working condition of the pin. It has the old c clasp closure and works just fine. This is such a great piece! Measures 1-1/8" long. The design is foliate below ... morethe pearl and it has an antique hinge and c-clasp pin at the rear. There may be faint English hallmarks along one side. But they are very indistinct! It has been acid tested as sterling silver with a base metal pin stem. I believe the pin stem was replaced in antiquity: the small pin in the hinge is gold in colour. It is a professional replacement though and feels good and secure. The brooch is signed WAGER at the back as shown: I have not been successful in research, but no doubt this is a maker's name. It weighs 5.3 grams and is 2&1/8" long by about 3/8" across the widest point. I have not cleaned or polished this piece: there is light patina to the silver and what looks like some old silver polish paste near the top of it. The pearl has nice lustre and is quite unique in it's properties! It is overall in excellent antique condition. Not a reproduction piece! Very important notes! All photos are taken close up to show detail and/or markings and may be larger than actual size. PLEASE pay attention to all listed dimensions as refunds aren't available for misconceptions!
