I recently acquired an extensive antique photograph estate collection. Subject matter is very wide with many Native American photos and historic images from the Lander. Wyoming area from the same collection. All are original photographs that were taken by and from George W. Scott's studio. Many rare historic photographs from the one owner estate. Please see my other auctions for the entire collection. Up for auction is an original antique photograph of a steam boat on a river with a sign on the side that reads"Minnesota. Minnehaha Falls, Fort Snelling, A Soldiers Home" and dates from the late 1800's. The steamboat has people sitting in the front of it. The photo is an original and not a reprint. Great historic image of this area. No writing anywhere but came from a collection of George W. Scott photos. The photo is in nice ... moreshape with no holes, no tears and a small rabit ear crease in the lower left corner. Has paper residue on the backside from when it was in its original album. Photograph measures approx. 3 inches tall by 3 3/4 inches wide. Very rare historic photo and is a must for any collector. Found at a recent 95 year estate and was stored away for years. Antique greeting cards with soldiers in a Boar War Era from 1180 to 1902. There are 11 various cards. All of them have a New Years greeting somewhere on the card. All cards are old and some are damaged to some degree. These pictures have been around for over 100 years and they instill a feeling through their theme of those colonial days where the British empire was present on the continent of Africa. There are several with sailors on their ships, some have guard duty as the theme, some have leisure times as the theme. Some have theme of romance and some political suggestions of the Irish question and the African situation with hints of these matters. Antique Ft. D.A. Russell 11th Infantry Regiment U.S. Army Soldiers Handbook 1908
This Antique U.S. Army Soldiers Hand Book was originally owned by a soldier named George C. Kress that was assigned to the 11th Infantry Regiment Co. L Fort D.A Russell in Cheyenne Wy. From at least Nov 10 1911 to Jan 25. 1913. I can only assume he was an enlisted soldier due to this being a enlisted soldiers hand book. George has written in the book in pencil on the front and back blank pages of the book. On the front blank 1st page is a date of Nov 10, 1911 and shows a list of dollar amounts and a list of names with an amount. He either owed or they owed him? On the next page is G.C. Kress Co L 11 inf 1911. On the next page is the War Department page and there is also another money list with names beside a dollar amount. On the back inside cover is again a money list with names beside the dollar amounts. On the last blank page in the book ... moreis written: George Kress Sat Jan 25 1913 G.C Kress Co L 11 Inf Ft D.A. Russell Cheyenne Wyo. Also a few more pages from the back George has written what I think is a baseball score? L. Co-7 and B Batt-5(photo) My research shows that Ft. D.A. Russell was named after civil war general David Allen Russell and was activated in 1867. By the turn of the century is was one of the largest Calvery bases in the United States and famous for it's 9th. 10th, 24th which included the Buffalo Shoulders. The 11th infantry regiment was orginailly activated by President Lincoln in 1861 and after several movements thru history was orginally stationed at Ft. D.A. Russell in 1904. I've tried to research George C. Kress but can't seem to come up with anything on the internet. Lot's of information is available on Ft. D.A. Russell and the 11th infantry Regiment which he was assigned to and where this book orginially came from. This is a super nice piece of Military history with writings inside the book from George C. Kress which tells of the books history and associations. Not only just being an antique soldier's hand book dated 1908. But being associated with Ft. D.A. Russell Wyom

There is a large tree with an entrance to a castle. In the center panel there is an abundance of trees in the foreground and the background. A small bird is perched on top. On the right panel there are soldiers holding spears and a prince wearing a crown. We can also distinguish columns and tents in the background. The overall size i s 10' 9 X 8 ft. There is wear. 1863 RARE CIVIL WAR ANTIQUE LITHO SOLDIERS RECORD PHOTOS IN 74th RGMT CO E ID'D
An extremely rare hand-colored Civil War pictorial lithograph attached to canvas like textile. Being a“Soldier’s Record” for Company E 74th Regiment Indiana Volunteers(stamped Lith. print. by CHA s SCHOBER Chicago, Ill, attributed to be owned by Simon B. Shuder(remarks completed and this could be one of the photographs) This original hand-colored lithograph with three albumen oval photographs is 21 7/8 x 17 5/8 inches estimated to be printed shortly after March 1863. The last printed remark is in 1863 and most remarks are of deaths at Gallatin, TN. Charles Shober, who also created broadsides for the Emancipation Proclamation, had run his own lithographic printing firm from 1857 until its destruction in the 1871 great Chicago fire/ Great Conflagration. Includes various lithographed scenes and 3 mounted albumen photographic portraits. The primary illustration shows an American eagle with talons holding an American stars and stripes shield. Scenes show a battle between Union and Confederate soldiers, a naval encounter between ironclads, a soldier leaving his wife and child, the same soldier returning home to his family, includes a Zouave soldier etc. A listing, in three columns, provides the soldier’s names of the entire Company, with adjacent spaces for“Remarks” one has been completed for Simon B. Shuder and in graphite decipherable is: Aug? Dis. 1. 1864? other indecipherable to me but appears to be decipherable) Genealogical research revealed a February 15, 1864 discharge date. Also on lower is three columns of an overview of the 74th. This particular lithograph is very rare as few, if any, of these“Soldier’s Records” are known with actual photographs. Antique US Soldiers Metal Bead WW I Rosary
Antique WWI Soldiers metal silver bead rosary with a length of 16 1/2 inches. The mater and pater beads are the same diameter(4.5mm) The crucifix has nice clean lines with a beautiful raised Corpus and measures 1 3/4 inches. The middle medal is typical with the Blessed Virgin Mary on one side and Our Savior Jesus carrying the cross on the other. This would make a nice addition to any collection. Antique Meissen Figurine of Two Wounded Soldiers -1800's--doubly signed
This is one of the most poignant compositions that we own. A wounded soldier of obviously higher rank is helping a thirsty subordinate(also wounded) Resting on a rock in a field somewhere. Where are they? Are they waiting for medics, are they in between battles, are they heading home. After victory, or defeat? Napoleonic era—a history buff can analyze the uniforms the soldiers are wearing etc. This is an amazing 19th century Meissen biscuit porcelain figurine of two wounded soldiers. The workmanship on this figure is incredible with extremely fine detailing. It is early 19th century. The exact date would depend on analysis of the markings- I am not an expert, so I will leave it to the buyer to research the two Royal monograms, one on the cartridge bag on the back side and the other on the front. They look like an"F W R" monogram ... morealong with a crown. This beautiful piece is also fully marked with an impressed"crossed swords" in a triangle along with a"JP. in script a"181" and"30" impressed on the base. This mark was used until 1830. The composition is in great condition with minor chips. And a missing top tassle on the hat on the ground, otherwise no fleabites, cracks, hairlines or repairs and measures 9" tall by 5-1/2" at the widest. This is from my husband's personal collection. Need to downsize. Vtg Antique WWI Original Photo Uniform Army Soldiers Christmas Mess Hall
Great piece of WWI history! VINTAGE army original photo of a mess hall at Christmas time. My expert associates tell me this is WWI period(possibly into the 30's) based on the high neck of the Army soldier's uniforms. The mess hall is decorated with streamers& Christmas bells. Even the tables have a floral centerpiece(looks like holly. But not positive) As you can see. They are also using some enamelware serving pieces. The photo is framed by a thick cardboard back(with a bit of age wear on the one edge) That measures 9 by 11 inches. Hence the photo is slightly smaller. Beside the names there is information listed about the officers such as how they died, deserted, promoted,wounded, reduced in ranks,drummer, fifer,ect The"Central Gaurds" were orgainized in Buffalo NY in 1861.And then started from Elmira NY headed to Washington crossing over the Potomoc on Sept 29th. 21st Regt. New York Volunteers Company. Mustered into U.S. Service in May 20 1861 Elmira NY. By Capt. W.L.ELLIOTT. Print has nice color and scenes. Two early photos of a War Vet and his Wife wrapped in a flag at their farm in New York Maybe. The print has some damage. But no more than I would expect for something of this age. Recently purchased at an Estate sale in my area and now up for your auctioneering pleasure is this antique World War II U.S. Soldiers Basic Field Manual FM 21-11(First Aid for Soldiers) This manual(dated April 7. 1943) was issued to troops as part of their individual field gear. The purpose of this manual was to teach the soldier what he could do for himself or a fellow soldier if injury or sickness occured when no Medical Officer or Medical Departtment soldier was nearby. The outer front cover of this manual does show some slight stain marks but not bad when you consider this manuals age. This particular manual contains twelve different sections(pages 1-112) complete with black and white photos and all the information needed to train the soldier on everything from wounds, fractures, war gases and the use and contents of first aid kits and ... morepackets, just to name a few. Pages 113-119 are for the manuals index. All the pages inside of this First Aid manual are in excellent condition. The pages are all accounted for with no rips, tears or damage.
