Original 1880's Bankes Coffee Sign, Vintage Advertising, Antique Coffee Sign
Quite a rare find! We have an original wood double sided sign dating from the 1880's that came from an old Bankey's Coffee shop located what is now the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago. The piece was stored in the basement for many years and we carefully stabalized the piece and gave it a light cleaning. Entire piece is made of wood and the gold letters really pop. Signs of painting throught the years and very nice weathering from hanging outside for many years add to the rustic character of the piece. The black background is a gritty paint mix of paint and sand to help weather proof the wood and add a nice rich background for the gold painted wood letters that are carved from single pieces of wood-pretty amazing. I am pretty sure you won't find many(if any) more of these signs dating from this period. I have not attempted ANY cleaning of the sign, it is just as I found it. There are screw holes from the wall brackets when I removed it, and a couple small nails. The curved edge looks like the wood might have been trimmed but there is still some original paint there. Size of the sign is 8 1/2" x 36" Look at the pictures to judge condition. Considering the age of the building it was found in and the history of Galena, the sign probably dates from the 1850s to 1890s. Shipping by USPS, US sales only.

Vintage Art Deco Exit Sign movie theater rare antique glass lights
This is a rare movie theater art deco exit sign. It came out of an old movie theater in central PA. The glass is about 12"x 8" when it is out of the base. The glass is cut in and painted red for the letters. This is how I found it. I only added the cord. I was tempted to painted the base silver but I will leave that up to the new owner. rare unusual vintage antique old cast iron please close the gate fence sign. I took this sign off a fence at a building we are taking down there was one on the front gate and one on the gate in the back yard(I have two but may keep one) it measures 7 1/4 inches long by 3 3/4 inches high and is 1/4 inch thick and is very heavy cast iron. it is green with white letters and as you can see in pics has a great patina with light surface rust for character or could be repainted and comes with the old rusted flat head screws that were in it when taken down.shipping will be $6 in the lower 48 USA states. if you are Alaska. Here we have a great old sign from I was told Loudon. NH. I'm not sure of the age of the sign but it is made with a single piece of wood that is very thick and has great hand forged decorations on the side. The sign is double sided and hand carved and painted. It's a great and heavy sign. The wood, not including the forged side decorations is about 20 1/2 inches by 55 1/2 inches and 2 3/4 thick.
