During my research I looked at literally 100's of cloisonne pieces and saw nothing that came even close to the work involved to create this beautiful flower arrangement. I can't find words to describe and the pictures only begin to show. I could not nail down who actually created this Masterpiece, but believe it to have come from the Shanghai region possibly late 1800's to very early 1900's although it could be some years either way judging from the colors and some of the design elements. Over all condition is excellant although there is a little wear on the inside. My neighbor inherited this from his Aunt who got it while she and her Husband were stationed in India while serving in the Air Force. There are no ... moremanufacturer’s marks on the bottom but it was acquired at an estate sale as part of a large set of Allertons Blue Willow China made in England in the late 1800s. The transfer pattern on this piece is identitcal and I am confident this sugar bowl is from the same manufacturer and also well over 100 years old! The piece is intact with no chipping or crazing but there is a fine inverted“Y” shaped hairline crack on the back side. The crack doesn’t detract from the beauty of the piece and doesn’t appear to jeopardize the integrity of the piece…you could use it as a functional sugar bowl. Not just a display piece. Antique Limoges France Marked G.D&C Serving Bowl With Lid With White/Gold Design Up for sale is an antique Limoges G.D&C serving dish. This is a marked piece with a matching lid. There is a gold pattern that goes all around the serving dish and lid which has drastically faded over time because of the age. Has two gold painted handles that are connected to the lid and on top is a gold leaf/vine like handle for lifting the lid off the serving bowl. Both are faded as but you can still see some of the gold that used to cover all of it. It does have one big chip as can be seen on my pictures so make sure you check them out before deciding on purchasing this item. It's located on the side of the lid and it's that's the only seriously flaw other than the fading of the gold pattern otherwise for its age it's in great condition. ... moreMarked on the bottom is G.D&C Limoges France with four red letters or numbers which is really hard to make out. From my research on this piece I have found it to be anywhere from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. It's a very old piece and with a little cleaning up will be a perfect addition to add to your fine antique china collection. Measures approx. 12" long on the serving bowl from handle to handle. 6 1/2" wide on the inside of the bowl, the lid measures a little under 10" long and 7" wide and it is about 7" tall from top handle to bottom of the bowl. DESCRIPTION: I’m offering today an Antique Elite Limoges France Shallow Porcelain Bowl with beautiful gold trim. This Antique bowl has scalloped edges which are trimmed in beautiful heavy gold. The bowl dips down into a shallow well with raised embossed designs in the porcelain. The pale yellow and blue-green tiny flowers decorate the side walls which look quite elegant against the gold trim around the edges. In the very center against the white porcelain is a round band of pastel flowers decorating the elegant design. To finish out the bowl are three bands of matching flowers on the outside rim of the bowl. The bowl has a tiny rim which allows it to sit up from the surface. There is yet another band of gold contouring around the rim edge. The bottom is hallmarked in red: Elite SM Limoges France" There is also another hallmark in dark ... moreblue. The star has"Limoges" going around the interior center. The bottom is marked"France" I do believe this bowl is from Circa 1890's era. It is quite lovely and remains beautiful after all these years. A Bavarian porcelain manufacturing company founded in 1901 in Vohenstrauss, Germany. Named for the eldest Seltmann brother. The business actually was inspired by the talent of Karl and Christian Seltmann, Johann's younger brothers, both of whom had been active in the pottery and porcelain business before the company was founded. Located near the porcelain center of Arzberg. The Vohenstrauss factory was a huge success. Vintage finger plate hand painted far East scene with handle
Up for sale is a vintage finger plate I recently purchased at an estate sale. It measures 5 9/16" and the bottom is stamped hand painted. Made in Japan and has what looks like 2 connected diamond shapes with a T in each one. I guess that could identify the manufacturer if you are familiar with that. I don't know for sure what it is made from but my best guess would be porcelain. It shows a far East scene and this piece retains its nice colors. Please check the pictures and judge for yourself. This rare and unique pieces is old. But there is no maker's mark on it, so I am do not know what it is exactly. The base unscrews from the top and we looked for a mark there and nothing. I have for youy this evening a rare and stunning piece by the small firm of Martial Redon and P. J. Gibus in Limoges France. This company produced a luxury porcelain line and in the 1880s and 1890s when this piece was designed and painted. This stunning example of a large footed bowl is magnificently decorated on the outside with a mint green and gold accents over a cream glazed base color. Inside has been hand painted the most beautiful examples of the humble dandelion I have ever seen and is rare for its choice in subject matter and the sensative and beautiful rendering of the flowers and foliage. The piece is timmed in gold on rim and foot and is just an outstanding example of its type by a great maker. This would make a great centerpiece for any table or just a great cabinet piece. Would be a great addition to any collection of fine porcelain ... moreand a prized piece for any Limoges collector. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. this piece stands 3.25" tall and has a rim diameter of 9.5" and a base diameter of 5.75" This piece dates from the late 19th century by the mark. This listing is for an antique MZ(Moritz Zdekauer) Austria porcelain berry bowl with a gorgeous pearlized finish! This bowl is extremely well made and dates circa 1884 to 1909. It is a glossy white. With white flowers, a pink rose and lovely green leaves. Every-other sculpted rim displays a white flower with hand-painted accents. There are gold gilt designs along the rim of the bowl and along the sculpted beading within the inside of the bowl. The bowl measures 11 1/8" inches wide and 3 1/2" inches tall. It is free of chips, cracks or fractures. There is some minimal gold gilt loss, but consistent with age. It is signed on the bottom with the green double eagle Austria mark, as well as the words Gesetzlich and Geschutzt. The numbers ... more9801 and 1 are embossed into the base of the bowl as well. Antique Pennsylvania? Large Oval Redware Baking Dish Mustard Yellow Glaze
Here's an old OLD large. Oval-shaped, heavy baking dish that I was told was redware. It was purchased from an estate sale in Idaho from a lady who collected redware. I'm not sure where she got this piece, but it looks exactly like some Pennsylvania pieces that I've seen in the past. It has a mustard-colored glaze on the inside and then a gloppy brown/black colored glaze on the outside. It has a chip on one side(please see all pics) but it actually looks like it was chipped a long time ago and then they continued using it because it's not a sharp chip, it's actually smooth from use(I think) There are NO breaks or cracks in this piece. There's lots of tiny, tiny crazing in the mustard glaze. There is a#3 on the bottom. Or, it could be a#2, but I decided it was a 3. Also known as"Pekoe" Set of 6 beautiful Rimmed Soup Plates/Bowls each is 9 3/8" diameter. 1 1/4" deep A rare and lovely printed pattern depicting an exotic oriental flying bird amongst lus h colorful foliage. Border is Floral and Botanical with oriental influenc e. Regarding this pattern: I believe the pattern was originally made by Davenport. And was known as pattern#6. Somewhere in the 1800's. It became the property of Mason's To complicate matters. Ashworth Brothers acquired Masons' original mould's by way of Francis Morely. From 1861 Ashworth made other patterns purchased from Mason's. And this"Flying Bird" or"Pekoe" is one of them. See Williams Weber 1. 1978 p.583, Davis 1991. P.87, Godden ... more1999 p.227. The soups are in excellent condition. With no chips or cracks, no excessive wear or tear. I could find only a handful of very tiny utensil m arks on two of them. Amazingly there is no crazing on four of them. But there is some fine and pretty crazing on two of them. Some manufacturers call this style of transferware"filled in" Where the printed pattern has over-glazed colors hand painted on to the black& white(or blue& white) outline. Where I come from this is called clobbering. If you are familiar with this pattern. T he mustard color is known for it's flaking flaws on the outside rims. Although not too much on these particular pieces. On one soup there is some very mild flaking of the mustard color on the outside rim. Any questions are welcome through this listing. ANTIQUE PORCELAIN BOWL, FLOW BLUE TRANSFER WARE FROM TURN OF THE CENTURY, FRANCE
For your consideration is a rare porcelain blue tint or blue wash transfer ware bowl loosely imitating the Hirado look from the turn of the century. The design is a toile like pattern of flowers and hearts done in“flow black” monochrome transfer and pale Goso blue tint or wash. The bowl was hand crafted on a potter’s wheel and not press molded. Upon closer examination you can actually see some of the shaping marks left by the tools. The bottom is marked with an under glaze FRANCE mark. The condition of the bowl is good. Not perfect. There are some small imperfections left from where the porcelain did not fully cover some smaller spots. It has had a small chip repair to the base and there is a visible crack that shows from the inside of the bowl but not from the exterior side. This is a beautiful bowl measuring 6" in diameter and bearing two marks: the CORONET LIMOGES FRANCE(BORGFELDT) factory mark. And the decorating mark P.M.de M. LIMOGES FRANCE(MAVALEIX) that date the piece to ca. 1900-1920. The bowl is hand painted and signed by the well known Limoges artist BARIN. Painted over the surface is a large pink leaf and white flowers with enameled gold centers and dark green leaves on stems; they form an Art Nouveau design over a scenic lake background. There are gold dots in relief on the pink leaf. And the border is heavily gilded. The bowl is in excellent condition. No chips. Cracks or discolorations I can see. For your consideration… Beautiful large antique lusterware(lustreware) bowl from Germany that is wonderfully detailed with pink& yellow roses and white daisies. The edges of the bowl have iridescent leaves on the top& bottom.The bowl has lightly scalloped edges and has gold along the rim with raised detailing along the rim and down into the bowl. Measurements are approximately– 10” diameter. 2 ¾” tall Condition– I am no pro and cannot grade this bowl. With that said I found; some surface scratches/use marks to the inside of the bowl,no chips, no cracks, no crazing, no previous repairs. La France Antique Bowl"Mignon" Z.S. Co. Rose Print& Gold Rimmed 10" round and 2 1/2" deep This particular makers mark was used between 1890-1918. Good to Very Good condition. Some minor scratches on print, light wear on gold rim and a small chip on the base. Please see pictures as I have tried to capture the most noticeable areas of wear. Gorgeous Antique Reticulated Figural Cherub Angel Compote Bowl 1910s Germany
Porzellanmanufaktur Plau e German Cherub Compote* Estate purchase. This is a beautiful antique porcelain compote measuring 5 inches high and having a diameter of 6 1/2 inches. I t has three ch erubs that with their fl owing wraps of color form the three pedestal legs of the reticulated compote. Hand formed. Painted, and applied roses and f oliage grace the outer surface of the bowl. There are two places of notable condition. The thumb from its mid point has been broken off fr om the ch erub in purp le cloth. see pic 4) One petal from a pink rose above the outstretched arm of the blue clothed angel is missing. Gold Gilded, Bowl. This piece is signed on the bottom with the following in the blue: Royal, above the logo, Kinran, running through the logo, Nippon, under the logo. This piece is from ca. 1890- 1910. It was acquired at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago. The exterior of this piece is decorated with gold gild and trim around the entire bowl, lid, handles, and feet. When I first looked at the exterior design, I thought they were dragons on both ... moresides. However, the more I look at it, I am unable to determine whether they are dragons, birds, or a cross of a dragon and a bird. Please view the pictures and decide for yourself. I have taken several pictures, with& without the flash. The white you see on the item in the pictures, is the flash. The exterior also contains purple or violet flowers in the design. This beautiful covered bowl is in excellent shape! Especially, considering its age. There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no scratches, and no repairs! The gold gild is worn, where you would expect it to be; the 2 handles on the bowl, and the handle on the lid. This Royal Kinran Nippon Bowl stands 3.75" tall; 6.5" wide, from handle tip to handle tip; 3.5" in diameter, at the opening; 5.5" in diameter, at the widest part of the bowl; The feet are.75" tall.
