Vintage Art Deco Exit Sign movie theater rare antique glass lights
This is a rare movie theater art deco exit sign. It came out of an old movie theater in central PA. The glass is about 12"x 8" when it is out of the base. The glass is cut in and painted red for the letters. This is how I found it. I only added the cord. I was tempted to painted the base silver but I will leave that up to the new owner. It will be well packed and have insurance. Payment is due within 3 days of auctions end. I ship only to the lower 48 states with advertised shipping price. Antique Windmill Tail Sign, Wincharger, RARE
This is the tail part of a real windmill. The smaller type that was popular on farms and outposts in the early part of the 20th century, for use in operating radios and nightly electricity. The Wincharger plant in Western Iowa produced military hardware during World War II and was later purchased by Zenith, who shut the plant down and moved the production of television parts to Mexico in the early 1960's. Sign has some expected chips in the paint. Mostly on the edges, some light corrosion and faint scratches from being used, but for the most part, it has been stored inside over the years. Measures about 26" long, about 7 1/2" wide on one end and about 6" wide on the opposite end. Made of sheet steel. This is a very rare item. We have a very RARE 2-sided black& white porcelain sign that reads"STOCK" on both sides that we believe dates to at least as far back as the 1920's. We're not sure what"STOCK" refers too.whether it be actual stock in a company. The stock section of a store or perhaps even'live-STOCK' but we know it's cool and that we've NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT and you probably won't either! The"STOCK" wording is baked into the finish and we believe these are actually 2 individual porcelain signs encased in a porcelain frame. Heavy approximately 3-5 pounds, primative folky design The writing appears to be done on very thin leather/paper composition. Something I have never seen on a sign before. It is cracking and there are some small gashes that show a leather like composition. Overall the sign is in good condition considering its age The sign is double sided with the same advertisement on both sides The sign measures 11 inches long and 8 inches tall. This rare Antique CITY OF LONDON POLICE Enamel Sign dates I believe to around 1880 or thereabouts. Although I cannot be certain of the exact date. The Sign measures approximately 13x11.5 inches. It weighs around 1.022 kg. The Sign is in vintage condition. With signs of wear commensurate with age and use. This basically consists of chips to the corners and edges. The top corners are bent and the Sign requires a good clean/polish. The Sign has 4 holes to mount. A very rare addition to any Police or Sign collection.
