Rare Antique Handmade Birchbark Wooden Fishing Creel
For sale we have an exceptional example of a Very Early Handmade Birch Fishing Creel. This piece is made entirely out of birch bark branches cut to size and is primitively nailed together. You can still see some of the actual white birch bark on the lid and several of the side pieces. Notice the round twig that is the outer edge of the hole on the top.awesome! The inside has a piece of what appears to be bamboo around the inner lid edge. It has obviously had several repairs but this is a very old piece of fishing gear possibly from the mid to late 19th century. I have never seen anything like it! It measures 10.5" tall. 15" long and 11" wide. This is an extremely rare piece.

The plastic on the tip is cracked. The violin is used with scratches. Scuffs and nicks. The machine head tuners appear to be in good shape. Fingerboard has some wear. The tailpiece, chin rest and bridge each appear to be in good shape with some wear. There are no discernible cracks, aside from some old separation at some edges that have been long since glued. There is no sound post in place. Any cosmetic wear should be evident in the photos provided. He was born in 1910 and fished religioulsy until the 1960s so it's much older than 40 years. I'm not sure when and where he aquired it from- he lived in NYC most of his life and fished off Long Island and up in the Adirondack Mountains. My grandfather kept all his items in near MINT condition. It's in perfect working order. The wood looks great, the finish is still really nice, and the crank still works. Vintage Old Antique Handmade Primitive Wooden Box with Lock
Hello.Up for auction is a primitive wooden box with a lock. It is 12" long, 7" wide and 5 1/4" deep, all wood with metal hinges and lock/no key, the bottom is a thin and smooth, I believe it is masonite.The lock appears to have had a triangle shaped key, I was able to wiggle the lock up and down a little with a screw driver but I didnt force it to see if it would pop up all the way.Box was hand built and crudely put together but in decent shape for its age, it was found in an old outbuilding where it was probably sitting for decades,check out all the pics as they are a huge part of the description. This is an antique handmade dovetail oak wooden box. It has a cross on the top which makes me believe it was used to store a bible. It is in good vintage condition and has a metal latch hook on the front. The inside of the lid is painted brown and it has a purple velvet liner on the bottom inside. Two of the bottom corners do have some damge to the wood but nothing major. The box is 11 3/4 inches long. 7 1/4 inches wide, and 2 inches high with the lid closed. Thanks for looking.

Folk Art Handmade Wooden "Steamboat" Mantle Clock- INCREDIBLE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Simply amazing" are the only words I have to describe this one-of-a-kind. Fantastic handmade wooden clock fashioned after an early steamboat. The plaque on the underside of the base reads"Steamboat' made by Jean& Harry Wilson, May, 1997. It is finely detailed and extremely ornate. Every piece and every window was cut by hand with a scroll saw. It must have taken weeks to complete. The ship is bilaterally symmetrical; in other words. With a bow, smokestack and a wheelhouse at each end, and the paddlewheels in the middle, it's the same coming and going. I can't tell if it had moving parts at one time(I don't think so) None of the parts move now, except of course, the clock, which is powered by one AA battery.
