It measures about 9-1/2 inches tall and 6-1/2 inches wide. As you can see in the pictures, it has a piece near the bottom that sticks out about 1-1/2 inches, and not sure of what the purpose was and almost looks like the end of a key. Pure Vintage LUDWIG Exterior Bass Drum Damper. Works great. Looks awesome
Outide of the fact that vintage drum sets look bare without one of these substantial dampers dressing the bass drum. The application of the large felt(5.5 inches) on the resonant bass drum head is STILL, to my mind, the best way to insure that your bass drum produces that heart-surging thump, without ring noise, or other compromise. Admittedly. Bass drum manufacturers have come a long way, with the advent of bass drum heads that move in the direction of chanelling the bass drum sound toward the dry, thump sound we all crave and love. And certainly with the addition of a microphone, and the ability to control sound output from the bass drum, much can be done to dampen and control the ring, and higher tonalities that detract from the desired bass drum sound. Still and all, here once again we see that, as is the case with so many things percussion, ... morethe old style approach, and mechanisms prove the best. This piece is an easy sell. Looks great. Particularly on a vintage drum set; is indispensable to control the ringing and harmonics spilling out from a large size bass drum; and overall is part of a professional drummer's arsenal, in his long road toward percussion sound perfection. This one is top quality- Manufactured many years ago by the Wm.F. Ludwig Drum Company of Chicago. USA, every aspect of it works, and works well. You'll have no problem mounting this unit onto your bass drum ring. In terms of positioning there is pivot control hardware, as well as the ability to moderate the amount of tension, and hence degree of muting/muffling/dampening, that is being applied. The piece is all original, to my knowledge. The felt is totally uncompsomised. Not worn in the least. When you hold this piece, and then attach it to your bass drum, and experiment with where, and what degree of application you desire from it, you can FEEL your connection to the highest form of drum playing tradition, and finesse. You are bidding on a Old Vintage Japanese robe or Kimono Looks to be done by hand but sewn on a machine I am thinking. I have no clue to be honest with you though as I have no clue what it is made out of. To me it looks to be in rough shape as it does have a few larger tears and several of the ends are frayed. I didn't want to wash it so that's why it looks wrinkled cause I don't know what would be the right way to wash it. It has an image on it of a boat with flowers. House in the background and a bird and some other stuff. You should be able to see that in the photo's. I could not find any tag so hence why I am thinking someone made this but the stitches are too close and I think that means it was sewn on a sewing machine but I could be wrong. Vintage 1960 Sunburst Les Paul. 14 DAY RETURN GUARANTEE Gibson Holy Grail 1960 Sunburst Les Paul. Here for your consideration. We are offering a truely exceptional 1960 Gibson Les Paul Sunburst. This instrument came into my possession originally in 1968. I sold it to a friend and got it back from him in the early 90's. It has recently been on sale in a well known shop in L.A. priced at 180K. However. I have come to the decision to sell it for personal reasons. And so, we offer it to you now at a reduced price. I have played over 40 Sunbursts. And owned three as my personal guitars. I have only ever played one other that came close to this one. Although this guitar has some" issues" It remains the single best electric guitar I have ever played. Period. The vintage Gibson PAF humbuckers( an All white and a Half white) are not ... moreoriginal to this guitar. But they are the two single best Gibson humbuckers I have ever heard! The cream humbucking pickup rings are original to this instrument. I should mention that this guitar has the most incredible playing neck Ive ever felt. But it is NOT fat! If you like a big baseball of a neck. This guitar may not be for you. The gibson brown case is period correct. But not original to this guitar. The wood: ok. The most deepest. Most three dimensional top I have ever seen. Beyond description really. The frets are in excellent. Nearly unplayed condition. They were redone several years ago by Frankie Montuoro. Who also did other restoration work as follows: Restored the hairline crack in the peghead. And did an extraordinary job of it. He replaced the oversized metal jackplate with a period correct vintage Gibson jackplate. And filled the extra jackplate mounting screwholes. The front of the peghead had a blemish from a hippie diffraction reflector and Frankie refinished just the front. As always. guitar vintage antique Martin 018 1958 very playable and looks great
This is a Martin 0-18. Taken in on trade. Made in 1958 as best I can determin from the net. It Does have several tight cracks in the side.Back and top. I have checked these closley and see no movement in them. Looking inside I see a few very thin repair shims over some of the cracks. Also I see that the bridge has been drilled and doweled. These repairs look to have been profisional done. It also has some very small dents and the back looks like maybe a buclel rash. None of these are serious but would affewct colector value.The neck is tight at the heal and stright and has about a 1/8th action at the 12th fret. This looks like mahogney sides and back and spruce top with tortise binding.The finnish looks very good but I can see some signs of a redo or touch up. Tunners look factory as does everything. As its inventor, John Dopera, said of the tricone, It flows like a river. It is in mint condition, which may sound unusual for a antiqued finish, but it is in the same condition as it was from the factory. No fret wear, the neck, cones, and everything else functions as new, but it looks like it's from the 1930's. The Replicon finish and metal treatment is a $600 option. This guitar has the look and feel of a vintage National with all the benefits of a modern guitar. The nickel finish on Nationals is beautiful, but requires frequent polishing to be maintained, the Replicons are much easier. Hi Folks, Up for bid are two very nice backpacks. One is a vintage green pack with a lower compartement for sleeping bag and poncho. Upper for clothers and food. A zippered map pocket on top and two side pockets for first aid and quick grab items. I put some padding on and it holds plenty of weight. The second is an alder stream canvas pack visit the website for information. Has plenty of pockets and is made of serious canvas and leather bottom. Made of metal with working moving parts. Chain and front tire are rubber. Hand brakes operate like real cable pulls. Pedals rotate, chain and sprocket rotate, front wheel spins, forks swivel, kickstand goes up and down and the seat and handlebars are height adjustable. This is a nice piece. It is basically a scaled down version of the real thing. I have seen real bikes that are not put together this good. Martin Freres Grand Prix vintage Clarinet PLAYS AND LOOKS GREAT
I am a retired Band director and I buy and sell horns. In my travels I find some interesting vintage horns and this is one of those horns. This horn has been overhauled just a few years back. All new pads. Springs, the works. It cost me $370. I was going to use it just to keep in shape but my arthritic hands have trouble with the hand print. It is a French made horn and is in excellent condition. I have a number of old clarinets and am going to get rid of them. The time has come. This horn looks like it is out of the 1940's which it is and includes the old reed case and Rico cork grease container. The case and the horn woul dalso be a good art piece as well as a playable instrument. This is a very playable horn and could be used by a student that would take proper care of it.

Hey! Check out this awesome guitar. It's a Conrad. Made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan. It sounds and plays awesome. It's been given whole tune up: New strings. New set up and well intonated. Also, a new jack and volume knob and all electronics cleaned. PLUS the pick ups have been potted which means the pick ups are not microphonic. This is important because the pickups on guitars from the 1960s become extremely microphonic as they age. Which makes them unusable in a live situation because of pick up noise and micro phonic feedback(the bad kind of guitar feedback) Not this beast. Look I could go on but there's nothing I can say that is not said in the video. You can actually hear what it sounds like in the video. This will shipped the right way. Lots of padding. Big box. I've had a lot of gear shipped to me this year that ... morebroke during shipping. There isn't a bigger bummer than being all excited to open your new guitar and it's broken when it comes out of the box(well cancer might be a bigger bummer. Vintage Unknown Type 6 String Instrument - Looks Hand Carved / Made - NO RESERVE
Up for auction is a vintage 6 string instrument that I am unfamilar with. We found this during a attic clean out. Instrument looks to be handmade and carved, measures 45 1/2 inches in length, the head section looks to be made of animal skin and measures 12 by 16 1/2 inches in size. Has 6 turn keys all seem to be working, unsure if this instrument had a bridge or not, head held on with 1 inch thick leather strap attached around outside edge. Neck seems to be straight and firm, bowl section in 5 1/2 inches deep, all wood looks fine without any cracks found anywhere. Actual item is pictured.
