It measures 5 3/4 inches in length, weighs 25.4 grams, and is in excellent condition. Check back often as we're selling many souvenir spoons from a family heirloom collection. From makers including Tiffany& Co, Shiebler, Watson, and many others, mostly from the early 1900's. Pueblo Colorado Train Station after 1921 Flood RPPC WOW! Pickup Truck Wagons etc
Outstanding image in the real photo postcard of the Pueblo. Colorado Union Depot- Denver and Rio Grande RR after the flood of the Arkansas River in June, 1921. Unused and unsed but in rough shape. Has some black paper glued to two corners, one chipped corner and looks like flood damage to one side of the card. Despite all the troubles there is a TON of great detail in this card. Nice old pickup truck and a couple of wagons as well as a lot of people around the depot. Really a great card in well. Rough shape. AZO 4 triangles- 2 up 2 down stampbox. This is NOT a mass produced card. It just says 1921 flood on the front and it took some doing to figure this all out. Shipping within the US is $1.25. Up for bid is this Erzgebirge hand painted wooden train cars or could be a wagon train. This is an estate sale find and it appears someone stopped right in the middle of assembling these and never got to the fun part of painting them. This measures approximately 2" long and 1-1/4" tall. Up for auction are TWO H0 PASSENGER WAGONS/ CAR DB DEUTSCHEBAHN from LIMA made in Italy. These cars were from a large box of vintage train items that was recently purchased at an estate sale. At first I thought that these were army cars. But apparently the smaller 6 inch car is a CAR DB DEUTSCHEBAHN. The larger car 8.5 inch car I have no idea about, could also be German. Approximately 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" The Golden Age of postcards. Marked by the"divided back" began on March 1, 1907. The address had to be written on the right side of the back of the postcard while the left side was reserved for writing messages. At this time in American history the postcard hobby became a public addiction. Publishers printed millions ... moreof cards in this era. Most postcards were printed in Germany, the world leader in lithographic processes. Then at the height of this country wide mania, WWI began. It brought with it. A crash in the hobby as the supply of postcards from Germany came to an end. At this time, English and U.S. publishers seized the opportunity to fill the gap with their products, many of which were of lower quality. This coupled with the recurrent influenza epidemics, and WWI war shortages all had an adverse affect on the American postcard hobby. Then. As a last straw, the proliferation of the telephone, provided a fast, reliable means to keep in touch, at least for short distances in larger cities. The phrase, Drop me a Line" became less important and hence, it is considered that the"Golden Age of Postcards" came to an end about 1915. The postcard view is now highly sought after by many institutions(including the Smithsonian) and individuals. As it serves as a historical record of the past.
