Up for sale is a very nice 48 Sinclair HC Double Sided Porcelain sign in the original band. It does have a little touch up around the edge on the best side. The back side is probably 6-7 out of 10 and has no touchup. You cannot see it unless you get right up on it and the paint matches perfect. It can be picked up locally or I will assist with shipping if buyer will arrange and pay for it. It can be stored here for a while if needed as it is hanging in y collection. Sinclair Oil Corporation is an American petroleum corporation. Founded by Harry F. Sinclair on May 1, 1916. During the Great Depression. Sinclair saved a number of other petroleum companies from receivership or bankruptcy, and acquired others to expand its operations. In 1932, Sinclair purchased the assets of Prairie Oil and Gas's pipeline and producing companies in the southern United States, and the Rio Grande Oil Company in California. In 1936, Sinclair purchased the East Coast marketing subsidiary of Richfield Oil Company, and 30 later, Richfield merged with Atlantic Refining, forming Atlantic Richfield. At the Chicago World's Fair of 1933-1934. Sinclair sponsored a dinosaur exhibit meant to point out the putative correlation between the formation of petroleum deposits and the Age of Dinosaurs. The exhibit included a two-ton animated ... moremodel of a brontosaurus. The exhibit proved so popular it inspired a promotional line of rubber brontosaurs at Sinclair stations, complete with wiggling heads and tails, and the eventual inclusion of the brontosaur logo. This sign pre-dates the Chicago World's Fair of 1933-1934 after which the company started using the now familiar Dinosaur on their marketing. This sign comes from Buffalo. Wyoming and has been in the family since 1994 when it was acquired from a gas station in that town that was closing down—a dealer who had displayed the sign since it was new in the 1930’s. Up for auction is a nice used uncommon Sinclair gasoline porcelain small round motor oil sign. Great used shape with some wear and tear to both sides. There is a slight amount of surface rust started on the back. The hanging holes have been used and show a small amount of damage as well as some scratches and chips to face and sides. Vintage SINCLAIR AIRCRAFT Single Sided Porcelain Sign - REPRODUCTION
For your consideration is a vintage SINCLAIR AIRCRAFT Single Sided Porcelain Sign. This is a reproduction. But a really good one. It has fantastic looking porcelain paint. Great colors that really jump out at you. It's made of thick sturdy steel metal and has four grommet style holes for easy display on your man cave walls. Condition: Overall the sign is in excellent condition. If you are looking it over with a"fine tooth comb" you will see minor surface level"scratches" But they do not penetrate the thick porcelain enamel paint and are more like the swirly marks you see on the finish of a car's paint job. Back side is in great condition as well. Measurement: 11 3/4 diameter Sign is being offered on a no-reserve.
