Antique Wooden Hand Painted Chinese Wall Tile 2236 NO TWO are EVER exactly alike! Designers will take these to display alone in any manner of decors.or frame. or shadow box or mix and max for a desired effect. Several years ago one of our dealers found an old restaurant in China that was closing down and selling everything in the old building. Included in the sale were well over 100 of these old hand painted wall tiles. He bought them ALL. We've been selling them off and on for the past few years. Every time we go on a buying run to this particular dealer I sort through them and pick out the nicest ones still available. On our last buying run I picked out the last ones in the best condition that he had left. I take them and carefully clean the borders of each as they're very dusty when we get them. The borders are yellowed with age ... morein areas. They still have the old nail holes in them from where they were hung. I don't touch the hand painted areas. If you wanted you could carefully clean them with a soft q-tip but most people prefer the aged patina. One can only IMAGINE the time it took to paint each one of these. The tile you see below is the EXACT tile you will receive. It measures 18" x 18" Very ornate with a bird dragon flying through the air fighting with another dragon. I have two of these tiles left so this is one of the last two. We currently have over FOUR HUNDRED custom pieces listed in our ebay store and invite you to see them all! Antique Vintage Hand Painted 1800s Wood Sign "Boarding House"
This sign was found mounted to a wall as a shelf in an old Galena. Illinois house. It is painted both sides but one side is soiled/stained/dirty from being used as a shelf. I have not attempted ANY cleaning of the sign, it is just as I found it. There are screw holes from the wall brackets when I removed it, and a couple small nails. The curved edge looks like the wood might have been trimmed but there is still some original paint there. Size of the sign is 8 1/2" x 36" Look at the pictures to judge condition. Considering the age of the building it was found in and the history of Galena, the sign probably dates from the 1850s to 1890s. Shipping by USPS, US sales only.

It has been beautifully and expertly hand painted with an image of two frogs- one is climbing through the weeds on the side of a pond, the other is just pulling itself out of the water. In the middle it says'Bath-room' The art-work is beautiful, but it has been done on an unusually shaped piece of wood- I'm not quite sure where it was intended to go and how it would have been displayed. Around this sign it reads. Established for over a century, Naval Outfitter Braids and Full Dress Regalia at Short Notice. This sign is 50 to 60 years old, give or take. It was liberated from the outside entrance of the dining room from a very old Long Island, New York country club. Not by me, of course! This set of vintage wall plaques seem to be made from pine. They show mild aging. The scratches add character and are hardly noticeable.One plaque is an apple branch. And the other is a pear branch. Look closely at the photos and maybe you can capture water droplets on the branches that look almost real. These will look great in any kitchen. Or dining area. Measurements are: 22" long x 9 1/2" wide. They are oval and seem to have been shellaced in a teak color for the base and the edges a mahogany color.

This original antique sign came from the Adamstown. PA area and features hand-painted lettering on a sturdy wood background. The lettering on the sign reads"Dr. M. Chasan DENTIST AP’T. 6-B" I’m guessing it's from the early 1900s. This sign has nice patina and would look great hanging in a home office, business lobby, etc. It measures approximately 23" long, 12" high and 2.5" thick at the thicker end pieces and 1.5” thick at the other points. There is age wear(look closely at the photos) I’m guessing it was originally hung on the building by two nails– one through the top and one through the bottom. This hand painted sign is not a later copy. The sign measures approximate 6' feet wide and 12" inches high having off set ends and an arched top with an ogee moulding running round. It is interesting to note that the room that this sign was positioned above in its long history had once been name just(Store) In its evolution the room became renamed the Ladies Retiring Room. You can still make out the outline of the(Store) under its renaming. This is a very rare item and such a piece of Railway History is very hard to come by in such good condition. Originally built by Bische Rocco Co. were very popular in the decades following WWII and existed at many amusement parks. Today, the ride is experiencing a resurgence as it is manufactured by a different company, Larsen International, and introduced at many parks today. Many traditional parks, including Kennywood, West View, Idora, Geauga Lake, Euclid Beach, Coney Island, Kings Island, and Conneaut Lake, all had these rides. This is an auction for a vintage 1940’s prim painted WELCOME folk art sign. This is an antique sign from a farm estate in Columbus. Kansas- the family lived there for all of their 80+ years, it stood inside on their breezeway porch for many years- it has layers of old, thick paint. This is a true vintage piece of Americana. A OOAK item that was handmade and hand-painted. It measures 27.5” long, 8” wide and is ¾” thick. Painted black on all sides, the old, cracked paint is is still brightly colored and there are scenes of a red barn with a white“picket” fence, a white farmhouse with a green roof and a heart shaped design on the front of the house, a whimsical brown cow and a wife and husband with three children: two girls and a boy. There is a metal hanger on the backside that was added so that it can now be hung. BELL BRAND CONDENSED MILK. VERY OLD VINTAGE hand painted sign on solid wood board. Purchased at an antique show. Very"weathered" Black letters on wood(looks like cedar ~ has reddish/orangish color) The black still has good color ~ some areas have lost paint. But overall in excellent shape; Background is natural wood; 4 surface holes; Old rusted nails around perimeter; some missing; Has wear and tear. All of which gives it authentic true age character; an outstanding genuine old sign for display. The sign is not new and contains blemishes. Please see all pictures Unsure of age. Old Watson Hand Painted Antique Greenhouse SIGN Vintage Feed Not Oil Gas Store
This is a barn fresh find. Still has the dust and dirt on it. This a very old hand painted by a true sign painter long ago. You can see the brush strokes and the original age and patina. The sign is metal and part of old wood frame on it. That's a old one. Sign is 8 ft long and 2 ft wide. Perfect decor for home or garden. It's not everyday you see a old sign like this. Archery Headquarters Vintage 50's Hand Painted Sign 48 x 31 Roadside Attraction
This marvelous hand-painted metal sign. Dating from the 1950's, was found in a barn in Iowa. It is 48 x 31 inches. Painted on a single sheet of steel cut into a"fifties mod" streamlined shape. Condition as shown. There is a custom wooden frame on the back following the shape but missing the bottom edge. The sign was obviously used for TWO purposes- most recently it was lettered to say: ARCHERY HEADQUARTERS In another earlier incarnation. It had said SEE LIVE MT. LION BOBCAT AND OTHER ANIMALS Through weathering- the two texts have bled together and combined into a kind of instant history of American Roadside Attractions in the 1950's. Fun for mom. Dad and the kids, all trapped in a station wagon.

What a neat sign this is. I have collected signs of all types for many years. I bought this sign in about 1980 when some young entrepreneurs were opening a new antiques mall. They had rented this old hotel in Navasota. Texas and were getting the building ready to open. They were selling anything that wasn't permanently attached. This sign was hanging in the building so I bought it. I displayed it in my auction house for many years and now I no longer have a place for it. The top part measures 5-1/2 inches by 36 inches and the bottom part is 5-1/2 by 21 inches. It is painted on solid wooden boards that are 3/4 inch thick.
