It's very stable and sturdy. The seat covering couldn't be over a year or so in age. It would be very easy to replace the fabric on the seat with one of your favorite colors or patterns. It has pretty cabriolet style legs on pad feet. It has a unique set of handles made into the frame on each side of the seat. At one time the lid had either a connector or chain attached to it. At it's widest point. It's 20 5/8" wide X 14 1/4" and 20 1/2" tall. The seat/lid is 15 3/4" X 12 3/4" The padded seat is 15" X 12" The storage area under the seat is 3 1/2" deep. Very easily reupholstered as you can see, just two screws hold the seat on and it's almost a do it yourself upholstery job. The lucite could benefit from a polishing, has some scuffing to both sides, as shown in the closeup on picture 6, but no spidering, cracking, chips or fogging. Vintage eames era mid century wooden 9 inch taper stool bench furniture legs
For sale is a set of four vintage eames era skinny taper(sometimes called pencil shape) 9 inch furniture legs. I removed these from a midcentury piece that was in bad shape that I couldn't use but the legs were in excellent shape. The legs are about 2 inches wide at widest section(top) and go down to about 1 inch across at bottom. The legs are a dark stained wood and in great shape. They have the screws on top and the metal plates for connecting to your stool or table. This is a great set of vintage mid century legs that would give you that finished touch to your vintage project or to replace legs on your mid century piece. Rare Old Oak / Chestnut Retail Shoe Store Salesman Stool / Bench
Hello Folks. This is a rare find and a very nice piece, a pre 1950 probably late 30's early 1940's Retail Shoe Salesman Stool/ Bench. It is solid wood construction a combination of Oak and Chestnut, no plywood used in the making of this piece. It is in good and complete condition for its age. I see just one tack head missing, please see close up pic. The seat I believe is made of leather, but I am not postive. It is also in nice condition, no rips, no tears. It is also the cheapest and nicest one on EBay public offerment this week looking for a new appreciative home! The Foot Stool/Bench consists of a turned leg 4-legged frame in the Sheraton style with a slight scooped seating area fitted with a slip-seat removeable hand worked ... morewool needlepoint Seat Cover in black with appropriate Fruit Basket motif as was used on so many chair backs of the period. I do not know if this is factory original. Your looking at a vintage old stool found in grandparents attic with some old traps and bible from 1835. Need new paint and legs could use glueing but works great and holds at least my weight of 103lbs. I was told it was from Kutztown Pa. where all the amish are. Thats about all I know. I also have a metal step stool listed that I never seen one like it.

Planing marks throughout. Lots of honest wear and it's been painted at least twice. This was picked near Stratford Ontario in the late 1990's.
