Outside dimensions are 16 x 17 x 4.5; the picture's size is 13 x 14.25 and the cabinet is 3.75" deep; the metal piece that sticks to the magnet has come ungled but it still stuck on the magnet; there is also on spot on the front of the piece denoted by a bright-colored dot; marked Italy on back; there are some scratches on the outside finish. But because of the way the piece is made it is hard to tell if the cabinet was manufactured that way or if the scratches came from storage; from a gift shop that closed in the late 70s-item has been in storage since that time. There are no other discrepancies. Chips, cracks, nicks, fleabites or repairs. We do sometimes miss something, but do not mean to deceive. Please note, that we lightly wipe off items with a ... moredamp cotton cloth soaked in water(if applicable) but do not clean the item. We leave that for the new owner. Vintage Italian Florentine Carved Gilt Wood Shelf Sconce French Regency#1 This is a vintage Italian florentine carved gold gilt wood shelf/ sconce. It measures 7 1/4 in. across at the back-5 3/4 in. from top to bottom-3 1/4 in. from front to back. The top edge is curved and the front has a decorative design-the front leg extends downward and backwards to touch the wall. The shelf has metal loops for hanging. The underside is painted yellow and this one does not have an Italy marking. There is a stamped number on the back edge but I cannot make out what it is. This auction is for an gorgeous pair of Italian wall sconces. These are really nice. They measure almost 4 1/2 inches long and 4 inches wide. Beautiful scroll and swirl carving with gilt finish. The accurate color gilt is more so in photo 2. One has 2 original hooks for hanging. The other needs hooks which are easily to replace. One has a missing swirl but it was touched up mask the the defect somewhat and a minor crack is visible only on the back side. Otherwise it is solid. I believe these were from the 40's. Interesting and unusual vintage Italian gilded shelf with mirror. Measuring 12 inches X 5 1/2 inches X 6 1/4 inches tall. Sturdy with some overall condition issues, needs some TLC. Back stamped, Made in Italy" in black lettering. Constructed of lightweight wood. Cool gryphons/dragons/gargoyles on either side; gargoyles are similar but have slight differences, indicates that they were probably crafted by hand. Condition: areas of loss of gilding/scuffing/scratches/ small dark spots. Areas under feet of gargoyles slightly warped and has separated. One gargoyle has tight crack in neck area(does not wiggle or make area unstable or loose) No parts broken off. Repaired or missing.
