Handcarved Madonna Travel Shrine
This hand carved shrine is probably either done by Anri or carved in Oberammergau. It is not marked so I can't be sure. I'll photograph her face close up so you can see how finely she is carved. However she does have a flaw. At some time she took a fall forward and broke off part of her praying hands. I'll also do my best to take a clear shot of her arms and hands. I did not see this when I purchased her. She does display well unless you get out your magnifying glass. A shrine like this is very hard to find unless you are traveling in Europe. From time to time they may appear on eBay. But only rarely. Please ask if you have any questions.

This beautiful piece is richly detailed with very intricate molding that reveals the folds on the knuckles and joints of the hands as well as the nails. Even the veins on the back of the hands are detailed. The wrists are surrounded with silver cuffs that are flowing– like a robe. These are not flat painted hands– they are dimensional and painted with realistic details. The bell is trimmed in gold. The clapper inside the bell is bique porcelain and is hung with a gold cord. Offered here is this Vintage Mexico Last Supper Sculpture. Self-Standing Large Figure This is a very wonderful display piece for the Holiday's or anytime! Unsure of the date which this was made. And I am unsure of the material used to carve this. I have seen the same one on Ebay, and that one say's it is marble. This seems to be the exact figurine, by the looks and size. However I can't be sure that this is made of marble. It is quite heavy although, and the color is light. Regardless of what it is made from this sculpture is very nice and displays excellent. Vintage Catholic POCKET STATUE Metal ST. ANTHONY w/case tiny miniature
St. Anthony Vintage Catholic metal POCKET STATUE SHRINE The statue is of St. Anthony of Padua holding the Child Jesus. Its made of metal(I think its aluminum) and fairly flat like a medal. It has a loop at the top. So it could probably be used as a medal also. The back of the statue is printed with"I am a Catholic in case of an accident notify a priest" The tiny statue measures about 1 1/4" in height. It comes in a clear vinyl case. This is a very nice statue that I picked up from an estate sale. I believe that this is a statue of Saint Jude as they say he was related to Jesus and looked like him. The detail work is very well done and quite interesting on this item. This is a heavy statue even though it is hollow. It is made of some kind of heavy duty resin that is molded and it looks like wood that was carved. This item measures 12 3/4 tall by 4 1/2" at its widest part and is in mint condition. Vintage Japan Jesus with Lamb Planter Gold Trimmed
Beautiful old planter. 8 inches tall. Jesus is carrying a lamb in one hand, holding a shepherd's staff in the other. Solid, heavier piece of pottery with no chips. There is some crazing of the glaze, hardly noticeable unless you look very closely. Minor loss of paint on the back portion around the rim of the planter. Very nice patina, gold trim. Absolutely gorgeous. Vintage chalkware piece, depicting St. Anne teaching Mary from a book. The detail in their faces and clothing is really quite lovely. Stamped Production of Venetian Lido Company, Chicago, Ill. Back has some wear spots to finish as you will see in photos that follow. End of Anne's nose is worn down to the chalkware as is places on the book and Mary's hand. 12" tall. Appears to be hand painted. 1950's Concrete Garden Grotto Shrine Statue with Cherub Angel and Light
The cherub on rounded frame of this grotto and angel inside. Lend a charming air to this Grotto Shrine. Made of concrete, the piece is solid and heavy to bring everlasting beauty to your garden patio or home. The opening of the shrine is marbled blue like the sky. Up to 20" statue would fit inside. There are dirt stains from being outside. Very solid grotto in great vintage shape. The piece is wired for lighting. The electric cord has been cut off. The bulb is located inside under the dome. Vintage 1990s Madonna Virgin Mary Christ Child Jesus Sculpture Alabaster Stone
This very beautiful sculpture is of the Virgin Mary tenderly holding the Baby Jesus Christ child. In a loving pose. Even though the faces are in profile, the sweet loving gaze is obvious. The sculpture is done in a beautiful burgundy pink figured alabaster( stone(I erroneously believed it to be marble, but corrected by someone much more knowledgeable than myself-thank you) which enhances the overall beauty of the piece. The sculpture is in excellent vintage condition, and was produced sometime in the 1990s-at least that is when it was given to the previous owner. The piece measures nearly 5” tall and sits on a base measuring approximately 3” by 1.5” Please keep in mind this is a vintage item. Not a new item. OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE (THE VIRGIN) MOLD BLOWN GLASS DECANTER BOTTLE 12-3/4" TALL
OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE MOLD BLOWN GLASS BOTTLE Your bid is for a vintage glass decanter bottle in the form of a figure known as"Our Lady of Guadalupe" of Mexico. It stands 12-3/4 inches tall. Is mold blown with applied handle, rough pontil mark and hand formed mouth. Not sure what color this is. Several opinions given were in agreement that it is in the"Olive" range. I hope that helps. CONDITION: Stopper missing. As usual with all blown glass the imperfections are integral. ie. uneven base. Rough pontil, bubbles in glass. However, there are no chips, cracks or other types of damage. INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ITEM: There are several variations of this type of bottle. And some confusion about the purpose as well. I will attempt to clarify, as best I can, with images of a bottle(other than the decanter for sale) and information(both) ... morecourtesy of Manuel Ortega(born 1939-La Paz, Mexico. Mr. Ortega believes the production of this type of bottle began shortly after WWI in the region of central Mexico. The maker. However, is unknown. In the late 1920's a bottle maker in Mexico City began producing at least 1 but maybe 2 variations which were very similar to the original bottle and they were produced in 2 basic colors- Dark Brown and Amber. I have displayed below images of a Mexico City bottle in the dark color. The bottles that were produced at the Mexico City plant have raised lettering on the back(just above the base) which reads"HECHO EN MEXICO" The marked bottles, which were intended to and did contain wine, are mold blown, have an applied lip, tooled pontil mark, and a cork stopper. The stopper on the earliest bottles was sealed with wax with a figure of the Madonna impressed in it. Sometime after 1930 a decanter type bottle(as the one listed here) Was made in Mexico also and began appearing in the U.S. as well. Item is in good condition. Not sure what company makes it but stamped with R R on bottom. Made in Italy. Beautifully detailed piece. Appears to be hand carved and painted. But I'm not positive. Vintage older piece I believe. Item in good condition. Also engraved with a number on the bottom. See pics for description. Don't know why it is this way. Rare to find style!
