ESTATE ITEM: This is an interesting iconic religious image. Madonna and Child transfer( onto a block of wood. It is in very good condition- and has all the aspects of being handmade- yet. I cannot date it. The hanger on the back if a cloth material not metal. The overall size is 4 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 3/4" The image is Byzantine-style and coloring could suggest the representation of the black Madonna and Child. Up for auction is a handmade altar or spiritual tribute with stained glass behind the original clear glass door. The stained glass frames a gold wooden frame with a three dimensional statue of Jesus behind clear glass that is a replacement glass. The door opens and has a fastener. It is old and has some wear and repair. But is in overall good condition. It is peaceful and serene. The altar is 26" tall and is almost 15.5" wide. It is 4" deep. The stained glass is 9 1/4" tall by 7" wide. The gold frame is 8.5" tall by 6" wide. The inset panel with the statue of Jesus is 5 1/4" tall. The statue appears to be ceramic and has a dark brown antique pediment above it.

Chapel of hand-hewn wood and very ancient of between 52 and 54 centimetres in height that serves as an altar for the figure of the Blessed Virgin Immaculate Conception. The figure is also old and measured 21 centimeters are high crown. The crown also sent in the lot. They belong to an old house and they were in a particular altar of worship, the virgin is later but the chapel is prior to the Spanish Civil War and therefore had to be hidden in order to be preserved during this period. This reproduction is quite old. Made in Italy and is 3" by 4" in the original florentine frame. It is valued at much more but the paper backing on the frame has a very slight 1/2" crack which is barely noticeable so I have reduced the price. The art work and frame are in excellent condition just as it was when I bought it. It is exquisite. The original oval frame from Florence Italy has a slight crack in the upper left. Other than that the print and frame are in excellent condition.

This is a unique and Hand Wood Carved Nativity Wall hanger featuring three wise men and Mary Joseph and Jesus as a baby. It has a 3D effect with each head sticking out from backing. It is a good size measuring 19" long and 9" wide and 2.25" wide. It can stand by itself or be hung on the wall. Heavy measuring approx. 3.5 pounds. In research I found that these wood carvings could possibly be Haitian art. There were a few wood carvings of religious scenes with similar stars on top and same type of look. Not sure but its the closest I found through my research as I could not find this at all. This is unique. There appears to be some restoration to the horse's hindquarters. Painted egg tempera. Gold leaf and gesso on board. Antique hand painted Orthodox Icon I know this came from Turkey near the Black sea north of Istanbul. The listing before was of St Barbara but have found out it is in fact. St. Kyriake(Domnica) the Great Virgin Martyr of Nicomedia"Saint Kyriake was the only child of Dorotheus and Eusebia. Since she was born on a Sunday(Kyriake. In Greek) she was named Kyriake. One day a wealthy magistrate wished to betroth Kyriake to his son. Not only was she young and beautiful. But her parents were wealthy, and the magistrate wished to control that wealth. The magistrate went to her parents to request her hand, but St Kyriake told him that she wished to remain a virgin, for she had dedicated herself to Christ. The magistrate was angered by her words. So he went to the emperor Diocletian to denounce the saint and her parents as Christians who mocked ... morethe idols, and refused to offer sacrifice to them. Diocletian sent soldiers to arrest the family and have them brought before him. He asked them why they would not honor the gods which he himself honored. They told him that these were false gods. And that Christ was the one true God. Dorotheus was beaten until the soldiers grew tired and were unable to continue. Since neither flattery nor torment had any effect. Diocletian sent Dorotheus and Eusebia to Melitene on the eastern border between Cappadocia and Armenia. Then he sent St Kyriake to be interrogated by his son-in-law and co-ruler Maximian at Nicomedia. Maximian urged her not to throw her life away. Promising her wealth and marriage to one of Diocletian's relatives if she would worship the pagan gods. St Kyriake replied that she would never renounce Christ, nor did she desire worldly riches. Enraged by her bold answer, Maximian had her flogged. The soldiers who administered this punishment became tired, and had to be replaced three times. Shamed by his failure to overcome a young woman. Maximian sent St Kyriake to Hilarion, the eparch of Bithynia, at Chalcedon. He told Hilarion to either convert Kyriake to paganism, or
