This early 1900's oak bench is hard to find in this great condition. It is functional and can be used in many diffierent areas. It was last used as a waiting bench for a lawyer's office. The bench is in great condition being both sturdy and solid. The wear is appropiate and consistent with the age and use. There is a minor professional repair on each arm but no further repairs or damage are noted. It has a fine older finish with a nice patina. The stretcher base extends between the legs the length of the base. There are thirtythree(33) back slats. The slats and seat bottom are both contoured so as to provide a comfortable siting. Antique Cast Iron Industrial Adjustable Swing Arm Stool (wall or table mount)
I will start by saying that I aquired(2) of these industrial stool sometime back at a local sale that was selling some items that had be salvage from some old industrial plant. This auction is for one of these stools and the other is listed in a seperate auction. This is a large cast iron swing arm stool with what looks like a maple seat. This stool would have mounted either on the wall. A large table leg, or on a large piece of industrial equipement. It has a screw up adjustable seat and a swivel bracket on the swing arm so it could be positioned in several positions. The seat is 11" in diameter and 1 1/2" thick. The adjustable height of the seat is that it could be adjusted up to a height of at least(6) inches. The swing arm and wall or table mount bracket combined are(14) inches long. There is no damage to this item. It has a ... morefew specks of white paint on it and there is some minor rust specks here and there. It is not only a handsome piece. But very practical. I think it has been used or displayed in every room of my home over the years. I would imagine this dates to the early 1900's. Measurements are 14" long(top) x 10" wide x 10 1/4" tall. With a thick 1" board on top. It is solid oak- partially quartersawn- and has a wonderful patina with beautiful grain. It appears to be handmade and very nicely crafted, with even some nails that look squared. There are small felt pads on the bottom of each foot which I added so it wouldn't scratch my hardwood floors. ... moreThese can be easily removed. The condition of this piece is Excellent. 1930's Footstool Horseshoe Shaped Western Style
Built in the 1930's. This is a rounded footstool which stands 9 1/2" tall. The wooden end pieces are shaped like horseshoes, with small tabs at the end on the front of each leg for stability. Length of actual stool is 13 3/4" and about 7 1/4" wide. The top is done in a brown leather-like vinyl, edged with studs. At one time, one end cracked in half(the wood) Someone did an excellent repair job, although crack is visible, it is completely stable(I've had teenagers sit on this footstool! There were two small tabs placed on the top of the curve at each end of the wood. I believe these were added later to give stability. The bottom is covered with a black dustcloth. Oak stool. Standing 25 inches tall approx with a slightly sloping buttoned velvet top surface. Ideally, this needs replacing although what is there is original by all accounts and should clean up. This is in good condition apart from a damage to the front top lower edge. My joiner says that it is an"easy repair" This piece has not been tarted up in any way and would respond well to some simple TLC. This is a heavy item(6kg without any packaging) hence the P&P costs. Antique Victorian Foot Stool Cast Iron Legs Asian Motif Needlepoint
Here is a nice victorian footstool that features cast iron legs. Beaded decorative edge and an asian style needlepoint cover. One corner of the needlepoint cover worn and I have it pictured. We were told this was made around 1960. Made in the early 1900's by the Henry Holtzman Sons Piano Company, which operated in Columbus Ohio between 1893 and 1959. This highly desirable company produced piano covers, stools, chairs, benches and cabinets. This piano stool is made of solid walnut with beautiful contoured parts and turned legs. The legs rest on cast/iron and glass ball and claw feet. The rotary seat makes it possible to raise and lower the seat and is functioning well. The cast iron bracked is marked Holtzman& Sons Columbus and the center wood is stamped NUT.PAT. JUNE 18 08. The stool has not been restored. And shows wear to the finish and some nicks and scratches commensurate with its age.
