There is a small drawer under that is suitable for writing material or vanity objects. Along with this Desk comes a Teak wood chair made by John Stuart INC in the Mid Century. Both items match each other even though they were not made as a set. New fabric has been added to the chair seat. The colors of the fabric are black and white. A special blend of oils were used to permanently restore the finish back to its original luster. The set has not been refinished. There is slight normal antique wear to the desk top but the restoration has brought the finish together making it an even shine. When this is done to new furniture it's called Antiquing and its a very popular style. The Chair is sturdy and in fantastic condition. Again. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor.
