For auction is a Lot of Four(4) Vintage Amoco/American Oil Co. Road Maps- Pennsylvania 1952. New Jersey 1952, New York 1953 and Delaware/D.C.Maryland/Virginia and West Virginia from 1952. All of the maps were copyrighted by Rand McNally& Co. and printed in the U.S.A. These maps are used and show a small amount of wear but are in good shape for the age and quality of the paper. All are clean and completely legible. There is a 1' tear on the PA map along a crease and folded corner near the town of Dubois. I don't see any other existing tears but the paper is fragile- especially along the folds. Most of the items I sell are from estate sales. Auctions, flea markets, etc. I clean them as necessary to properly evaluate the condition and allow you to judge the actual item rather than a previous owner’s dirt. I want to know if the typical ... moredirt and grime and/or harmless surface rust is covering any damage. All look to be in very good to excellent condition but I am not a collector or fully opened each and every map. looking at them they seem to all date back to at least the 1960's sometime or a couple early 1970s. Pair Vintage Mobil Texaco 4 States Road Maps VTG FREE SHIPPING
Remember the good old days. Before GPS, before smart phones, before the Internet really took hold? Offered here today are a pair of reminders from those days of yesteryear. Here are two maps in excellent condition. Having only aged on the outside where they are exposed to the elements of a traveling station wagon. The one on the left is a 1971 map of the great state of Arizona, distributed by Texaco through their retail fuel stations across the United States, but more specifically in the southwest. It is your standard pleated fold-out map showing the full state on one side, showing a multitude of cities and towns from overflowing Phoenix and Tucson, to the little podunk towns of White Cone and Santa Claus. Small tho they may be, I love those little towns. You can find so much value and history there. On the other side are close-ups of the ... moreTucson and Phoenix area, and layouts of Lake Mead, Wupatki and Chiracahua National Monuments, and the Petrified Forest National Park. The map on the right is a smaller one. Distributed by Mobil in 1975, Rand McNally. Although younger than the other map, it is a bit more used, but still is in excellent condition. It, too, is a pleated map, displaying the layout of Arizona and New Mexico on one side, and Nevada and Utah on the other, excellent resources for that historian in all of us.
