They are all on the same roll, this includes the metal wall mount and you flip the maps over the roll to display the next map. This item is used but still in good condition, I did not see any rips or tears at all. This is a markable map that you can use water soluable ink with. There is one map that has two light blue circles where the previous owners marked the map and did not wipe away the ink. The circles are about 1 1/2" or so big they are faint but can be noticed. VINTAGE SCHOOL HOUSE WALL MAP CASE w/5 MAPS I've had this map case on my wall for over 15 years. And am ready for a change. Bought in Phoenix. AZ from an antique dealer who told me he got it out of a little school house in Minnesota. He was going to make the case into a spice rack. So I saved it: I have only been able to add the total number of photos to this listing that I am allowed to. In order to see ALL of photos please go to my Picasa site. When opened the case. Plus the door, hangs down 3' The case is 3 3/4" deep. There are ... more2(original? eye bolts at the top of the case. I use 2 lag bolts(through these eye bolts) into the studs in my wall to hang. See photos. It is quite the eye catcher& conversation maker! I also use the top of the case as a shelf for other items. This case can hold 8 maps total. There are 5 vintage. Used maps that are included. Each map has a peg that fits into a hole on the left side of the inside of the case. On the right side are original metal pieces that hold the map in place. There is a metal long piece that slides out. You can then roll the map& place the right side map peg into this metal piece. Then slide the metal piece into the wood slot. There are metal'circles' that rotate over the long piece to keep them from sliding out. There should be 8 long metal pieces. But I only have 7. Please see the photos. I think these maps could be pulled down& then let roll up on their own as a shade would. But I don't do that. I always unroll& roll the maps up by hand. The new owner may feel more comfortable doing it the normal way. There are 7 original pieces of wood that separate each of the maps. There is a hook at each outside end of the case to secure t

Early 1900's School wall Maps
These maps we're discovered in the original wooded box that once hung in a school classroom. These were from the old spring loaded pull down style. I have taken 2 of the maps and framed them for my own home. Great conversation piece. While I can't identify the publisher. The copyright reads 1914. Given the era, these maps show countries that no longer exist and many area are incorrectly scaled(limited tools at the time) As you can see there is some wear on all sides but that gives these even more character. This is a very. Very old school geography map.a Eliza Palmer of Thorndike, Maine wrote her name on the inside in 1848.the paper rag paper. The maps are in wonderful color.the pages are worn, some holes. Some mending with tape. But here is a map that was used by Eliza when Oregon territory, missouri territory, Wisconsin territory, when California was an unexplored region. We have for your consideration this fantastic and wonderful estate find( Antique School Maps over 36" wide~Wood Wall Storage Case) We found this from an antique dealer in Arcadia Valley in South Eastern Missouri who told me that it came from an old school house in the area. The antique Map Wall case includes maps of the USA~ASIA~AFRICA& EUROPE. Please Note: This is a large listing with much to read and see. To the best of our ability. We wanted you to really experience this map set. So that you can make an accurate decision on your investment. The Custom made case is made of a hard wood(possibly oak) It was manufactured as you can see by the Brass Identification Plate by the A.H. ANDREWS CO. CHICAGO ILL. The case may have had a few repairs in the last 100 years or so. But over all is in good usable condition. The right front panel ... morehas some light surface buckling only on the outside surface. The inside looks nice. There is a small piece of wood or sliver that has been cracked and broken off on the back edge of the top board. Not noticeable and does not affect the use of the cabinet) and you will see a small paint splatter specks mostly on that same top board or what you might call a shelf area. The outside dimensions measures approximately 45 1/4 inches wide by 14 inches tall by 4 inches deep. To explore the maps you simply release the hooked hasps located on each outside edge of the door. The door is mounted with good strong hinges will lower into its resting place revealing the maps. This nice old case also has a functional lock on the front top of the drop down door. The front lock cover is made of what appears to be Copper. It uses a very basic"L" shaped key that should be easy to find or even have one made. The back of the case is still in good usable condition although it does show its age. This case holds 4 maps total. And all appear to be original to the case. Each map has been mounted to an antique spring roller that was manufactured by the HARTSHORN'S ROLLER COMPANY with Patent dat

They were owned by Sgt Harland Asher, Officer Candidate and include his class notebooks, class curriculum week by week from Oct 1942 through his final exam Jan 1943, and the best part, over 25 maps. As an officer trainee at the Infantry school, he had to learn how to read maps and coordinate with other battalions and to this end they had alot of simulated battles on the Ft Benning grounds between different regiments and on different terrain. The curriculum consisted mostly of combat weapons training with M-1's. Browning.30 calibers, Antitank.37 mm guns, and 81 mm Antitank weapons training. All of the training courses were ... moreall done in the field, and the maps you get in this archive correspond to each week's terrain exercise training regimen. There are also accompanying week by week course manuals in the form of hour by hour schedules for each week, and also stapled mimeographed sheets that begin with basic combat tactics and proceed to field training with weapons and then coordinated field maneuvers between different battalions. As an example one week had him, as a member of 1st Battalion 1st Infantry, relieving 2nd Battalion, Company A, on Singleton Hill, who were engaged with the enemy which was holding on Rivet Ridge. Special Map 16 was to be used for this excercise, and the Company's A& B of 1st Battalion were to proceed at timed intervals on different flanks under heavy artillery fire. Vintage Metal School Pull Down Map Display / Rack / Holder Holds up to 8 Maps
Up for your consideration is a vintage map holder/rack from a school here in NW Ohio. It holds up to 8 pull down style maps. It is in good vintage condition with some signs of wear. No hardware is included with this. The school used'S' hooks to hang it and that seemed to work well for them. It does have little rubber bumpers at the bottom. The little round buttons that hold the maps are about 1 3/8" diameter 42" wide 21 1/8" tall about 1" total thickness. Thanks for taking a look. The Africa map(which is much clearer than the picture shows) is not part of the original maps in this case. I believe 7 of the maps are original. The rod is missing from the bottom of some. There are 13 maps measuring 36" tall X 53" wide. They are in good condition, the last photo shows damage. All other of the maps are frayed at the end of the canvas as to be expected after all the years of use. The stand is not original but will be included. Great for large rooms displays. Very old book from 1852. Mitchell's School Atlas, Thomas Cowperthwait& Co. 28 pages. Complete with all 32 maps and tables, but there might have been a cover page that was ripped out. The spine is still holding the pages well, but the pages with the tables before the maps are tearing at the spine. Lots of staining and age wear. Maps are in very good condition with minimal staining or rips. The hard cover is warped slightly. Size is approx. 9.5" x 11.5"

c1890s, GREENWICH, On 2 Large Segmented Maps, Stanford’s London School Board Map
A hugely detailed Edward Stanford map of the area(see scan of part of one of the sheets) The School Board maps were originally produced in 1877 for the School Board of London; they show the locations of permanent. Temporary and inspected voluntary schools plus possible new sites– all against the background of a very detailed street plan. The basis for the map is the six-inch to a mile map of London first published by Stanford’s in 1872, but this map has definitely been updated from then. The western map of Greenwich shows Tower Bridge(I think added in) which was built 1886 to 1894; the Greenwich foot tunnel, buitk 1899 to 1902 isn’t shown; I also believe the School Board was dispelled in 1904 so for these various reasons I’m estimating the date of these maps as 1890s. Condition is very good indeed. The paper maps have been dissected into ... moresegments and mounted on linen. As originally issued. The western sheet measures approx 72cm x 110cm and has 16 segments The map itself is evenly toned and remains clean and very fresh in appearance. One or two light marks, but minor. There is light tanning along the horizontal central fold. The linen showing through is slightly dust soiled in places, particularly the horizontal central fold, but overall very good and without holes. Top left corner tip has been bent over and broken. On the verso it’s lightly tanned but very clean and flat. The eastern sheet again measures approx 72cm x 110cm and has 16 segments. Plus a little tab at the top to take in a bit of Woolwich. The map itself is evenly toned and remains clean and very fresh in appearance. There is light tanning along the horizontal central fold. The linen showing through is slightly dust soiled in places, particularly the horizontal central fold, but overall very good and without holes. On the verso it’s lightly tanned but very clean and flat. Both sheets have marbled cards for the outside of the folded end segments with some light handling marks. They cover a pretty wide area extending N-S from East India Dock Road

Plus two more that are also VERY COOL The first map is a colorful vintage map from Nystrom. It is in good condition. It has the soviet union on it and Arabia much of the old African countries. Very cool to decorate with and works great as a pull down school map. It is in good condition. The Second map is another colorful vintage map from Nystrom. It is a good pictorial relief with merging colors of the United States. Includes population studies and ocean depths. Great for school presentations or as a teaching aid. This one is partially torn away from the bottom dowel rod and could be shortened. And repaired. The Third map includes the colonies during ... morethe early 1700s. Documented within the inscription and drawings are the English settlements. The journey of Captain John Smith throughout West Virginia and Maryland, and the early settlement areas of the Dutch colonies in New Netherland located along the Hudson River and Long Island.
