2 Vintage Road Maps Sohio Oil Gas Company Graphics Car Automobile Transportation
Here's 2 vintage road maps of the state of Ohio from the Sohio Oil Company. Both have a road map of the state on the front on the back are smaller maps of Akron. Cincinnati, Canton, Columbus, Cleveland and others. They are both printed by the Rand McNally Co. and were lithographed in the United States. The white front one has a section showing events of 1978. The other one is not dated at all. It may be 1949. The smaller maps have a number sequence on the bottom of each with 49 as a common number. It is the more attractive one with color picture icons across 4 different state images divided into agriculture, industry, recreational and historical. The first one measures 34-3/4" by 26-1/2" The other one is 31-7/8" by 24-7/8" These both came out of an estate. The dates I have listed are what I found under population, the latest census. It includes: Mobilgas. Ohio& adjoining states, 1940, very nice, but does have writing along border Mobilgas. PA, Delaware& Chesapeake Bay area, did not see a date, outside is dirty and edge is rough, but inside, map is good Mobilgas. Michigan& adjoining states, 1950, edges are a little dirty, inside is nice Mobilgas. New York, didn't see a date, outside is a little dirty, with small tear in corner, map is nice Mobilgas. Ohio& adjoining states, 1950, water stains, edges are rough, outside is dirty, water staining on some parts of map Sunoco PA map& historical scenic guide. Vtg Phillips 66 1940s? Arizona Texaco 1970 New Mexico Complimentary Road Maps
Remember when you could get a free map at the gas station! This pair of vintage complimentary road maps was given out by gas stations back in the day! The TEXACO New Mexico map is a 1970 edition. I could not find an issue date on the Phillips 66 Arizona/New Mexico map. However all population numbers were from the 1940 census. Both maps have some wear on the inside creases and a couple of small tears. Overall they are in good condition considering the age. And are from a smoke free home. 1950s 1960 Mixed Lot Of 3 Vintage Road Maps Texaco Sunoco Calso Gas & Oil
This is a mixed lot of 3 vintage road maps of New York. The East Coast and the New England parts of the U.S.A. The first map is a 1960 Texaco Oil map of New York. There is a small hole on the crease where the map folds over but is otherwise in good condition, very detailed and easy to read. The 2nd map is a 1951 Sunoco Oil map of the eastern states of the U.S.A. It covers all the states along the east coast. This map is in very good condition with no rips, tears, holes, or stains. Also very detailed with a milage chart of the distances between different cities among the eastern half of the country. The 3rd map is a 1953 Calso Gasoline and RPM Motor Oil& Lubricants map of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This map is a booklet of different maps and also contains the points of interest and landmarks that accompany the different ... moremaps among it's pages. Very cool and also in very good condition with no rips, tears, holes or missing pages. Just some very slight color discoloration from age in spots. 3 very neat and interesting vintage road maps.
