These are 1931 maps of the United States. They are from a scarce Cram's Atlas. The maps measure 11.25 X 15 inches. They are in near mint condition showing only minor handling. Buyer will get a printed out page size copy of the index page. This is superior to any"Certificate of Authenticity" which are normally printed out on the sellers own computer. We send this to prove map was extracted from this extremely rare atlas and to help with insurance appraisals as the map will surely increase in value. There are a few reasons this map is rare. And more difficult to obtain than a Cram's map of the late 1800's. In 1931 the United States and the World was in a catastrophic depression. This is the first revised edition of Mitchell's School Atlas after the very rare first of 1839. All of the maps are dated 1839 save two(Great Britain and Germany) which are dated 1840. The Republic of Texas appears on three maps(on two sheets) in these pages. The map of North America, the map of the United States and ... moreTexas, and the inset map of Mexico(pictured) In each Texas is in its large format extending to the Rio Grande with the capitol at Austin. This is an original atlas published in 1839 or 1840. Not a facsimile or reproduction. CONDITION: Original printed paper on boards with a leather spine. Covers darkened. Spotted and faded but legible. Only occasional foxing to the maps, a slight nick to a few leaves, else largely clean and bright. In an era when young scholars routinely used blank map backs for penmanship practice often destroying them in the process, this example is almost untouched, having but a few sample numbers and a name on the verso of a single page. The maps are book prints from a variety of antique geography books. Most are political maps. But there are some physical maps as well. The bulk of these maps show groups of states(ie. New England, Mid-Atlantic, etc. There are also several duo-fold maps of North America/United States. The condition of the maps varies from tattered to very good. These are five atlas maps. Mostly of the world, also the United States. They are dated from 1942 through 1947. I am offering them all together because if you have an interest. You will like all of these. A couple are in rough shape, a couple are in good shape. None are museum quality but they all contain interesting facts and bits of information- many contain very vibrant color maps of the world as it was in that year. Someone had a keen interest to have these atlases. One has a good bit of information within the United States of battles which took place, when and where. This one is crammed with information about the U.S. This must be one of the first driving atlases, because it is sincerely devoted to that. Good condition. Map 3. Map of the United States with Historical Maps with historical data on States and Territories Air Lines Distances Population of Cities and Towns Distributed by Newspapers Maintaining The Washington Service Bureau. Date unknown. This one is falling apart at all the seams. But if you were to put it on some backing, this one is crammed with old information regarding battles, territories,etc. Map 4. Map of the World With Flags of the Leading Nations and Compendium of Geographical Facts. This one is by the same maker as map 3 and it is just as crammed with information but it is in better condition. This one also has information regarding political territories, battles haven taken place, dates, etc. Map 5. Clear Type Folder Atlas of the World date unknown. Similar, this is a big poster sized atlas, this one is the best condition of them all. This one is a map, with smaller maps, not lots of information like the others.
