The stunning accent features a large solid faceted cut glass knob atop an ornately decorated base. The interior of the base is threaded. In overall very good condition with light general surface scratches. There is a chip/internal fracture on one of the faceted points as pictured. There is a crack and a small loss along the base of the glass. Scattered small chips throughout. The metal base exhibits loss to the bronzed finish. This condition is consistent with age and use. Antique Spelter Cherub Cupid Newel Post Gas Art Nouveau Lamp. This lamp was purchased as a base and recently restored and wired. The shade is a antique stained glass tulip lamp shade that shows some age(no cracks or chips in the glass) but the coloring suits the base nicely. The lamp measures 18 5/8" tall. Monumental Victorian Nouveau Bronze Patinated Spelter Figural Lady Newel Lamp
Offered for your consideration is a very large newel lamp of the finest quality formed by a neoclassical art nouveau lady lifting a vessel atop her head. From which 5 vines emerge with lighted flowers at their tips. She stands on a black wooden plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter, due to the weight, but perhaps it's bronze. The lamp is monumental in size, about 50 1/2" high by 16" wide. The piece is in remarkably good condition. It looks like portions of some leaves may be missing on the vines and around the sockets at the top. The only other possible flaw I see is a line across the base of the woman's toes on her left proper foot where they join her draped robe/gown. It may have been there from the time of casting. As it shows evidence of age. The wooden base shows a line from shrinkage over time, but is still ... morecompletely stable. The patination is lovely, with only minimal signs of wear, likely the result of a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. The wiring was recently professionally updated/replaced with fine silk cord and a new plug. I do not believe that the lamp originally had coordinating shades. Per se; I suspect that regular light bulbs were used. As its purpose was to provide useful illumination. Alternatively, a variety of old and reproduction bulbs& bulb covers are available from various sources, if you do not already have them and care for that"look" If you are the winning bidder. Here is a beautiful Art Nouveau sculpture from about 1900. It is titled on the base on a metal plaque"LA ROSE" indicating a French origin. Gorgeous woman in flowing robe standing on a lily pad. Holding a mirror in one hand and rose in the other. Made of white metal, it has an original patination mimicking bronze. Measures 19" tall. Condition is excellent, no chips, cracks, damage or losses. There is some wear to patinated finish, as shown on legs of woman, etc. Nice weighted base. This is a high quality sculpture preserved in wonderful original condition. Although this was never wired for a lamp, it is the style of diaphanous women statues used on newel posts at the Belle Epoque. Unsigned as far as I can see. Vintage newel post section from an old building in NYC. Not sure of exact age or type of wood. 12.5" tall. The base is 9.25" in diameter. The middle section at its widest is 21" in circumference. Some distressing(chips in stain. Crackling in finish, etc. that should be expected in a vintage item such as this. No major damage. Stained a dark color, but can easily be sanded and refinished. Great old piece to display on a mantle as is, or place a pillar candle on top of it for a unique look. So cool!

It consists of a multi turn newel post and two matching banister posts. They are in the original varnish finish and they came right off the staircase. In shiny condition, but you will definitely want to plug the holes where the rails went in it and finish off the sides. Also where the staircase it has been cut out and around, but everyone does their own adaptations. The newel post has an approximately 6 inch block. The size of the block on top of the newel post is 6 inches. The banisters have a 4 inch block and ball. The height is approximately 54 inches on the newel post and 52 inches on the banister post. You are getting all three for one money. I have seen these sell for all kinds of money from some of the higher price dealers, but we are reasonable on this sort of thing. It measures aprox. 43 3/4" high x 8" square at the top, 7 3/4" square at the bottom, the notch on the bottom is 3 1/4" deep x 6 1/2" high. Two Beautiful Newel Posts!
These are two beautiful matching newel posts. I believe the carved tops are solid wood. The posts are the same height with the bottoms cut differently. After refinishing. These would make a very impressive addition to your home. The posts are in good condition with typical wear, nicks, scratches, nail holes and cracks. Each top has a crack from normal aging. The one post has three decorative medallions on the sides and the other has two. The posts are listed as pick up only, because I do not know what the shipping costs are. If you are interested in shipping I would be glad to find out the shipping costs. The price is for both posts.

Antique Crystal Acorn Newel Post Finial - Beautiful & Large, 8.5 " x 5"
This is a gorgeous antique solid crystal finial for a newel post. In the traditional acorn style. It is quite large at about 8.5" tall with base and 5" wide. The solid brass base is about 2" x 2" and is in excellent condition. The crystal has one very small chip near the top and some teeny scratches(hardly visible. There are also some small particles suspended inside the solid crystal. The finial weighs 10 pounds.

Using the word Fantastic when describing antiques is a little overdone but in this case I think it is accurate. A high quality burl walnut staircase newel post. Circa 1860's. Super piece from what must have been a wonderful Victorian home. Found in Minnesota. Overall dimensions are 51 high and about 12 inch diameter. Aged Gothic Newel Post / Handrail in Walnut
Up for auction is a beautiful Gothic newel post and handrail in Walnut. This has a great weathered look and would also be appropriate in a Garden. As the walnut should last many years. Post is in nice but weather condition with a small piece of walnut molding that makes up the Gothic arch missing as well as trim piece that is missing at the bottom. Post is 38" tall at the handrail, 45" tall at the newel finial attachment and 9" deep. Newel is 27" long. The shaft is fluted with another carved flower in the middle. The corners have beveled edges. The base is notched for the step but it is freestanding. It measures 47.25 inches tall. It is 8 inches square at the base and 6.5 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Incredible Antique Walnut Newel Post, Late 1800's NNP68
Striking antique walnut newel post dating from the late 1800's. The newel begins with sloping top and fluted details. Intricate rosettes ornament each side of the square post. The rest of the newel's substantial silhouette features chamfered edges and grooved detailing. The boxed newel has been stained a medium brown and is in very good antique condition with the typical wear and tear as shown, with a crack in one of the rosettes(as pictured. This is a beautiful staircase set which dates to the late 1800s from a brownstone home in Harlem Newyork.It has a super nice lnewel post which is around 62 inches tall and 51 inches with a notch out for handrail and a small cutout at base for stepThe long handrail is around 10ft long-the handrails are very nice at around 4 inches wide and 5 inches high with a grove in it for hand to wrap around.They are not the common handrails you find and the balusters are very different as pictures show they are super nice.There are appxt 15 balusters which are 30 to 31 inches tall all depends how much you sink into bottom of handrail.They are also around 4 inches wide my guess is that it is walnut or chestnut its a very darker wood but this is only my guess.I also have other sets from a home that was next door which is almost identical but made of I believe ... moreoak and another listing for walnut or chestnut again only a guess.In this listing it is for what I have listed the other listings can be seen in my ebay store.I also added a picture of the other sets i have listed but this is for only 2 posts-1 handrail and 15 beautiful balusters with some nicks and dings here and there but mist are complete but remember they are over 100 years old Total balusters with the other listings are around 65 with more handrails and newels.This item is large and heavy so a pickup is ok but shipping will only be done if you can provide a shipper to pickup from my home.For any other info email or call Vinny 1-631-300-7403 thanks.

Antique chestnut wood newel post 48" tall historic vintage architectural salvage
Beautiful historic/ antique chestnut wood newel post. Post was painted black previously but has been completely hand refinished. Stained and polyurethaned and is in great condition! Exact age is unknown but is at least over 100 years old and still very sturdy! The bottom corner is notched to fit over the corner of a step(see photos) The newel post measures 4 feet tall and approx. 6" wide in the center section. There is a small portion of the circular rosette missing(see last photo) but is not noticeable at all. The side shown without the rosette is the side that the handrail would attach to.
