Description This is a massive antique newel post that was salvaged from a Johnstown. PA Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is unpainted. The base is notched for the first two steps and there is a channel cut into the back side where it joined the railing. The base is square then on the shaft. The corners taper up ending at an 8 sided cap. It's a really neat design. There are nice moldings at the top. It is simple yet classic and elegant. It measures 75 inches tall. And 10 square at the base. It weighs over 70 lbs so please enquire for a shipping quote. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. Description This is a nice antique newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is currently painted brown. The cap and the corners of the shaft are trimed in reel and bead molding. The top has bullseyes on 3 sides and Eastlake beveling at the corners. The shaft has fluting. It is not notched for the step. It measures 47.5 inches tall. 9 square at the largest part just below the cap, and is 7 inches square at the base. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a few nail holes. Please see the pictures carefully. Ref: 71202 Shipping. Newel Post Lamp- Grecian Style Caryatid Lamp
You are bidding on a Newel Post lamp in the shape of a Classical Caryatid. This lamp is solid metal and was originally an oil lamp. It has since been hardwired for electricity. It does not currently work and needs to be re-wired. The glass globe that sits on top of this lamp is a little cracked and I am not sure that it is the original globe that the lamp came with. Other than that. This lamp is in incredibly good shape. It stands at about 36in tall and is pretty heavy and solid. Victorian Newel Post Lamp Shade- Crystal, Cut Glass
For your bidding consideration. What I am identifying as a cut crystal lamp shade for a newel post lamp as found on Victorian staircases. I believe my identification to be correct; however, I cannot guarantee same. The shade is definitely heavy weight blown crytal and is deeply cut-not pressed! The cutting work comes to a rather sharp point on the lamp tip, while the base appears flared to adapt to some form of retaining ring. Glass is crystal clear and in excellent damage free condition. Light refraction from the cutting gives a prism effect showing various color flashes. Dimensions: base ID 2 5/8 inches, OD 2 7/8 inches X 6 ½ inches height. Solid Walnut ball. Newel post finial unfinished. I will make however many that are ordered. This ball finial is approx. 5 3/8" in diameter and about 2 pounds in weight. The fourth picture is a 7 inch cherry, 5 3/8 inch walnut and a 4 inch oak ball. It has a small flat bottom. You can buy it smooth or with rings. You can buy it in walnut, oak, maple, cherry or mahogany. Mahogany and cherry will cost more. I can make them bigger or smaller if needed up to approximately 7 inches in some of the woods. BEAUTIFUL PAIR ANTIQUE WHITE OVERLAY NEWEL POST FINIALS
This is beautiful matching pair of Newel post finials from the mid-1800s. They retain their original brass fittings and are made of a shiny layer of white glass over a clear glass interior. The white overlay glass has been cut through in circular rings of punties. One measured 6-1/2 inches tall. While the other is slightly smaller at 6-3/8 inches. This is to be expected in hand blown glass. Both have a maximum diameter of approximately 3 inches. Both are in excellent condition with no damage to the glass. One has a small open bubble on the lower edge of one punty(see last picture) This resulted when a bubble in the clear glass was cut when the punty was cut into the glass. It does not go through the glass and there are no associated cracks or chips. This is the way the finial was made some 150 years ago. The brass fittings are in good condition ... morewith only a couple of tiny nicks from long ago. This is a beautiful set of white overlay Newel post finials. Description This is a newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and was painted and stripped. The original finial is intact. The top has 2 carved panels on each of three sides. All are different. The shaft is fluted with beveled corners. It measures 57.25 inches tall and 57.25 inches square at the base and 6 at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a few chips and nicks. One of the base pieces may be a replacement. Solid OAK Newel POSTS and STAIRCASE RAILING with Spindles =
For sale is a nice solid oak Railing and newel posts. The larger newel post is 51" tall and 8" square at the widest. The top to it is not original. A light was mounted there at one time. The electrical lines were still inside when I removed the post. Other than that it is in good shape needing cleaned and maybe refinished. Depending on your look. The railing is in great shape but one spindle does have a split in it. It is not broken but one does have a split. It is 110" long. The top newel post is 37"tall from floor to top. Then it has the extra length that would wrap down the side of the Stairs. It is only 5" square but the ball on top of it is original and can be used to replace the unoriginal one at the bottom. It is made of beautifully detailed spelter casting as you can see from the close up photo of the woman. We haven't cleaned or worked on the statue at all. The base is 7" in diameter. Description This is nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of walnut and is painted brown. It has the original cap. It has a light but it is missing. The top has large bullseyes on 3 sides. The shaft is fluted and the corners are trimmed in reel and bead molding. It is notched for the step but is freestanding. It measures 48.25 inches tall. 7.5 square at the base and 6 square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. DESCRIPTION- 618: Looking for a new forever home is this rescued ART NOUVEAU SPELTER(zinc alloy) metal FRENCH NEWEL POST LAMP of a FIGURAL LADY titled"GLOIRE" or Glory in French. Long haired maiden with flowing robes exposes one breast as she raises her arm and gracefully points her finger. She is standing in her bare feet and the sun peeks out from the other side of her robe. Embossed round stamp on piece saying"PARIS" and also"Fabrication Francaise" and"Made in France" with a doubled handled cup logo with an"M" in the center with laurels around it. Also signed on back by artist but it is where the cord comes through the piece and I cannot make out the signature. See all photos as ... moreI capture all angles of this wonderful piece. Light itself has five bendable petal base and a press in/out switch. Flame shaped bulb included. This lamp is in working condition. Older style cord and two prong plug. Pure art nouveau in form, the spelter lady figure is stunning and displays wonderfully. For the most part the lamp is in good vintage condition, note the golden bronze finish is deteriorating in numerous areas and base metal is exposed. This distressing of the finish only adds to its appeal. Her hand looks intact where finger is pointing but note, there appears under magnification to be a tiny sliver of metal missing in her palm, between the thumb and pointed finger, see photo. I had to pay quite a bit to rescue her but she was magnificent and I could not just leave her there. She deserves to be in a home where she is appreciated for her quality and beauty. Art Nouveau Spelter Lady Woman Newel Lamp with amberina shades
This is a beauty and my first figural lamp. But. I'm thinning my collection to make room for new ones so I am letting someone else enjoy her now. She stands 22" tall and is in amazing condition. No breaks, or repairs in the spelter or brass vines. All the leaves are still there as well. She still retains her original base and pull switch, and it still works! The amerina shades are lovely. ONE petal on the shade(see pic#8) has been repaired. I had this lamp nearly 20 years before I noticed it& it is difficult to even photograph it. It is not a distraction.

Antique Pair 2 of Acorn or Pinecone Brass Bronze Newel Post Cap Finials Germany
This pair is 3 1/2" high. not counting the screw) 2 1/2" across center, 6 3/4" around middle of acorn or pinecone. Screw is 1 1/4" all the way into the cap, about 1" extends beyond edge of cap. Marked Germany on each. They weigh 9.5oz each. Solid brass or bronze, a magnet does not stick, but it does to the screw part. There is some rust on the underside as shown. These would have many uses, great on a newel post, or a broken pediment on a secretary or chest or bed, on the top of bed posts. The possibilities are endless. I don't really know what to call them, acorns, pinecones, pineapples, or artichokes. LOL just threw that last one in for laughs. Just drill a pilot hole and screw it in. Antique NEWEL POST CAP Stair Railing! Here we have an Antique Stair Railing Newel Post Cap which I believe is Mahogany? Beautiful wood Piece. Perfect for your antique staircase railing. Could either have a decorative Finial top or a beautiful Victorian Light wired in it as they used to do. The round Post Cap is approximately 5 3/4" across the bottom. Approximately 4 1/2" on top where finial would go and approximately 9" at the widest. I also have(in separate auction) a stair Volute/Railing Elbow piece as seen in last photo with this piece.
