I have seen lots of figural newel post style lamps but this one with the art glass shades is over the top. The shades are pink at the opening and fade back to clear. I put some awesome colored lights on it the darken the shade colors and makes this lap radiant. And what a great subject. The farm girl feeding the chicks. Oh my! Signed by Aristide de Ranieri. The top has raised bulls eyes on 3 sides. The shaft is fluted with beveled edges and recessed bulls eyes in the middle. It is notched for the step but is not freestanding. It measures 53.75 inches tall. Is 8 inches square at the base and 6 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good co ndition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. A slight crack at the top. Not perfect like new, but almost. It doesn't stand perfectly level, the bottom is slightly off but my floors are way off in this 100+ years old house. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Vintage Steel Handrails. What a rare find! Beautiful. Vintage handrails salvaged from Northeastern, PA. The rails are made of aluminum and the rest of the parts are steel. The tubing of the posts is hollow and the decorative motifs are cast. We didn't personally remove them. But we could see that the ends of the rails were cut off from wherever they were installed. The posts were anchored to the ground with bolts that were inserted through the base plates. Aside from small nicks and scuffs. All parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, dents, or gouges. They are strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service. Original machine threaded solid brass collar/base. Ground glass[not polished] on bottom. Made to be attached to the main newel post at the bottom of the stair hand railing. Impressive 6-1/2" high total& about 5" across at center. 15-3/4" around[circumference] at center. Intricate& beautifully executed design of controlled bubbles. Each inside a diamond shape leading into ribs at bottom. Brass collar is 2-1/2" in diameter. I found this years ago near where I live in Cumberland County, South Jersey; no knowledge of its origins. This is a phenomenal mid century modern/ Hollywood Regency boule d' escalier. Total a massive eight inches tall including the threaded mount on the gold base. The glass has a bubble design with tiny bubbles throughout. And there is a slight tint to the glass in certain light. Fantastic. Impossible to find something similar item. Stands 12-5/8 tall with a sq base 4-3/4" The ball is approx. 5-1/4 in dia. Was obviously off an outside cast iron fence post,ther is rust pitting around the bottom edge where it was locked down and retained water in the gap. It does not detract from its awesome look. Use it as a stand alone decorative piece or mount it to a post inside or out. I pack well and usually ship out quickly,check my feedback and other listings for more great items.

The shaft has three raised panels on each side. It is not notches for the step. It measures 57.25 inches tall by 8 inches square at the base and 6 square at the shaft. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are some light chips here and there. There are some nail holes. BIG Antique cast bronze winged serpent caduceus. Newel post gas light, lamp base
Nice. Heavy cast bronze chalice cup. C. 1880. It was converted for use as an electric table lamp base in the 1920's.Originaly most likely a newel post gas light. It measures 19 inches tall and has a copper insert in the cup section. The center has been tapped and drilled for a cord as well as the edge of the base. The design is very ornate with three entwined serpent, winged caduceus symbols around the shaft, Griffon feet, and egg& acanthus leaf trim around the base. It is in very good condition with the original patina and no broken or dented parts. It would make a great fountain font, another lamp, a doctor's office decoration or even a cool altarpeice in a Wiccan healing ceremony. Guaranteed to be antique and not a reproduction. Up for auction is a neat Gas porch wall sconce of the late Victorian era. This steel and cast iron fixture most likely dates to the C.1880'S or early 1890's period. When gas lighting was the chief method of producing light in and around the home. The lamp was rewired by the previous owners and is working. But we would highly suggest it be inspected by your installing electrician. The glass panels that are missing. Mount inside 4 sides of the lamp and could be cut easily and installed through the back swing door. When the inside was electrified. It appears a chimney holder was incorporated into the lamps interior. It to could be purchase at a local lamp supply store or on the internet. The lamp measures 19 inches tall to top of finial. Mitchell Vance Or Cornelius Baker Working Gas Newel Post Lamp. Awesome working gas light/ lamp fixture for your Victorian staircase. Beautiful gun metal/ brass finish. Grape vine and leaves wrap the central core with bird heads. Ball and claw feet detail at the base above brass canopy. One arm has a slight bend very minor, one of the brass fitters for the shades is missing one screw. Does not effect shade install in anyway. Once installed on newel, the fixture is well above head height as to not worry about coming into contact with it. Easy to light gas from below vantage point. Truly Amazing when torched up. Please study pictures for details. This beauty stands 42.5 inch tall with original Antique shades, and 39 inch tall without shades. It has a spread of 21 inch at its widest point with shades on. Pair of Circa 1890 English carved oak newel post finials in the form of heraldic lions holding shields. Matched pair are mirror image. Hand carved pieces guaranteed 19th c. Elizabethan Tudor style. These were cut off a larger section of post and so do not have screw holes on bottom. I have been keeping them for a future project or stairs, but I'm letting go of some projects. Antique VTG 1900s Gamewell Fire Call Box Cast Iron Pedestal Pole Newel Post OLD
Let me start off by saying these two pieces are not originally meant to be together. This is an early 1900s Cast iron post. It is the perfect color and material to fit this cast iron Gamewell call box. With a little fabrication this could make a beautiful piece. The pole has a hole on top that would be perfect to mount a bracket to hold the box securely and it would be ready to display. The first picture is the box just simply sitting on top of the pole. The pole is a good 150 pounds. Very ornate and a great looking piece. The gamewell box is also cast iron and is missing the inners. It is solid and has key. I feel like this pair has great potential.
