The form of this item is rare and breathtaking and the quality of construction and detail are something you will not find in todays furniture. This piece is in very nice antique condition still being very structurally sound and sturdy. The upholstery is clean for the most part with a few splatter stains on the matching pillows and upholstery here and there. There is a darker spot at the base along the front that will probably clean up a bit. The frame itself is something to behold and if you are even looking for a settee to reupholster with your own beautiful material then look no further. There is a minor age appropriate hairline crack to the wood at the back on the bottom but this does not take away from the sturdiness nor the beauty of this wonderful and unique item. The set is extremely sound ... moreand sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. There are no stains! There is visible wear only on the cording edge of the chair arms and minor wear on the cording edge of the sofa. Please see pictures as they are part of this description. The dimensions of the sofa are: 95 1/2" long X 34" deep X 28" high. The chair measures 43" wide X 34" deep X 28" high. This set is an iconic 1950's MAD MEN sofa set. Perfect for the Mid Century home.
