Circa 1910– 1920 originating from the post Edwardian period. The suite is constructed of solid mahogany. The suite features the original single panel cane-work to the sides of the arms and single panel cane work to the back. The suite boasts a lovely curved shape from the back into the sweeping scroll arms. The couch features central mahogany shaped splat and at the corners of the couch and armchairs are protruding ears. The base of the suite descends into decorative ball and lion claw carved feet at the front and sabre legs to the rear. The suite is fitted with removable gold and cream damask feather cushions that are all in excellent condition. Cream rope braiding finishes off the upholstery around the frame of the suite. The suite features a sprung base below. The suite seats up to five people comfortably. This is a very comfortable suite due to the deep design of the frame. Very Nice Daybed sofa with original upholstery. I believe it is from the Lawrence Peabody collection for Richardson-Nemschoff from the 1950s era…It is going to Need New foam cushions unless you just want to keep it original. The Caning is in Nice Shape. No holes. The upholstery is original. The latex foam seat cushion has gotten hard and needs to be replaced which I can do, if you desire. Wanted to keep it original for the buyer to decide. This is a daybed that pulls out for sleeping to give the user more room and comfort. Offered for sale is an Ethan Allen Vintage Classic Manor Maple/Birch Sofa Table w/Cane Top. This lovely table is item#15-9020 and was manufactured around the early 1980's. It can be found on page#177 of the 80th edition Ethan Allen Treasury of American Traditional Interiors. In this auction. I am selling the table without the glass top. The glass may break during shipping and could damage the cane top so it is not included. You will need a clear glass top that measures 11 3/4" x 55 3/4" x 1/8" In Dallas, the price of glass that size runs $17.00, so very reasonable. The glass sits recessed in the table and covers the cane completely(see pics#3,4) The measurements of the table are 60" wide x 16" deep x 27.5" tall. This is a beautiful antique/ vintage extra long couch/ sofa up for sale. I found the couch at a local estate sale but it turns out that it does not match my living room. The couch is cream with navy blue and gold stripes. The sides of the couch are made of wood and cane(see pictures) The couch is in great condition and does not have any stains or tears. I am not sure of the age of this sofa. Chair& rocker set. It has the ball& claw feet& caned back& sides. All of the caning is in excellent condition with no damage that I can find. The wood is in great shape w/ one spot on the arm of the chair that needs to be glued(see pic) It was reupholstered some time ago& could use a cleaning. I bought this from an estate auction with plans to redo it for my own house, it looks great like it is) but never found a place to use it. I purchased this item in London at auction on February 20th. 2001 for 900 pounds sterling and I had it shipped to the US with a lot of other furniture that I purchased. The auctioneers estimate was 800- 1,200 pounds, so I got a good deal on it. Including the auction commission/ freight. In current dollars, my cost was approx. $2,000 for this item. The auctioneer was the esteemed Bonhams. As I am leaving. I am looking to recover a lot less than this- great deal for you! From auction catalog: A mahogany three piece caned Bergere suite. ... moreCirca 1920. I can. Therefore, state that this item is circa 1920. The sofa and chairs comprise a solid mahogany frame. With cane backing and arms, and the original cushions. I am not sure what the cushions are made of as I have never opened them, but they are not plush and fluffy, rather more solid. The sofa and chair are supported by clawfoot bulbous feet. The cane is in good shape. As is the wood. The feet are solid. However, there are a couple of wood blocks at the corners that have come loose and have been glued back. Overall structure is very solid and sturdy. The three seat sofa measures 69 inches long. By 37 inches deep, by 32 inches high at the highest point. Each cushion on the sofa(three total) measures 20 1/2 inches. For total 61 1/2 sitting area. The two chairs are the same. They measure 30 inches wide. By 37 inches deep, and 32 inches high. We originally purchased this sofa suite for our indoor porch. But have since used them in other rooms. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique(late 19th century) Victorian chaise chair/sofa. This is a stunning piece that features an ornate. Carved wood frame and tall cane back. The chaise is quite large, measuring 6 feet in length. The seating area is covered in a beautiful fabric with French, Neoclassical pattern. There are 8 legs which feature block and turned wood. Arched, carved wood stretchers attach in between each leg on the long sides. There are stretcher supports that also run under the chaise, but these are not decorative. The chaise has been painted white(not sure if it is original) It is in good antique condition. The paint is chipping/peeling. The cane in intact with a small worn area in the center. Offered for sale. A fantastic set of Ficks Reed Rattan furniture. Manufactured in the 1960's and highly collected for its style and craftsmanship. These were all hand made and have a beautiful rich color. Both Cain back couch and lounge chair have no condition issues. Could use metal cleaning. The two club chairs are very sought after and just a marvel to look at. Both are in very good condition with some light condition issues. One seat support is broken and the other has a spit in side curve. This appears to be early damage. These do not effect the structural integrity of chairs. Beautiful antique 1920's cane sofa with matching chair and rocker. On bottom of sofa is old sticker marked Fox Manufacturing. Atlanta, GA.a little research showed that they were in business from 1919 until they went out of business during the Great Depression.so I believe this set was made during the 20's.the wood appears to be walnut.it is in fantastic condition and very sturdy, also very comfortable. The only damage I can find is a small 1/2" hole in the cane back of the sofa on the left side, see last pic, where the cane has broke but is still there, the finish is worn a little in that spot, also some veneer is missing on one back leg on the back side, see third pic from last.the chair and rocker are in excellent condition.the tapestry upholstery is newer, and very clean, no wear or tears in fabric, all tight and neat.I love ... morethis set! Beautiful 1920s Antique Cane-Back Sofa Couch Off-White ~ needs work
Beautiful Cane-Backed Sofa This sofa originally belonged to my great-grandparents in Northern Minnesota and has been passed down through the generations. It is probably from the 1920s. The wood is very dark. Probably mahogany, with normal wear/scuffing. Seat, back, and arm cushions are completely removable and were re-made approximately 15 years ago. The fabric is in very good condition, although it will need to be cleaned(there are a few spots) The right portion of the back's caning has a hole in it. Although with cushions in place it is unnoticeable if the sofa is against a wall. Although the rest of the caning seems solid, the sofa spent 10 years recently in Arizona, so the caning may be dry.
