I had the two arm rests upholstered with a strip of the hide to break up the black Naugahyde surrounding the hide. I think my upholsterer did an incredible job, as he always does. Awesome Mid Century Modern Loveseat Sofa Milo-Esque
Up for auction with NO RESERVE is this fantastic Mid Century Modern love seat/ sofa with brass accents.Side pillow straps, on a walnut pedestal base, covered in hornet's hounds-tooth upholstery. This loveseat has a very Milo Baughman feel but, there are no marks indicating designer or maker that I have found. There are two small tears in the upholstery which are pictured. One of them is on the front right of the seat cushion, the other is on the upper back of the sofa. The pedestal base shows average wear for it's age with nicks, scratches and fading. Overall this is a very very cool mid century modern piece that could be used as is. Fix up the upholstery, or completely reupholstered. I've never seen one like it with the brass corner accents! This is an amazing. Original 8 1/2' Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin sofa with its original upholstering. There are no holes or tears in any of the material. All of the cushions are in perfect shape except for the back of one cushion that has miniscule scratches as seen in pic#11. The backrest has what seems to be a very light paint over spray. Usually that will come off easily with water and a soft rag, but because this is all original I thought I would leave that to the next owner. It has it's original tag from Thayer Coggin and what seems to be strips of cardboard from when it was originally shipped, pic#9. We're moving cross-country. So our loss is your gain! 10 foot long sculptural serpentine sofa with cream colored textured wool on round walnut legs designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. Likely in the late 60s. We have floated this sofa in the middle of our living room, but there is a flat surface(the side with the arm) that fits nicely on a wall, with the ottoman side curving outward from the wall. We bought this from a shop in Palm Springs and have loved it! However, we are not planing to move a 10-foot couch cross-country! The sofa is in overall very good vintage condition. We have been using the current upholstery. But had planned to have it redone were it not for the move. The fabric has no damage, but does has light overall wear consistent with the age of the piece(see detail pic)the high end fabric held up well! There are a couple of small stains(very minor but I want to disclose them anyway) on the undersides of 2 of the cushions. The laminate is in perfect condition. Early Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin sofa in a light yellow butter cream. All original leatherette upholstery. Great lines with shrunken back pillows for a design that was way ahead of its time. Sits on 4 removeable walnut legs. All original and in overall very good condition for age. Vinyl has a few teeny tiny blemishes only on seat cushions(noted in photos) Could use new foam if you wanted to firm up the cushions a bit(will replace at no additional cost and have professionally cleaned for buy it now price) Legs are in great condition. Rare Stunning Mid Century Modern Sofa/Loveseat Ebonized Plinth Milo Baughman Thayer Coggin Mint Condition Measurements: 62"L) x 36-3/4"D) x 30"H) 17"H) Seat to floor Description: This sofa is amazing! It is in mint condition. There are no stains holes or rips. It is a little shorter than most sofas but very deep so it could be used as a loveseat as well. The structure is very cool. The back of the sofa is a completely rolled cushion that is attached and sturdy like the back of a regular sofa but soft and comfortable to lean against. The seat cushions do not touch the bottom of it so you can see right through the sofa. There are hooks and rings on the two seat cushions and sofa to hold them in place. This sofa is so comfortable and deep enough to relax on. The ebonized wood base is extremely sturdy with no damage or cracks ... moreto it. You can still see the pretty wood grain as well. I also have the arm covers which I left on for one of the pictures. They are in mint condition as well and could be used if you choose to do so. I do not know the maker, the labels have been removed. In the style of Milo Baughman, probably dating from the 1970s. Measures 24" tall(not including pillow) x 81 1/4" wide x 34 1/2" deep. Seat height is 16" Poor Condition. Signs of water damage-has water stains and a faint musty smell. Was stored in a basement and not well cared for. Definitely needs re-upholstery.
