Item Description: For your consideration this rare vintage walnut trundle bed with cane sides attributed to design of Peter Hvidt. Intended for dual usage; as a sofa and daybed/trundle bed. Needs foam and upholstered seat& back cushions. The wood frame does show some scratches as photos depict. Springs are fine and trundle mechanism operates fine as intended for use. One of the end side's cane panels has a slight hole in it as picture with finger pointing shows(sorry that picture is so color-off, I'm not a professional photographer. Also. On the inside of the side panel on the opposite end of the daybed in the first two photos you can see where the wood finish is a bit faded. Would really be best if sent out for a refinishing& new cane panels. T his auction is for the base you see primarily pictured. This is a beautiful mid century modern walnut frame sofa with loose seat and back cushions. The cushions seem to be upholstered in original fabric and are in great condition. The frame is sturdy and also in great condition with no damage or deep scratches. This amazing piece is demountable and disassembles to make it easy to transport and store if necessary. Vintage Mid Century Tuxedo Style Sofa This item is part of an estate sale for a client who is down sizing from a large home to an assisted living condominium. It is a wonderful mid century sofa with a tuxedo style frame that looks great. Depending on the upholstery fabric. The tuxedo style sofa frame goes with any type of decor-from traditional to contemporary. The sofa is in good condition, structurally sound, clean, and very well cared for. The frame is heavy solid wood and the cushions sit firm. Our inspection confirms a very well constructed frame. There are no loose frame areas or un-even legs. The owner told us the sofa was manufactured by Baker and purchased in 1979 or 1980. It was re-upholstered once in 1992 when she decided to relocate it from her living room to her sun-room. As a result of the re-upholstering, the label is no longer ... moreattached. It has 3 loose box seat cushions, 3 loose back cushions with a knife edge, and 2 loose side cushions with a knife edge. The legs have a great modern wedge shape as seen in the pictures and would look great exposed if you choose to re-upholster. The fabric appears to be cotton floral in good condition with the exception of wear on the welt of the center cushion and some slight wear to the welt located on the left side of the sofa. We believe the slight wear on the left side welt of the sofa is due to the sofa rubbing against a brick wall in the sun-room. The wear on the center cushion welt was caused by her 4 year old great grandchild cutting the welt with a pair of scissors she was using to cut pictures from a coloring book. We just love the stories our clients share with us. The springs are 8-way hand tied. The dimensions are 83" long, 32" deep, 28" high. Seat height is 18" It is hard to find furniture with frames of this quality anymore and in a size that doesn't over-power a room. Furniture of this quality lasts for generations to come. Vintage mid century modern Stendig De Sede Endless Non Stop sofa 25 sections
Widdicomb* Many large detailed pictures below description* Very scarce and iconic vintage 1960s/70s Ueli Berger"Non Stop" Or"Endless" sofa, distributed in U.S. by Stendig, NY. This example in 25 sections, thick suede over heavy brown felt covered platforms. Signed with several Stendig labels on bottoms. All original. Very uncommon and one of the most iconic mod sofa designs ever created. This is a striking design element for an advanced modern space. Very comfortable as well, which isn't terribly common among sofas in the modernist oeuvre. Heavy zippered tongues or flaps attach each section. Which are approx 1 foot wide. Additionally, there are heavy steel loops with pins between each section, allowing for"Slinky-like" flexibility in shape and configuration. Any number of sections could be used for shorter ... moreor longer configuration. The sofa is in average vintage condition. The structure is excellent. Seats. Back and arms retain shape and"fluff" Thick felt platforms are in nice condition without tears or holes. Thick suede leather on upper portion has no tears. There is moderate general soiling, worse on 5 or 6 sections than others. There is noticeable fading to exposed portions of upper suede. Original tan color is visible in crevices and folds and across rear. Exposed suede portions have faded to a light"minty" green color. The piece presents pretty well with sections pushed together and the"faded to" light green color is not offensive at all. The tan is visible at crevice edges if inspected. Heavy attachment eyelets have some occasional surface rust. 8 pins are not present(you don't have to pin sections, or a simple bolt from store would work) In my opinion the piece will improve very nicely with a professional cleaning. And at absolute worst the currently cleanest 20 sections would look very nice. If you have access to a skilled leather restorer or excellent upholstery shop, I believe that this piece has the potential to be a superb restoration

This is an amazing piece with style and function. There are 2 bases. One long base with 3 sections and a single base, and can be configured several different ways. Orange tweed fabric is in excellent condition that compliments the walnut table base. All of the bases have a chrome like strip across the bottom. One minor scrape in the front which may be repairable. Otherwise minor wear consistent with age. Tags intact. Made by Madison Furniture Industries in Canton, MS. Arthur Umanoff and Thonet designed for this company, however I am unable to attribute this to either with certainty. There is a great resemblance to the Umanoff 2400 series, a group of waiting room furniture that was his inspiration for the original Captain Kirk chair in Star Trek.
