There is a built in planter on the chair platform with original plants. Not pictured are 4 throw pillows(minus inserts) and 4 arm covers. The sofa and chair can be easily removed from the platforms for transport or to be re-upholstered if desired. CONDITION: Great vintage condition with normal wear due to age and use. There are scratches and nicks/dings in the walnut veneer due to age and use(most along edges of platforms- most noticeable are pictured) There are also some lighter areas on the platform/table tops and ring marks. There are some scuffs on the black platform underneath the walnut platform. The original upholstery has no rips/tears/holes– it is somewhat worn along the chair upper edges and there is a small black mark on the back of the sofa. It could benefit from a professional cleaning. Would look beautiful reupholstered in the fabric of your choice. The cushion on the seat of the chair is a bit broken down. This measures about 87 ½ inches with trays in place and the seat cushion is 65 inches. Each tray measures 23 by 12 inches. The bottom cushion has been covered with material. Loosely, not professionally, and has some fading and tears. Th e back pieces are in great shape with some stains on back from support bars. This does fold out to make a bed as well. The frame of the piece is in excellent shape and very solid with no issues at all but the bottom cushion is the only negative part. Up for auction is a great Mid Century Modern sofa that appears to be Italian. It has many characteristics of sofas made by Singer& Sons in the late 1950s but no labels. This fine sofa is long. Low and very comfortable and well made. Black naugahyde upholstery has a very cool ribbed back stitching and is in very good condition with a couple of tiny flaws, one on the corner of the right arm and another on the very back of the sofa(see pics) The tapered black lacquered legs are strong and rock solid. My mother had this same style of sofa when I was little. I was elated when I found these. These are few and far between. Over the past few months. I've only seen one other pair and that was on Etsy for $975.They are easy to look at, don't dominate the room, easy to move and to recover, and allow for lots of flexibility. These can be placed side by side or perpendicular to each other.The previous owner let them get rained on- hence the waterstains but I've steam cleaned them, used upholstery cleaner, vacuumed them and had them airing in the sun for a week, so they are as clean as they can get without re-upholstering them. Super rare California modern sofa purchased over 10 years ago from California Living in Los Angeles. I'm including a photo of the last similar sofa sold at Auction(Wright20 out of Chicago) which was sold 8 years ago- this design doesn't come up often! To my knowledge. Because this was indoor/outdoor design most of the sofa's were outside and eventually rusted out and discarded. While the upholstery was re-done over 10 years ago(in Sunbrella) the frame itself is original grayish-beige(taupe) powder coat and was most likely exclusively an indoor sofa since the 50's. The frame is in excellent condition. The upholstery is ok but sofa would look much nicer with new cushions. The daybed lifts on both sides with 2 height options on each of the sides.
