Steelcase Chrome base sofa - Probber Vintage Mid Century Modern baughman
Sofa by Steelcase- Circa 1970's- off-white color wool 80" x 32" depth. 28.5" high. Seats 17" Arm rests 22.25" Original latex foam One of three for sale. Almost identical to a Knoll design with it's own touch. Notice the sharp angle of the inner back rest supporting the cushions for a proper comfortable seat. Knoll designers int he 60's and 70's went to work for steelcase and often produced very similar examples. Quality construction and properly performed upholstery at the Steelcase facilities with chrome bar bases that go around the entire sofa. Upholstery covers the whole sofa(except under cushions on sofa) including the back. No tears etc. just some piling on the back. Original metal feet on each leg. The sofa has 6 cushions all which need covering. There is 6 cushion covers for the sofa included in the listing- in the pictures I took them off all but one cover so you can see the covers are striped with velcour closures. Originial cushion covers are darker beige and have a zippered closure.The striped covers fit right over the originials. The original cushion covers are torn on the sides and a few buttons are missing- I am assuming that is why the owner recovered the sofa. The foam inside still looks good no drying. This auction is for a 1950's Vintage Mid-Century Retro Floral Green Couch and Chair that has been recovered in the 1960's. The color just pops off of the couch and chair. There are springs in the cushions. As well as, int he couch for better bounce. It has been been steamed cleaned by a professional the chair and the couch both just a few weeks ago. The couch underneath has a small rip in the black see through fabric. Please see pictures. One of the four metal bars has come loose and the black see through fabric will have to be pulled away in that area to tighten the bar back in place. They made things well years ago. Mid Century Modern Harvey Probber Couch Ottoman Table Set Bookcase Vintage Sofa
Vintage Couch Set Wow! This auction is for a really nice and really amazing couch set that I found in a local home. The previous owner was an architect that worked in Saudi Arabia and in the Milwaukee area and back in the 1960s he went to Chicago and furnished his office and home with Herman Miller. Dunbar and Harvey Probber. Everything was custom ordered and here you get a four piece set that was really the center piece of his living room. All pieces were made by Harvey Probber but only the couch is marked with a tag– the tag also has the name of his Architecture firm on the tag as the company that ordered it. You get a very long, one piece 9 ft couch, ottoman, 10 ft. bookcase that was made to ship behind the couch and it has removable shelves in the center, and a really great square coffee table. The coffee table doubles as the storage ... morespace for the ottoman and the ottoman sits perfectly underneath. The couch and ottoman have a really fine yellow fabric typical of the 1960s and the long couch cushion is fully buttoned the entire length– on the top and bottom. The couch fabric is perfect and the cushions are really nice and soft. The ottoman fabric is very clean as well but the foam underneath is really crunchy and needs to be replaced. The only other thing I can say about the couch and ottoman is that one of the couch legs was broken and then it was glued, so it needs a little better repair. The coffee table is very clean with just a single burn mark near the center. The bookcase has some heavy finish wear on the top because it sat in the window and the sun did a number on it, but that would be VERY easy to fix. Just a great set and guaranteed authentic! Pick up only on this huge set but I will deliver as far as Chicago at a cost of around $200. Guaranteed old and authentic! I charge a 5.1% sales tax to all Wisconsin residents- sorry. It's mandatory! Listed is a FANTASTIC Milo Baughman style flat bar chrome frame sofa with original orange hopsack upholstery made by the Flair division of Lenoir furniture. It measures 84 inches long by 22 inches deep and 31 inches tall to the top of the back cushions and is very heavy(about 175 lbs) Ths fabric is in amazing condition as it was under slip covers for many years. Even the top ends of the arms are free of wear and stains. There is some very minor pitting to the chrome, mostly on the bottom of the sled style base and a little on the upright section of the front right, yet this is minor and is only seen upon close inspection. Rare. Vintage sofa daybed by Kroehler. It is from Kroehler's American Leisure collection and styled after Adrian Pearsall's 2408-S model. You are bidding on a gondola style sofa in excellent vintage condition. Original upholstery is solid red on the base with black and red back cushions with minimal fading. Original walnut frame and arms. Original tag is included but has separated from the sofa. The vinyl seat lining has separated at the seam. This does note affect the function or appearance. It is only visible when the bottom cushion is removed and could be easily re-stitched. This sofa was obtained from the estate sale of a neighbor who originally purchased them new in the mid 60's. Mid Century Modern Curved Tufted Sofa. Yellow with green and orange stripes. The sofa was recover with high end durable fabric. When this was done they skirted the curved sofa before the wooden legs showed. When facing the sofa the bottom right skirt has come unstapled. But can easliy be fixed. This was an estate sale find. I cant find a maker or brand name. It is so comfortable and the curved shape helps an otherwise square room with a nice fluid feel. Local pick up only or you set up a shipping service to pick up. Vintage CAMDEN, NY Ranch Lounge CHAIR & COUCH Mid Century SOFA Western Americana
i have been told by antique dealers that these may have been made by the Camden Theater Chair Manufacturers. Making it rather valuable, but there is only the barely readable tag mentioned above. It is a beautiful set from a 100yr old Montana homestead/ranch and they have original cusions that where covered by custom covers for most of it's life. The cusions are a bit tired and could prob use some new covers(or just a professional cleaning) Chair measures approx 32" W by 32" Deep, and the couch is approx 76" W by 32" D. Joints and metal springs/straps are TITE and it has been recently refinished and is in GREAT SHAPE! AS-IS and pickup only in S W Montana-sorry! Unique and rare bamboo daybed with rawhide strapping by McGuire. I have yet to see another like it. Original label intact. w 80" | h 24' | d 33.5" | sh 16.5" | sd 30" Listed separately is a complimenting coffee table. Was previously used with plywood platform supporting cushion(which I can include) I believe this should have strapping. Cushion will require upholstery. There are some loose straps in one connection. Rare Vintage Milo Baughman Jack Lenor Larsen Sectional Sofa Mid Century Modern
Immaculately preserved sectional sofa by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. Draped in amazing Jack Lenor Larsen fabric. This is truly a rare specimen. The previous owners had a custom cover made for the sofa, which has protected the fabric for at least 30 years. Colors remain vibrant and stunning. Base is comprised of walnut peg legs and a thin walnut trim around the bottom edge. Great lines, solid construction, and of course, the most coveted of fabrics in near mint condition. w 135" x 108" sections measure individually 102" 108" h 30" including back cushions | 25.5" to back of sofa d 32.5" Seat Depth 19.5" Seat Height 18" There are no labels. However I submitted photos to Thayer Coggin, and they believe this to be a Milo Baughman design based on their archives. Will provide copies of email correspondence. ... morePhotos shall serve as part of description. There is one small blemish on the corner of the arm. And a small tear to a seam on the outer inside corner of the shorter section. This is covered by the cushions but mentioning for accuracy. Foam has some minor hardening on the very back top edge, otherwise soft throughout including all cushions. Legs are in very good condition, no scratches or scuffs to legs or trim. Could benefit from a light refinish to liven up the wood, but just as beautiful in as-is vintage condition. I am very thorough with condition descriptions. It also has a space underneath the cushions to attach them to the couch We have two matching pillows to give with it. It is from Europe. Most likely Spain. 1950's era. Low back. Very nice The upholstery is in fantastic condition. Cream colored, textured. A MUST SEE wooden legs NOTE-THE SHADOWING ON THE COUCH IS ACTUALLY A SHADOW AND NOT A STAINING ON THE COUCH. there is one blemish on the couch. In the 2nd picture in the middle of the cushion. very small and almost unnoticeable. the cushion can be flipped to the side w NO blemishes. 8'3" long. 2'2" ... morehigh, 2'8-1/2" deep And the seat is 1-1/2 feet I am not sure of the material. But it feels like nylon to me(the same kind of feel as a schoolbag) It seems like a good, semi- water repellant(non absorbent) stain resistant scotch guard type of material. And on the very edges of the cushions. They can be flipped and the couch does come with the pillows, so it covers that area too(probably why I didn't notice it earlier) This couch lived in a room with a lot of sunlight(glass doors and skylights) so that must be why this happened.
