This is a beautiful Mid Century Sofa and Chair in a soft turquoise blue. Built in the 1950's by Rowe Manufacturing Co. The set is extremely sound and sturdy with no wobbling. Rowe Manufacturing was(and still is) an upscale furniture manufacturer. The frame is constructed of solid wood and the springs are all in tack with no sagging. This set has been in one home with one owner since it was made in the 1950's. That home was a non-smoking and no-pet home. The fabric appears to be a very thick, heavy nylon blend. Chaise furniture manufactured March 2009 in the style of Vladimir Kagan This is a high end and very well made piece of furniture that I obtained from an interior designer friend. I had it upholstered 5 months ago in quality coconut-colored fabric with palm or lime green piping and then we moved to a smaller place where I have no room for it. The coconut fabric is textured like a coconut but soft and comfortable to the touch. The green piping is a narrow wale corduroy. It looks well with modern style furniture and can also match up with lanai tiki looks. It is very comfortable. The recovering was professionally redone about 6 years ago at great expense using genuine Kvadrat fabric which cost over £800. The whole sofa was over £2000 when purchased from a specialist dealer. Since then the sofa has been almost unused and was more of a decorative piece than a used item in our old house. It has been in store and unused in a spare bedroom for the last 2 years. Wood slat back with the original upholstered zippered seat and back cushions(red) CONDITION: Great vintage condition with typical wear due to age and use. The wood is in excellent condition– minor dings and marks due to age and use. The upholstery is faded and worn. The foam in the seat cushions is a bit more broken down/compressed than the foam in the back cushions. The couch strapping is sturdy the way it is now as someone has added extra strapping and an inner frame along the bottom frame of the couch– in order to attach the extra strapping from side to side(to support the original front to back strapping that had lost elasticity) Only visible with cushions off of the couch. Up for Auction is a Vintage 1960's DUX Sweden Mid Century Danish Modern Sofa Couch. This is a 3-Seat Sofa with a Classic Scandinavian design by designer Folke Ohlsson. It has a cantilevered arms with tapered teak legs and a curvilinear frame and 6 loose thin edge cushions. The sofa retains it's original fine grey wool fabric and also the original DUX label under the cushions. It measures 76 inches long by 28 inches tall and is 30 inches at the deepest point. The seat sits 16 inches off the floor and is 20 inches deep. This sofa is in very good vintage condition. The frame. Supports, and legs are strong and sturdy. This is a beautiful mid century modern walnut frame sofa with loose seat and back cushions. The cushions seem to be upholstered in original fabric and are in great condition. The frame is sturdy and also in great condition with no damage or deep scratches. This amazing piece is demountable and disassembles to make it easy to transport and store if necessary. This also means that shipping will be a lot less than with a regular sofa. Super comfortable and super sleek.
