The sofa and chair can be easily removed from the platforms for transport or to be re-upholstered if desired. CONDITION: Great vintage condition with normal wear due to age and use. There are scratches and nicks/dings in the walnut veneer due to age and use(most along edges of platforms- most noticeable are pictured) There are also some lighter areas on the platform/table tops and ring marks. There are some scuffs on the black platform underneath the walnut platform. The original upholstery has no rips/tears/holes– it is somewhat worn along the chair upper edges and there is a small black mark on the back of the sofa. It could benefit from a professional cleaning. Would look beautiful reupholstered in the fabric of your choice. The cushion on the seat of the chair is a bit broken down. There are a few broken straps under the chair. But it functions OK. There are 4 zippered throw pillow covers and 4 arm covers included but not pictured. We purchased this sofa along with the two matching club chairs(see my other listings for the chairs) out of an office in Massachusetts where they had been since the 50's! Obviously because of this they had very little use. There is some minor rubbing to the mohair on the front corners where your hands go, and some color fading throughout from the decades, but overall a rich deep royal blue with purple notes, really great color and even better texture. Listed is a very rare three piece sectional sofa designed by Russel Wright for his. American Modern" line manufactured by Conant Ball. The sofa is very sturdy and comfortable and features a birch frame with green tweed upholstery. The wood frame is in great vintage shape with only minor wear consistent with age. The upholstery shows some wear on the corners and is somewhat dingy in spots, but is free of any large rips or stains. MID CENTURY MODERN ART DECO ROSEWOOD VENEER YELLOW INLAY PEDESTAL SOFA TABLE 66"
We are pleased to offer this Mid Century sofa or entry table. This is rare piece which has a unique combination of Art Deco. Mid Century Modern and Rustic elements. The sofa table dates to the 1960s or 1970s. It is a 3 piece design. The table offers two substantial, pedestal, columnar legs as well as a substantial top. The top has rounded ends which pair nicely with columnar legs. All of the pieces are expertly wrapped in a beautiful Rosewood veneer which has a gorgeous grain pattern. The table top also features a center inlay of yellow pine veneer. The top has a deliberate interruption of the linear veneer pattern which is a circular design that corresponds with each leg. Inside this circular feature, a narrow band of Rosewood is inlaid in the pine veneer. This gives the top additional interest. The table top is notched underneath so that ... moreeach leg fits securely. The table is very heavy and extremely sturdy. It is in very good vintage condition. There are a few minor chips to the veneer on the top at the curved ends. There is some slight wrinkling in the veneer of the legs which is not uncommon considering the age. None of these is distracting or glaring. This is a very unique and beautiful table. The table is 66" wide and 17.75" front to back. The table top is solid and measures 4" thick. The legs are 14" in diameter and 29.75" tall. Again. All of the pieces are heavy. Shipping via UPS with insurance provided for you. MID CENTURY MODERN SOFA BENCH LOUNGE CHAIR SETTEE ATTACHED DRUM END TABLE 1 OF 2
We are pleased to offer this gorgeous. Mid Century Modern bench sofa chair with attached end tables. This unique piece was initially used in the lobby of a Commerce Bank in Missouri in the 1960s and had been with the same owner since the 1980s until we acquired them. The bench is SOLID and features a hardwood frame. The bench section is padded lightly and covered in the original aqua(green/blue) fabric. The drum tables are located and attached on each end. They feature a walnut/pecan wood veneer. The bench(please note that the listing is for one bench but we do have two available) is quite sturdy and was constructed to use(not just look good) It could be used in a number of rooms from the entry hall to the living room. It has a great profile! The bench is in good condition. There is very little evidence of wear to the fabric. The drum tables ... moredo have some scratches. Particularly to the lower sections. There are a couple of minor chips to the veneer in these sections as well(cleaning crew bumped with vacuum? With very little effort, they can be restored to their original glory. As they are, they are quite lovely and afford lots of character! The end tables are bolted to the benches and do come apart. This way, you can recover the fabric if you so desire and could stain the drum tables as well(see picture 11) The holes in the drums are threaded inside which is a nice feature as well. The benches are identical. They measure 7 feet in length. They are 19" deep(front to back) The seat height is 19" tall and the tables are 20.5" tall. The tables are 19" in diameter. This super cool and comfortable sofa designed by De Sede design team. Switzerland circa 1970's. This very cool 3 seater sofa has a natural carmel leather feel with stitched pillows. The sofa is very nice and has user patina from over the years of usage. Some seats are worn more then others as shown in the photos. Also please keep in mind this is a vintage sofa and has some scratches in the leather and some wear on the back side. I must mention that I do not know about the base of the sofa as it looks like it has been home made and is not correct to other photos of similar models. Vintage 1950's 3-Piece Sofa/Couch Set - Mid Century Modern (Coffee Table)
You are bidding on a vintage 1950's 3-Piece seating unit which includes two sofas and one round coffee table that all fit together like a puzzle(The coffee table in the front of this piece is not included. It is a separate auction. This is a quality piece and in great shape. But the backside of the couch on the left does have a stain. I have never tried getting it out myself nor have I tried having it professionally cleaned. I would recommend doing either, or you can do as I did. I had a throw over the back and it looked great! The other option is to have it professional reupholstered since this is the original fabric. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll get many compliments on it just as I did. Extremely Sturdy and Heavy(unmatched in today's market) This Sofa is not a redo however does show some signs of wear consistent with age of this item. I was told a family member that the sofa was reupholstered in the early 1970's to its current white vinyl upholstery. At that time their interior design theme went to black and white. Sofa features. One seat cushion and 4 back cushions. Special feature is sofa has a long hinge that spans the back of the sofa. Replaced the original foam cushioning, polished the wood(which has a black speckled finish) and reupholstered the sofa using Kravet Smart So Chic indigo-colored synthetic microsude. This is a 1950's or late 1940's modern design. Split sofa in original condition. The photos tell the story, it's 8 feet 8 inches long. One of the sections is faded from sunlight. There is some light wear due to age, and on one of the cushions the fabric is splitting, but overall it's very good. The foam and all the fabric is original to this piece and over 60+ years old. This was the pride and joy of it's owner when moving to the suburbs in the late 1940's(mid century modern home) and was still sitting in the original living room.
