From all of my research I believe this to be an Adrian Pearsall floating sofa. I could not find any manufactures marking. It is in very good vintage condition. The only notable damage is to the bottom wood. The black canvas material is not damaged. The cushions with the patterned fabric have some fraying and should be recovered. Mid-century modern sectional sofa circa 1960 Harvey Probber
Up for sale is this elegant vintage 3-piece sectional sofa from my parents' Chicago lakefront apartment. Purchased in 1963 with the apartment. Along with other furniture including Directional, Dunbar, Wormley, and Paul Evans. The designer said this piece was by Harvey Probber. It was reupholstered in the mid-1960s in this silk velvet with a plain grey fabric on the back. Lumbar cushions were also added at that time and could easily be removed. See pictures of smallest section with lumbar pillows removed. All but one of the original brass tapered legs was replaced with chrome steel to match the Paul Evans Cityscape chrome tables that were in the same living room. T he piece measures 28" h X 30" deep. the longer segment is 84" and the shorter segment is 62" The total configuration is about 120" X 140" the sofa ... moreis structually very sound. The silk velvet shows wear but is intact except for only one small half-inch tear as pictured. The cushions are in great shape including the foam. Rare Vintage Milo Baughman Jack Lenor Larsen Sectional Sofa Mid Century Modern
Immaculately preserved sectional sofa by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. Draped in amazing Jack Lenor Larsen fabric. This is truly a rare specimen. The previous owners had a custom cover made for the sofa, which has protected the fabric for at least 30 years. Colors remain vibrant and stunning. Base is comprised of walnut peg legs and a thin walnut trim around the bottom edge. Great lines, solid construction, and of course, the most coveted of fabrics in near mint condition. w 135" x 108" sections measure individually 102" 108" h 30" including back cushions | 25.5" to back of sofa d 32.5" Seat Depth 19.5" Seat Height 18" There are no labels. However I submitted photos to Thayer Coggin, and they believe this to be a Milo Baughman design based on their archives. And a small tear to a seam on the outer inside corner of the shorter section. This is covered by the cushions but mentioning for accuracy. Foam has some minor hardening on the very back top edge, otherwise soft throughout including all cushions. Legs are in very good condition, no scratches or scuffs to legs or trim. Could benefit from a light refinish to liven up the wood, but just as beautiful in as-is vintage condition. I am very thorough with condition descriptions. Adrian Pearsall/ Dunbar style mid century three piece sectional. I bought these 8 years ago and had them recovered in scarlet red. They have been in my vacation house in central Wisconsin since then. Mid Century Sectional Modern Sofa Vintage Couch Milo Baughman Eames Wood Veneer
This is a vintage. Mid century modern low profile sectional sofa, probably from the late 60's-early 70's. Not sure who designed or made it, but its very similar to some of the Milo baughman pieces from that era. It's a 3 piece sectional. The largest piece has the attached side table. And measures approx 83" long. Then 2nd sofa piece measures approx 66" long, and is approx 26" deep. The 3rd piece, the connecting wedge, or"triangle" Adds an additional 44" of length to each side. Giving all 3 pieces an overall length of approx 127" on the long side(with the attached table included) and 110" of overall length on the shorter side. The frame is well built. And quite heavy. The wood grain is a dark, chocolate black colored synthetic veneer, and the legs are solid chromed steel. Also, the fabric ... moreon this piece is a beige microfiber, but since it was custom designed to be removeable, it is extremely easy to wash. And if you wanted to get it reupholstered. The beige microfiber cover can be used by any upholsterer as the pattern to reupholster the sofa in any fabric or color you want. This makes it easier(and less expensive) to reupholster than any other piece like it. As you can see, the actual sofa fabric under the cover is in pristine condition! This is really an amazing piece. We purchased it from the original owner about 2 years ago. And built our entire aesthetic for our home around this sofa. The telescoping triangle side tables are able to expand from 45° to 90°. This allows you to change the shape of the sectional as desired. Assembled as a U formation as photographed measures 88" D x 24" T x 178" Condition: The fiberglass frames are all structurally sound with no cracks or breaks. There are a few areas of wear and scratches on the side tables that are consistent with age. Three of the love seats are in excellent condition. The fourth is in good condition but does have some slight waves to the surface on the bottom. This was most likely caused by sitting too close to a heater source. This is hardly noticeable and does not affect the structure. You could use this piece against a wall if desired. The original suede upholstery is true suede. Heavy. Durable, soft and playable. I recommend having it professionally cleaned and Scotch Guarded. The only mark looks to be a pen mark that a cleaner should be able to remove. All the cushions are loose with zippers. This makes them very easy to upholster if needed. All pieces have the original foil sticker"Gavina" labels. This is a Castro Convertible sectional sleeper sofa from 1962. The sleeper is single size. Serial# 21170564. The sofa is in excellent condition and the upholstery is original. The upholstery has some fading on the ends due to sunlight over the years. And the legs have minimal scratches from the vacuum, but nothing that can't be covered up. It comes from a smoke free/pet free home; original owner. Dimensions are: height: 30 ½" Depth: 33 ½" curve' 35" at the arm Length: was a little hard to measure. But the total is somewhere around 108" the curved piece is 71" the short piece(sleeper) is 40" On the last photo.
