We are selling a Victorian Settee- I'm not sure how old it is exactly but I'd guess that it's from the mid to late 1800's. I purchased it from an antique store a few years ago and they didn't have any information about it. It's a pretty teal color- the back is the same as the front(the flash from the camera makes it look a little lighter but it's not) It is nicely carved and the upholstery is in very good condition- no stains or rips. I am not sure if the upholstery is original or not. The sofa measures approximately 64" long. 25" wide and the seat sits at 16. As with any piece of older furniture there are some nicks and dings in the wood but it is a beautiful sofa. Local pick up only within 10 calendar days of winning bid. The detailed Rose is on the front in two places and also centered on the back. The wood carving on the back of the piece is as detailed as the front. This auction is for a really pretty antique victorian love seat/settee. I think the wood is walnut. The decoration across the top wood looks like nuts or fruit and flowers of some kind that is carved. The velvet material is a very pale reddish cranberry. The pictures are very true to the color. The back is tufted. The wood frame is pretty sturdy. It measures about 59 inches long from the widest part of the wood frame on top. It stands about 34 inches tall to the top of the fruit. Hi for sale I have a freshly reupholstered antique settee. My upholster upon recovering the piece discovered that the settee is from the late Victorian era. Very rare to see a painted piece of this age. He also thought that the settee might be European. Possibly Italian or French. At one time the settee was on castors or wheels. The piece sits a little low, so if you want more height you could add some castors. There are fittings for the castors on the bottom of the legs. At this height the settee is perfect for a bedroom or master bath. As stated in the title, I have had this piece totally cleaned, fixed, tightend, new cushions, new padding and I have had it recovered by a professional. with that said, the fabric, labor and materials added up to a great sum. Antique Victorian Settee Tufted Peach All Original Great Condition
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SETTEE PARLOUR SOFA ALL ORIGINAL GREAT CONDITION The following description is the best I can convey considering I am not an antiques expert. This piece was passed down to me by relatives so the historical origin is unknown. I cannot find any markings indicating maker or date but assume it is circa 1875-1895 considering comparable pieces I have found. It appears to be all original with tufted peach fabric. It is free of rips but could use a cleaning. There is a small stain on the upper right portion of the fabric from the front and on the upper left portion of fabric when viewed from the back. There is normal wear and some very faint staining to the seat and I have not tried to clean this piece. The hand carved wood is either walnut or mahogany with beautiful details of flowers and leaves and is in super condition. The original ... morebrass casters are on the front and it appears the back legs never had casters. The frame is sturdy and intact and the bottom shows original strapping. Springs and horsehair. Three piece living room set featuring a settee. Rotating piano bench and two-tier gout stool, all carved from beautiful dark woods and upholstered in matching pink fabric with a fan-like design. The settee features and elaborate carved back crowned with a scallop shell design. The arms and legs have sinuous curved shapes. This piece is in good to very good condition with minor wear to the wood. But no significant breaks or visible repairs. The upholstery on the seat has faded somewhat, especially on the left side and has some water spots as well. The settee stands 39" tall and measures 36 1/4" wide and about 22" deep. The piano stool was manufactured by Merriam& Co of South Acton. MA. The stool has been carved with knobs and scroll-like designs reminiscent of Eastlake style. Circa 1880, in excellent condition. The chaise boasts(when facing) a right-hand raised sweeping and carved arm. The back ... moreframe, which is also carved, sweeps down finishing near the level of the seat. The front of the chaise has a serpentine shape, likewise the end of the chaise. The chaise is deep buttoned and is button upholstered in beige draylon upholstery. The chaise features cream ceramic mug and brass castors, original splayed legs to the back(a sign of good quality) and original scroll end cabriole legs to the front. The frame and legs are constructed of solid walnut. This is a very good quality chaise longue. The chaise features the original polish; therefore they boast a rich deep oak colour and patination. It has a beautiful deep rich patina. Which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care it has received. This truly is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. It is rare to see one in such good condition. This item would certainly grace any home. Antique Victorian 4 pc Mahogany Parlor Set Settee Claw Feet
You are bidding on a 4 piece Victorian Parlor set. This piece has ornate designs on the top of each piece and the fabric is base white with green scrolls and flower patterns. Beautiful. Clawed feet. This set is in great shape except for the middle loveseat- on the bottom middle board that was attached to the front under rim- this was accidentally pulled loose by the movers when they were moving it from my father's home to our storage area. I do not have a photo of the damage yet but I think it can be easily re-attached. I am stating this in honesty. And the piece is in storage 1.5 hours away from me. This piece was purchased several years ago thru a local auction house. It was used for decoration only in my home. We never sat on it and now it's time to redo my living room. It is the size of a love seat in modern furniture terms, in very good condition but please view All the photos and judge for yourself! I think the fabric might be original, or at least it looks a part of the piece, it's also in great shape. Honestly you could just plunk this down in your home without doing a thing to it. I don't know for sure what type wood was used but I believe it is a stained black walnut. The carving is beautiful and lines all typical to the period. For sale is a beautiful matching Eastlake Victorian 3-piece set of antique chairs that have been in my family in the Lexington. SC area for several generations. It has been in the formal living room of our home for the last 12 years in a smoke-free household.
