Momma loved her vivacious blue. Exquisitely carved rosewood Victorian sofa. She loved her antiques and she wanted her things to be lively and vibrant and memorable. The sofa sat in the"parlor" as momma was a proper southern girl with a bit of wild streak) Note the upholstery; she chose this blue-not-quite-damask like fabric and spent a small fortune on it so it would show off the gorgeous carvings of roses and be a conversation piece. Momma liked attention. She was a very young 85-year old full of whimsy, curiosity, and a lot of sass. The measurements are approximately 74 1/2" at its longest, the feet are 68 3/4" The greatest depth of the couch is 37" The height of the sofa at its tallest is 43 1/2" the sides are closer to 40 3/4" tall. This sofa/ couch was made in the Civil War era. 1820-1860) It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand carved walnut wood about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around the front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" But it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue. It is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover. That is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric. It is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. Vintage Antique Blue Mahogany Victorian Couch (1890) Amazing Woodwork
This gorgeous. Deep blue and mahogany vintage Victorian sofa is too big for our new apartment, so we're sadly parting with it. It was built in 1890 and although the wood shows its age in a few small areas(see pictures) She is in beautiful condition for being almost 125 years old. In the 1960s. The couch was re-covered and stuffed, so it doesn't have the original, matted down horsehair stuffing most sofas from these days have. Instead, it is a springy, plush cushion. There is one stain(I've compared it to the size of a dime) on the main cushion and a couple of lighter spots from wear-and-tear. If you have any questions. Please ask. This is an amazing beautiful matched set of antique vintage salesman sample or child's chase lounge or settee couch and matching chair in PURPLE! This is all solid carved wood from the late 1800's according to the previous owner. This is not reproduction. These are in excellent shape. And were though to be made for the children of the wealthy Victorian high class when purchasing similar furniture for their home or used as salesman samples. The child size couch is 19 inches tall, approximately 34 inches long about 28 inches across on the armrests, and 16 approx. inches deep. Hello. Today I am offering up for bids this really neat Victorian style"Fainting Couch or Chase Lounge" It is doll size with wooden legs and frame and a stuffed green cloth top. I purchased this at an auction about 12 years ago. The auctioneer thought it could have been a salesman sample and stated that at the time of the sale. It also could have been used for a store display. You be the judge. It weighs over 6 pounds. It is 23 inches long. 9 inches wide and at its tallest it is 9 inches. The green painted feet have some paint warn and flaked off, giving it a true early distressed look. The green stuffed covering does not looked damaged but will need to be cleaned. Below, the back is attached to the base with solid turned arms. The seat is hinged and reveals a useful large storage area below for shoes or boots. It is in exceptionally good condition. Pure class and luxury! The solid wood finely carved floral crest creates an incredible accent for this sofa and makes it such a unique piece that it would be difficult to find anywhere else. It does have a very comfortable cushioned back and seat. There is a richly carved grained wood frame of the entire perimeter along with a fabric gold inlaid ribbon. Supported by cabriolet legs. It had been reupholstered in a rich dark cocoa brown velvety type of material that would blend in well with many decors. And was thought to be made for the children of the wealthy Victorian high class when purchasing similar furniture for their home or used as salesman samples. Most likely it was a salesman sample as the legs are slightly different on each side, possibly showing options for footing size. For auction I have a really beautiful doll size antique Victorian chair and love seat. I purchased these at an estate sale. I'm not sure if there meant to be for dolls or if it was a salesman sample set. But at this sale it was full of Victorian clothes and Victorian furniture. It has the Rose on top of them carved in the wood just like I've seen on real furniture. It's a velvet red material. The love seat measures 15in long X 15 tall. The chair measures 9in X 16 1/2 tall. The legs on the love seat look as though they were broke and put back on at one time. Other than that there both in nice condition. I'm no expert but look at pics for best description. Bought this in the late 1960's from the old Santa Barbara Hotel Upholstery is a warm gold. Lighter than the photograph, and the upholstery is in perfect condition. No rips, tears, stains, nothing to detract from this timeless piece. Hand carved wood throughout the back. Arms, bottom and legs. The hotel management it had been there since the building of the hotel. And when I had it reupholstered, they removed 8 layers of silks from prior upholsteries! Antique Carved Victorian Sweetheart Couch Frame
This is a wonderful Victorian couch frame made out of rosewood. It is in good shape. All the carvings are hand done. Not applied. The wood has the original finish. The dimensions are 65 inches long, 41 inches high and 26 inches wide. It was probably made in Hartford Connecticut in the 1860's. A great project for those who like to do upholstering. This is civil war period furniture. The inside dimensions for sitting is 50 inches long and 18 inches deep.

Antique Pink Victorian Couch Sofa Love Seat Shabby Chic SEE PICS 1800's Chair
You are looking at a Victorian style love seat/sofa. The wood is still in great condition with no visible wear. The couch is sill firm and sturdy and can be used for everyday living or just an ornamental conversation piece. The upholstery at the seat area has had maybe a coffee or tea spill. The fabric appears to be of satin. You can't tell the couch has spill stains on it from halfway across the room. The marks are subtle. The size is 58' across and 37 1/2 inches tall. It's just the perfect size where it won't take up too much space. The Clayton family brought this piece from their collection with them and had it moved in when they first had a summer house built in 1923 in what is now historic Avondale.
