We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique settee/chair. This piece has gorgeous. Parisian lines and features a wooden frame with ornately carved floral details in the French, Louis XVI style. The frame is whitewashed and is paired with a gold striped velvety fabric. The paint is very old and may very well be original to the chair. The gold does pull a light green in certain lighting so there is a greenish undertone to the gold. The chair is antique to older vintage and is from the early half of the 20th century. It is rounded in shape with a curved/arched back. The chair has a removable cushion(not attached to the chair) It is stuffed with a combination of feathers and batting. The cushion is very full and comfortable to sit on. The chair has had a custom slip cover made for it at some point. The cover is a heavy cotton and has zippers ... morelocated on the back of the cover and on the cushion. It has finished details such as piping and ruffles. It hides the wooden frame but it is custom made for the chair and therefore I am including it with the chair. The original fabric is in very good condition with only minor signs of age/wear. There are no rips, tears, etc. The wood is also good with a"chippy" paint appearance that adds to the aged character. The frame is in good condition for its age. There are some minor cracks which are not severe and can be corrected if you so desire. The chair is sturdy but, because of its age, it is not a piece that is meant for everyday or heavy use. It is a lovely accent chair with elegant and graceful lines and details. I am guessing that the slipcover is about 40 years old(based on the stitching and the zipper style) It is in very good condition but it does need to be hand washed as it does have some soiling around the bottom where it has touched the floor. There is only one metal screw showing- at the underside of the armless chair. All other connections have plugs. They are 40" tall, 22" wide, seats are 17" deep, the backs are 14" wide and the settee is 41" wide. As you can see there is extensive carving of acanthus leaves and clamshell designs with openwork throughout. Antique Dollhouse Miniature Metal Lyre Back Sofa Settee& Rocking Chair Set These interesting antique dollhouse miniatures were made in the USA. Sometime in the late 1890s to very early 1900s. They both have a"Patent Pending" stamp on the bottoms, but no manufacturers name or logo. Both are made of soft metal with flocked paperboard seats. They are very similar to German-made items of the same period, but this set is made of sturdier metal finished in much finer detail. The settee measures about 3 1/4" wide, 2 3/8" tall at the back, and 1 1/2" deep. The rocking chair measures about 1 3/4" wide, 2 1/4" tall at the back, and 1 5/8" deep. This set is in excellent condition, and neither of the pieces is broken, bent, or discolored. The only issue to report is a slight(3/8" scratch on the settee ... moreflocking, which is pretty minor given the age of the set. I just picked this up at one of my favorite auction houses and always try to purchase any decent settee sofa when I can affordably. This is in very nice condition and the material may not go great everywhere but I'm sure someone has a décor that yellow will work in. It has had been done and was not a cheap job with the buttons on the backside. The frame is nice and no signs of any repairs and the size is perfect for a bedroom or foyer. It measures 58" wide x 35" high comes out from wall 29" and the seat height 16" It has original casters on it bringing it up about an inch of the sixteen and they roll wonderfully. I could not find any makers tags or marks on it as you rarely would with the bottom being redone but it is quality and I would think 1910 time frame maybe bit older. Fantastic estate sale purchase. This is just lovely, wonderful carving, wonderful shape and form. great size low like slipper chair, measures 31" tall, 15 inches to top of seat. It is 41 inches wide and 20 inches deep. Perfect size for end of bed or in the ladies bedroom, extremely comfortable. It is sturdy as can be was painted white not so well a long time ago, needs new upholstery and has the old springs all good but need to be retied, sag a little bit, all minor stuff, this is a charmer. This unique Anglo- Indian settee was once a part of the Baldwin Family Estate. Of Newark, New Jersey. They were the founders of The New England Life Insurance Company. Founded in the 1800's. Most of their furnishings were donated to the Newark Museumas they had no close living heirs at the time of he sale of the home. It was appraised in the late 1970's in Houston. Texas for $35,000. A 19th Century Anglo-Indian hardwood settee elaborately carved and pierced with flowers and foliage. Of double spoon back design, with an upholstered serpentine fronted seat and apron, an animal carved front legs. The cushion needs reupholstering but other than that it's in excellent condition! A very nice antique. Circa 1860's, Rococo Revival serpentine mahogany sofa settee. The crest is carved acanthus leaf scrolls. The front arm rest supports are scroll carved, the skirt above the front spade feet with a rectangular leaf rosette. It has been reupholstered with a golden yellow silky floral fabric. Settee measures 3'9" 45" tall by 7'2" 86" wide by 2'6" 30" deep, the seat 21" deep. Excellent condition: original finish to mahogany, no chips or cracks, minor finish scratches to backrest frame. The fancy turned balusters and the flower petal shaped carvings on these pieces replicated their larger counterparts, which were produced in Brittany, France.
