This tops a three paneled back separated by an open carved scolloped design. The padded arms have a wonderfully carved panel underneath. The scroll shaped walnut arm supports also with incised carvings on the inside and outside lead to beautifully turned legs. The measurements are 38 inches tall. 53 inches long, 26 inches deep, and 19 inches from seat to floor. The weight is about 35 lbs. The large arm chair offers the same wonderful features as the settee. The measurements are 38 inches high, 25 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 17 inches from seat to floor. The weight is about 20 lbs. The table has a triple arch upper leg section with wooden finials attached at each arched opening. The two center legs are turned wood with carved and painted accents. These legs sit atop a circular disk/cup which are fixed on the long stretcher. There are circular, disk appliques in varying sizes attached to the table on the corbels under the table top. There are large, rounded finials attached just under the table top at each corner of the table. The carved arches, the corbels and the stretcher are all finished in a light olive paint with an antique glazing brushed on top. The finials at the arches, the ends, and all of the disk appliques are gold ... moreleaf with the same glazing technique applied over the gold leaf. The legs/feet of the base, the turned wood legs and the table top are finished in a dark brown stain. The table retains the old, flat screws used in its construction. The finials show some evidence of being attached via dowels. The table is quite beautiful. It is in very good condition with only minor evidence of age and use. The table is large. Entire length of chaise is 63" long and 37" at highest point and the arm rest is 21 1/2 inches tall. This chaise lounge is upholstered in a rose velvet that is is good condition with a few minor soil and wear marks. The chaise has some minor marks but is in very good condition overall. Beautiful antique table base with 3 ornate. Hand carved wood legs on center, turned wood support column. The legs have fabulous, carved lion paw and claw feet with intricate detail. The base is large and can support a large top, either rectangular or oval. The three leg design make it perfect for an entry or sofa table. The table base is very sturdy and strong and could support marble. It is in very good condition with some expected evidence of age. It has some general scuffs to the finish and there is a small chip out of one foot. This is not easily noticed and is not distracting. The base measures 27" tall. It is 38" wide and 22" front to back. The base is hollow and the legs are bolted to the interior of the base. We will remove the legs for shipping. Shipping via UPS with insurance provided for you. Antique Eighteenth Century Hand-Carved Sofa
Nice eighteenth century antique sofa with beautiful carved and scrolled woodwork all around the perimeter. And down the front of the armrests. It has claw& ball feet. It has a small tear approximately 3" long on the right hand side backrest area and a small worn spot on the lower front(see photos) It is a beige color with a semi-floral pattern. I'm not positive, but I believe that the upholstery is original. It is 74" long from armrest to armrest. I have an antique empire sofa. Have a lot more detail photos that I can't upload so message me if you are sincerely interested. And I will message all of them to you. I'm not an expert on antique furniture, but here is what I have found based on research and my careful observations. Be sure to study pictures closely. It is a rare sofa. dating back to the 1800's. There is no date on sofa. This was from my searches. I found one other sofa that looks almost identical, and I will link to that site and you can read their description as well. I had the link here. Look at the pictures of the bottom. Sturdy boards in good shape. ... moreThe springs in the seat are tight. To my knowledge. Everything looks original. but I cannot guarantee that) Square nails in the bottom boards, old tacks holding the backing in place. The backing has medium size tear in it, and a few small ones, but not bad over all. I do not know if the upholstry is original. It is in good shape. In the one corner. It is worn through(see picture) but it's a very small patch. That is the only worn out patch I found. There are a few scuff marks as you can see on the picture, but in my opinion, it's in beautiful condition. I love when things not only are old, but'look old' It's solid wood with a veneer. Why they did this. I do not know. Cover wood with another wood veneer, but so it is. I checked out the pictures in the link I shared, and their wood looks identical to this, so I think it's safe to say their description would be accurate of this one as well. There are a few flicks out of the veneer. A little at the end of both arm rests. Also, included a picture of the one corner of the back. seems some of the wood came loose and was glued back in. Antique Eighteenth Century Hand-Carved Sofa/Couch
Eighteenth century antique sofa. Hand carved woodwork. It has claw& ball feet. It has a small tear approximately 3" long on the right hand side backrest area and a small worn spot on the lower front(see photos) There is some slight fraying of the upholstery on the arm rest. These flaws can be seen in the photos. It is a beige color with a semi-floral pattern. I'm not positive. But I believe that the upholstery is original. It is 74" long from armrest to armrest.

Including dining furniture, bedroom furniture, and drawing room furniture, as well as lighting and ornamental pieces. Very impressive antique William IV mahogany sofa dating from the 1830-40 period. It's in very good original condition& has just been re-upholstered in a linen fabric. The frame has plenty of character& is sturdy too. This sofa is beautifully carved all over& the legs have that typical William IV tulip design which was unique to that period. In fact all the carving on this piece is unique to that period. The legs have the original brass capped porcelain casters attached. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the details& ... morethe depth of the carvings. There is also a strip of brass between the upholstery& the frame. Which also looks original. What I like most about this item is the slimness in the depth, which takes away the bulky look. This sofa is believed to be Austrian from the 1870's. And has been in the family for over 30 years. It has carved lion arm rests and a beautiful finish on the sides(not shown) looking like fountain or firework shower. This finish continues to the sofa backing, partly obscured by the cushion insert. The insert is customer made, and does need re-upholstery. Or it can be removed and a different insert put in it's place.
