For your consideration. Seth Thomas clock. This clock has a duel chime that chimes on the quarter hour. Keeps time well, doors open and close as they should. All brass has been polished, case has been redone, the dial is clean. This clock has been tested and works as well as it did in the early 1900's, clock is running fast at this time, will try to adjust. This is an 8 day wind clock that will need your attention every seven to eight days for winding. Comes with key and original brass sided pendulum. The finish is supreme and will not need any attention. Take it out of the box and display. Office or home, this is a wonderful antique from the Seth Thomas Collection. Seth Thomas made clocks starting in 1813. Fine products made in the early 1900's were mostly made of brass which does not wear, just gets neglected. Seth Thomas Antique Mantel Clock Beehive 89MV Key Pendulum Refinished
Early 1900's Seth Thomas Clock. The Beehive was a popular product in the 1918's or so. The case has been refinished to factory standards. The movement is an 89 ST cleaned and oiled. Mainsprings are in good condition and greased. Gongs on the hour to represent the time and once on the half hour. The dial is in"A- condition the doors open and close as they should. Back door is tricky and not perfect, it does open and close tightly. Brass feet have been polished as is all brass on the item, hinges, screws bezel, etc. I have tried to make this clock as close to factory as possible. The clock as a whole will show its age here and there, it will be up to you to find it, cosmetically it is"A" ST made fine products, they are still working after nearly 100 years. If this clock is maintained every five years or so, it will last ... morefor another century. 8 day movement needs to be wound every 7 to 8 days and will keep you busy, but will keep you company around the home. HELLO. And Thanks for stopping in! Vintage NEW HAVEN MANTEL CLOCK- WIND-UP 12 DAY JEWELED with most of the gears. The frame that is cracked and broken, face, and hands with engraved artist markings? Condition: Please know that I'm not a clock or watch expert. But even though I'm presenting this for'parts or repair, I will still give you the best description I can. Most of the parts appear to be there. The key winds. But I don't hear the mechanical movement. The lever for the hand movement moves, but the hands seem to be stuck. The other levers and hardware that protrude from the back plate are there. The interior mechanical parts appear to be mostly intact, but whether some are missing or not, I cannot be sure of. The wooden framing has a few flaws.there is a 2-1/2" area missing out of the top front; there's also ... morea complete split across the right top adjacent to the center; and. There are 2 hairline cracks going down the sides nearest to the edge of the front molding. The overall wood finish is in decent condition. But has some nicks, and scratches. The base is intact. And there is one smoothed-off nick. The small gun metal gray metal feet are intact. The face plate is in decent shape, but the off-white patina has lots of tiny scratches, and is dirty. The gold numbering, and the black minute/second indicator marks are intact. There are no dings or dents. There is no glass. From its general looks I believe it is a great restoration piece. Or has plenty of good parts for another. Design. Other information, and history: I don't know the name of the wood. But it's a dark tone dark brown hardwood that shows some of its natural grain. I'm not sure of the finish. There are two triangular shapes rendered in thin lines carved into the front frame whose top edge is in black.I'm not sure if it's a stain or paint, but it looks to be the original finish. Please consider this Seth Thomas 8 day mantle clock with the Westminster chimes. The clock is 20 inches wide. 9 and 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches deep. The clock movement has been cleaned and tested so is in good operating condition for both time and chime. The movement is marked as the 124 model. The clock plays the westminster melody at each quarter hour and then also counts the number of the hour on the hour. The clock case is in overall good condition. The dial has very mild fading but remains quite readable. The glass over the dial is excellent and the front bezel closes right. The rear door also snaps shut like it should. The finish has slight varnish loss in a couple of areas. Far left side and the inlay area. Almost looks like too much heat at some point and the finish cracked. Have to have the right light angle to see and need to ... morebe up close but they needed to be mentioned. The case and movement are marked as 1931 The pendulum and key look to be original.
