Antique Viking Silverplate Water Pitcher Vintage Home Decor GREAT FIND!!!
This is a very impressive VIKING EPNS water pitcher with very interesting lines and features. It measures approximately 10" from the base to the handle and 5 1/2" from the handle to the spout. The solid base is 4 1/2" in diameter. As you can see from the pictures. T is a band of silver around the middle and this continues on the base of the pitcher. The outside of the rim on the pitcher is lined with 3/8" elongated pieces of silver that each end with a tiny silver bead. The top of the handle has a scroll design with 4 silver beads that start at the top of the scroll and then graduate down. The trim on the rim of the pitcher coupled with the handle design give this pitcher a truly unique and elegant flair! The bottom of the pitcher has the mark of the Viking headgear followed by the word VIKING. The initials EPNS are then ... morestamped indicating electro plate nickel silver. Just discovered this week from an estate sale is this vintage Dansk Jen Quistgaard teak Viking ice bucket from the 60's. It measures 15 1/2" tall. The ice bucket is not in excellent condition. And if you look carefully, you will see that it cracked on one side, and was re-glued(not very well) So this piece will need some repair, or just shown from the opposite side.
