Stamped on the botton with" SOWE AB SOWE KNOST SOVESTAD SWEDEN genuine teak" The container/jar is made of solid teak wood and made in Sweden. The jar measures 4-3/4" H x 4-3/4" L x 4-3/4" W. The inside measurements are 4-1/8" in diameter and 3-7/8" deep. There is a small dent on the coner of back side. There are some stains inside the container as shown in the pictures. Important Early Heavily Decorated David Parr Baltimore, MD Stoneware Crock Jar
Up for your consideration is a scarce 1 1/2 gallon Baltimore MD stoneware crock attributed to David Parr Pottery within 1823 to 1832. You don't see them this early pop up very often at all. Heavy cobalt florals decorate all the way around the ovoid form(4 times) Stamped"1 1/2" on the collar with small tab ears for handles.10 3/4" tall.27" around the middle.7" diameter at the mouth and 6 1/4" on the base. Great condition for it's early age even with several small flakes off the rim.one on the handle and a hand size crack on the bottom edge and bottom that is repaired. I'm not sure if the piece was broken out and repaired(with no loss of clay) or just glued to stabilize it. The pot feels perfect and strong. Please check the pictures very careful and draw your own conclusion. I stand behind my description ... moreif you're not satisfied. VTG APOTHECARY JAR *BATH SALTS* JEANNE ROBINETTE MIDCENTURY PORCELAIN OLD FLORAL
You are bidding on: A VINTAGE HANDPAINTED AND GOLD GILT APOTHECARY JAR. SELS DU BAIN" BATH SALTS MID-CENTURY OR OLDER JEANNE ROBINETTE OF CALIFORNIA EXCLUSIVELY FOR CARA NOME. Gorgeous older apothecary jar is about 3 3/4" diameter and stands about 8 1/4" tall with the lid. Is a beautiful robins' egg blue on white base pottery. With handpainted floral panel and gilded trim and lid knob. Typically this gilt trim would be 22k gold, but I can't say for sure as no karat weight is given. Sels du Bain" handpainted on the lid translates from French to"Bath Salts. There are NO chips. Cracks, hairlines, fleabites or repairs. While there may be a couple original-manufacture quirks like minute paint slips, there is little or no wear to paint and gold trim. And anything that may look like damage in photos is simply light ... morereflecting off the very shiny glazing. There IS an all-over crazing in the glaze which attests to the age of the piece. See photos. Markings on the bottom are: Jeanne Robinette of California Hand Decorated Originals" and underglaze stamp: Made Exclusively for Cara Nome. Impossible to date this piece exactly. But there are a few clues. I collect a little bit(or a mountain! of everything; I don't remember exactly where I got this apothecary jar. But I've had it for maybe 15 years or more. the crazing in the glaze is the sort that cannot be faked. And puts this pottery somewhere around 50 years or better. United Drug first produced Cara Nome perfumes as early as 1918. And the scent/brand was apparently very popular through the mid-century. I've seen information that indicates these apothecary jars were manufactured in the 1950's. Some of which were used display items in Rexall drug jars, but this one does not have Rexall lettering stamped on the back. Plenty of photos above. Antique,ceramic toothpaste crock jar pot lid...with rare original label seals!
You are bidding on an antique. Ceramic, under-glaze transferred toothpaste container. However, this one is an antique"pot lid" with a difference. In that most of the original"paper sealer" which attached the top section(lid) with the bottom section(base) is still intact! It is rare to find original"paper seals" on these old pieces! This is the first one I have seen in over 20 years of collecting. On this particular design pot lid. This pot lid dates to between 1900-1905. Condition of the item is good! It shows the customary glaze crazing. It measures 2 1/2" X 1 5/8" and stands 1 1/8" tall when the lid is in place on the base-plate. The base"plate" is very thin. see pic.9) but a"cake" of hardened"tooth soap" which was almost as high as the lid section, would have been ... moreset on the plate and the toothbrush scraped across the cake, each time the tooth soap was used. A great little piece for your collection. one with a difference. Namely the original paper sealers on 4 sides of the rectangular pot lid. Early Mentholatum Milk Glass jar made by the Mentholatum Company(founded in 1889) Buffalo. New York. The jar is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or nicks. The lid is in excellent condition with no rust or dents, but does show signs of use. The paper label is intact, but stained and has some fading. The jar is still about ½ full of product. The bottom is embossed with MENTHOLATUM REG TRADEMARK and measures about 2 ¾ inches tall X 2 ¼ inches in diameter. This would make a wonderful addition to your collection.

J Bennage 1830's ovoid jar. Stamp is upside down. I can't make out the last# in year. What I can make out is 183. So stamp reads J Bennage 183? Jar is 9.5 in. tall, 7.5 wide, mouth opening 4.5 inches. No lid. Blue applied to handles front facing& stamping. Not cleaned. Small chips on mouth, 1/2 in. chip side of mouth, a few hairline cracks to back and side, a few pings from that look from making. Please see pics I've tried to show and describe everything. The neck decorated with a human face, shown with almond shaped eyes, the nose and mouth modeled and the long black hair protruding from underneath a painted cap. Old Blue Ball Mason Jar circa late 1800's This jar was found under a share crop house on a SC plantation in a wooden box along with several unique items! The jar itself is truly marvelous with the blue hue tinted glass with hand blown imperfections like bubbles in the glass and uneven bottom. Apparently it was a child's stash jar because inside of it was full of treasures! Stuffed inside was a old stuffed teddy bear(available on another auction of mine. Also was a beautiful arrowhead that has blue spots all over it. Also two broke arrowheads. Some very old fishing tackle one primitive lure and two old cork floats. Also a quarts crystal with some other quarts rock with red vanes running through it. Quite a find! This is a rare one of a kind item! So don't let this treasure get away. VTG.ASIAN GINGER JAR COBALT BLUE MALE/FEMALE PEACOCK FLAT TOP LID W/SEAL INSIDE
You are looking at VINTAGE COBALT BLUE PORCELAIN ASIAN GINGER JAR. On the front. It has painted scene with the male and female peacock. The lid is flat, and in Pic. 4, you can see where it has a sticker with either a Signature, or just Chinese writing. The lid has a cork looking piece all around the inside to make it seal when put on. In Pic. 6, you can see what appears to be remnants of Ginger still in the jar. It measures from the bottom to the top of the lid 6" and to the top edge of the jar 5" I see no cracks, chips, breaks, or crazing. It's in excellent condition. Ginger Jars are highly collectible, and still people use them for Ginger. My camera does not take excellent pictures. But I do hope you can zoom in and see what you need to see.
