Her late husband collected them along the Miller's River near Athol many years ago! Here are four(4) average grade Mid-Archaic to Woodland Period(6.000-1,500 yr. old) KNIFE BLADES or PREFORMS from Worcester County. Massachusetts. The two largest are 2 1/4 in. long and the other two are 2 in. long. Thicknesses average 3/8 in. to 1/2 in. All are made of varying grades of weathered tan to pink quartzite. The term"preform" means an artifact basically prepared to be finished into a projectile point or knife. All are basically in good condtion. These are good study pieces although some may display well. WOOD SCULPTURE with Indian Native American face, artist Carol Wilson SPIRIT 1980
This is a beautiful wood sculpture. I wish my camera could better capture it. I am not completely familiar with the materials so the following description is to the best of my ability. If you have any questions. Ask before you bid. The face is made from a thin fabric– probably a stocking. Tea-stained- with sewn black eyes. I think there might be a tiny seed or bead for the iris of the eye. The grey hair might be spun wood. Braided with rawhide. The head is crowned with rabbit fur. Seedpod, feathers and a bit of cornhusk. It is attached to a piece of rough wood that measures approx. 23.5” long and 7.5” wide and about 3” thick. The entire face measures approx. 13” at the longest point and 6” across. The face alone(no hair) measures approx. 2” in diameter. There is a paper card attached in the front(see pictures. Historic original large 1/4 plate tintype period photograph of three Indian Wars soldiers with hat insignia of the 8th Regiment. Company D, posed against a studio backdrop, circa 1870s. The soldiers are wearing five button frock coat uniforms associated with the Indian Wars era and their regiment is clearly identified by the hat insignia. While the number 8 above the crossed rifles is clearly seen. The D appears to be"backward" in the photo because tintype photos are actually reversed(or mirror) images. The soldier on the far right of the photo is wearing a medal on his uniform(see scanned photos) Also note that this soldier may have sustained a war injury. Because he is posed with one arm positioned behind his back. A very helpful eBayer shared this information: The uniform coats are M-1873. Hello. Up for bid is a pair of Indian Wars or Spanish American war leggings. Looks like a private purchase type. I cant say for sure. They are old and in pretty good shape. Heavy canvas material shows age and wear. Buckles are present and working. The leather boot straps are present but are a little dry. Still good for static display. These are nine grommet type leggings with their original brass tipped laces. There are some red ink marks on the front and some on the inside. I can see a 98 and some faint inner marks. There is some age and moth ball smell. Not bad and it goes away. Canvas is intact and without holes. Check out all of the photos and ask questions if needed. US bidders only. Hello. Up for bid is a pair of Indian wars/ Spanish American war officers leggings. Thats what I always thought. I am not sure exactly what they were used for. You decide. They are very old. They are in good shape with some age and wear. Original brass tipped ties present and in good shape. One rip in the side of one leg. They have an age and moth ball smell that goes away. They are very tall knee high type leggings. Looks like something you would see a cavalry officer wearing during the SAW period. The five buckles are present and functioning properly. The leather tabs are dry. They could use a conditioner. One leather tab is ripped a little. See photo. I did not see any tags but I also did not undo the laces and buckles to look inside. M1872-M1874 McClellan army saddle from Indian wars
A true 1872-74 army saddle. Recent barn find and was amazed that I came across it. This is the hardest of the military saddles to find. Most were used up or converted to the 85 regs. This saddle has some unique features. The oval iron hangers just like the CW 59 saddle which changed in 85 in shape. The driven in staples were also unique since in 85 they were screw in. This saddle seat would be a perfect restoration project or a cool prop for your indian war cavalry display with firearms. Swords or insignia. The lady I bought it from said her relative rode with Custer.I laughed as I walked away, and then thought about it and said hmm.I should have asked.nah.

Surprisingly the bead work is still pretty much intact as the saddlebag itself has some damage which I've done my best to show in the pictures. Please look at them for its condition. However, the leather is not brittle and is still pliable. As the sayin goes"if this could talk" US cartouche is visible. Indian War Era Greatcoat- with dual Collectibility- first.
