Old Vintage Antique Set, Sailing Ship Cast Iron Bookends, Doorstops, #S206
Here's an old. Vintage or antique pair of book ends we received recently from a local estate here in NH. These are probably from the 30's or 40's, don't think much newer. They are cast iron and the maker applied a bronze type finish to them as part of the process. The castings have a maker's ID mark"S206" on the back if that is helpful in identifying them. They have a nautical type theme being in the shape of old windjammer style sailboats. The finish has more luster on one than the other and both have some areas where the bronze finish has been lost over time as we show in the pictures. They are relatively hefty at about 2lbs each so some may choose to use them as doorstops. They are about 6 inches tall, 6 inches wide and about 2 inches deep. That's about it. This is a wonderfully ornate c. 1885 letter holder made by the quality firm of Bradley and Hubbard of Meriden. CT. The pattern reminds me of a graceful and delicate butterfly in flight, which is remarkable considering that it is made of heavy cast iron. It measures 9 1/2" wide. About 7" tall and 5 1/2" deep. There is wear to the brass finish- as you would expect from a piece 128 years old-but no dents or damage. This letter holder could easily double as an exquisite napkin holder. 2 antique wrought/cast iron Norfolk thumb latches door hardware about 7" long
A very similar pair of antique bold handled Norfolk thumb latches The latches are 7 1/2" and 7 3/4" long. They are early 19th century. The handles have a very BOLD knurled center section. I have other latches with this same handle The thumb pieces are 3" long. The latch bar is period and is 5 1/2" long. The keeper and staples are wrought reproductions. ask questions if interested. This is an awesome piece that you won't often see. It is the only one I have had. Wagner Twin Waffle Iron in one base. Measures about 10-3/4" x 11" The paddles have the original wood handles. The base has a wire handle. Each paddle is marked WAGNER M'F'G' CO SIDNEY. OHIO PATD JULY 26, 1892. There are some remnants of the Japanning finish on the paddles- they show as black areas in the photos. I decided better to not totally remove the original finish. I did scrub the irons and then heat them and coat them with a light coat of Crisco vegetable shortening. To protect the iron. The set is clean and ready to use. This is a scarce piece. This is an excellent slant logo Griswold skillet#9 EPU. This skillet has a heat ring and carries the slant Griswold logo on the bottom. The pan is marked on the bottom with CAST IRON SKILLET 9. The Griswold slant logo, ERIE PA. U.S.A. and the product number 710 H. The lettering is particularly crisp and clear. This pan was manufactured by the Griswold Manufacturing Company between 1909 and 1929. The skillet sits flat. It measures 11-3/8" in diameter. It is 2-1/4" tall. The cooking surface of the skillet has two small pockmarks and a pinprick. And some superficial scratches and utensil marks, as you would expect to see on a vintage used skillet. This is a beautiful Griswold round cast iron griddle#10. Milling marks are still present on the cooking surface. Which leads me to believe that it has had little if any use. This old kettle is in lovely condition. It is known as the Wapak"Flat Bottom Kettle. It was manufactured by the Wapak Holloware Company in Ohio between 1903 and 1926. This is the first Wapak flat-bottom kettle I have had; you don't often come across them. The kettle is 6-1/2" tall. It is 9-3/4" in diameter. It has a wire bail handle and an assist ring. It sits flat. It is marked on the bottom with the old Wapak logo. The number 8, and a product number that I can't quite make out. There are some casting waves and burps as typical for Wapak. Griswold cast iron skillet 8 with slant logo and heat ring. It measures 15-1/4" to the end of handle. 10-1/2" in diameter, and it is 2-1/8" tall. Mrs. Potts (Lodge) Cast Iron Sad Iron and Trivet
This is a insanely cool set. There are three pieces- the said iron itself. The wood/metal handle, and the trivet. It was manufactured by the Lodge Manufacturing Company between 1910 and the 1930's, though the Lodge name is not on the set. The sad iron is marked MRS POTTS SAD IRON. It is clean and in great used condition. It is heavy! The handle is metal. And attaches/detaches to/from the iron. It appears to have been painted silver. If you do not like the brighter silver, the paint could presumably be removed. There is a wood handle which is clearly vintage. There are some markings and scuffs on the wood. The trivet fits the iron. It is cut out around the edges. As you can see in the photos. The lettering says MRS POTTS CROWN IRON PHILA. There is a small crack(see the photo with the pen pointing to the crack) in the trivet; it still holds ... moresteady. The trivet has three legs. I have a sad iron/trivet set. And I use it as a paperweight. This is an awesome cool set; I am sure there are many display possibilities to show it off! Shipping: 15.00. We have many cast iron skillets. Antique Barn Pulley - MYERS O.K. H310 & H311- Primitive Cast Iron Farm Tool
Nice antique Myers O.K. Pulley. This is marked H310 on one side and H311 on the other. The wood pulley moves freely. As you can see in the pics there are a few small cracks and chips on the wood. The condition is good considering the age and use. About 10" from top to bottom and the wood wheel is about 6" across. This would make a great decorator piece and a nice addition to any collection.

It has raised relief lettering on the iron opening door that say's: National Safe" along with a star. The top and bottom are also cast iron with the top having a raised relief design and a coin slot. The sides and back are steel with a raised relief flower pot design stamped into each side. The lock works and the combination is counter clockwise 7. Clockwise 4. This old cast iron safe bank say's: Arabian Safe" with raised lettering that is part of the casting on the top of the opening door. The top side of the base on the back side say's: Pat Aug 8'82" with faint indented lettering. A hard to get photo: The bank was made by Kyser& Rex but they did not mark it. This has the original working key with it and the door to the safe opens well with it and can close and lock without using the key. All four sides have raised relief images that fit the Arabian theme of the bank and the top has an attractive Eastlake Style leaf& flower design. This is a great example of the high quality iron castings from the turn of the 19th- 20th Century that elevated every day products to what were truly works of art by the skilled pattern makers of the day. Antique Cast Iron ENTERPRISE Tinned Meat Grinder NO.10 Clamp Mount Style
Very sturdy heavy cast iron antique hand crank meat grinder marked"ENTERPRISE 10 TINNED Made in US of AMERICA" The handle lever is unmarked. Unlike most antique Enterprise grinders you find that have the 1886 or 1889. But the bottom clamp is marked 1886 on the underneath side. We have not seen any others that say"Made in US of AMERICA" The wood handle is painted black with paint mostly rubbed off. Very rustic condition but in good working order. The grinder has a clamp mount for easy mounting on the edge of your counter top or cutting board. The bottom clamp has the key design turn piece. It all comes completely apart for cleaning.
