VINTAGE ART DECO GLASS BATHROOM SHELF & TOWEL BAR ROD W/NICKEL ON BRASS BRACKETS
Art Deco era bathroom shelf and towel bar combination fixture. Glass shelf and rod. Nickel over brass wall brackets stamped GOOD MFG CO NV. The glass shelf measures 24" by 6" The glass is 1/4" thick with a greenish cast, rounded front corners and slightly beveled ends. The towel bar is 18" long and 1? diameter of solid clear glass. The brackets are elegantly designed and extend 6 1/2" from the wall with 2" diameter wall plates with two screw holes. Each bracket is made in two parts- the towel holder can be unscrewed. There are surface scratches on the glass shelf and a couple of flakes off the back corner and back edge. The brackets show wear and loss to the nickel plating. They could be replated or taken down to the brass- or just polish what's there and love the history and timeworn surface. Bathrooms of ... morethe era rarely had the luxury of any room around the sink. This would have hung underneath the bathroom mirror and been used for toiletries with a couple of hand towels hanging below. Welcome! I have always loved combinations of fancy colored diamonds with white diamonds and combinations of yellow with pink gold. This Retro Art Deco or earlier period pin is solid 14K gold in yellow or green gold with pink gold and even some white gold. The diamonds are an older cut and are perfectly mounted with the larger diamond. I think it was.65 carats, in the center and the smaller white diamonds framing it. The white diamonds are set in white gold, which is traditional, and the champagne diamond is set in yellow gold. The setting is stunning and there are three colors of gold in this pin. The set diamonds make up the center of the flower and the petals are represented by the two colors of gold petals. The total weight of the diamonds is 1 carat or more. Clasp is 1" inch long and a half inch wide with clean bright natural(from the earth) rubies in pink gold with two matching pearls to the double strand, and matching earrings are 3/4" long and a half inch wide with clean bright natural rubies and a matching beautiful pearl in each earring. All are in excellent vintage condition without problems. I had the pearls restrung and haven't worn them since. They are from the Art Deco or Retro period and are top quality pearls with excellent nacre and luster. The ruby and slightly pink gold is classic from that period. Antique Art Deco 1937 87th Annual Ohio State Fair Superintendent Medal 2 Pieces
Here is a neat old medal from the 1937 Ohio State Fair. The piece is printed 1937 and has the words 87 Annual Ohio State Fair. It features an art deco style version of the goddess of farming. Ceres/Demeter. The original satin ribbon is pretty much deteriorated but some of it is still connected to the piece and is a bit tarnished. The top part of the original ribbon is a metal rectangle pin-back that reads: SUPERINTENDENT. It is separate from the bottom half but the metal is still in good shape with only minor spots of corrosion. This medal measures approximately 1 ⅝” x 1 ⅛” on the bottom portion while the top section is 1¾” x ⅜”

I have had this rare Smiths Sectric 1930's clock in my collection since buying it in a sale at a newspaper office in 25 years ago. The original mains movement had been removed and replaced by a more convenient battery movement before I bought it. The back of the clock face behind the movement has had a slight recess chiseled out to fit the battery movement. The numbers and hands are in brass. IMPRESSIVE walnut 1930's ART DECO striking mantel clock ENFIELD
This attractive Art Deco mantel clock was discovered along with several other items from the 1930's in a recent property refurbishment. I will be listing the other items over the next week or so. This is a clock of undoubted quality being made in London by The Enfield Clock Co. The clock has an 8 day movement which benefits from striking both the hour and half hour on a gong. Both the original pendulum and a key are present. The walnut case. Which has interesting contrasting inlays and a centre panel to compliment them measures 13"x 9"x 6" and is in good condition. Testimony to the fact that it has clearly been cherished by it's previous owner. The striking mechanism operates correctly and the timekeeping is accurate. This superb lamp base is one of the more sought after"volcano" shaped pieces decorated in tones of green, cream, beige and brown. It is from the Harmony ware range and was designed by Eric Slater, this new style was introduced by Shelley in 1932. The range became so popular that there were at least 25 painters involved in the production, each piece has its own unique design and this is a very unusual example. The piece was designed as a lamp base and is not a converted vase. The lamp has no chips cracks or crazing. There are a couple of areas were bits of paint are missing, I suspect ... morethis is wear and tear from handling to switch on/off, see images 3& 4- marked with an arrow. It has the 1925& 1940 green backstamp. There is an incised number 920 which is likely to be the shape number. It stands 9.5 inches(24cm) high. Chrome Bakelite Art Deco Moderne Streamline CHASE Minerva Vase Rare Machine Age
Up for bids is this very rare chrome and butterscotch bakelite Chase vase. Item reflects the popular art deco style of the day with the streamline design. Item is vintage. Dates to the 1930's. There are no dings that I can see anywhere, but there is some wear and spots on the chrome. The interior has discoloration from use and being filled with water. This is a nice addition to any art deco or CHASE collection. Item bears the centaur mark on the bottom. No cracks in the bakelite. I normally do not part with any of my art deco items, but I am selling off my collection to pay off some medical expenses. This is a scarce piece and they don't come up for auction too often.
