This is a very rare beautiful collector's piece. It is a large antique relish dish or ice cream bowl, measuring about 10 1/2" by 9 1/2" and 3 1/2" high. The bowl is marked H&Co. L(Haviland and Company Limoges. Ca. 1876-1889) Considering the age the piece is in amazing condition. Showing no sign of wear. Usage nor damage. The dish is in the shape of a large leaf and is very artistically decorated. It is hand painted on the top with light green. Light pink and hea vy gold all around the edge. The stem of the leaf is painted dark green and brushed with gold. All this under a shiny glaze. The bottom of the bowl is decorated with large pink roses. Green leaves and brown stems. Each stands 10-1/2" tall. About 9-1/2 inches across top including faux handles, and over 5 inches wide. The decor features hand painted pink peony flowers, a fine scalloped rim with gilding. The bottom of the charger is marked D& C France, which should date it to between 1894-1900. The artist's initials appear in pink& appear to read M B or B M. The plate measures approximately 12 5/8 inches wide, 1 1/2 inches tall when on it's side. The charger is heavy& weighs approximately 2 lbs 1.6 oz. The charger is in good antique estate condition; no chips. Cracks, or repairs. Antique Limoges 7.25 inch Plate that is hand painted with nuts and autumn leaves by Pickard Artist Howard Reury. Reury is listed in Pickard book and was quite a prolific artist for Pickard. There is no mark on china that this was done through Pickard at all. There is minimal if any signs of wear on gold- see photos as the plate was lovingly used. There are no chips cracks or repairs on plate but there is an imperfection on bottom of lowest nut that was present before painting. There were imperfections in plates back then. Antique Hand Painted JP Limoges Dish Artist Signed& Dated 1901 Description ~ this lovely 8& ½” decorative Limoges porcelain handled dish is hand painted signed with artist initials and dated 1901. Done in pastels that is heavy in the use of pinks featuring floral bouquets of mums over greenery and bordered with gold trim over a very ornate porcelain mold. Very tastefully decorated with a fine balance and aesthetic appeal Condition ~ is excellent; there are not any chips or cracks in the porcelain. The colors are bright and full. The gold rim does have a couple of very small spots of fading& lifting. In the very base of the dish there is a small manufacturing defect that was artfully covered by the artist. This can be felt more than seen. Measurement ~ 8& ¼” length x 4& ¾” width ~ ornate octagon/oblong shape ... morewith handle. Artist ~ This is signed with the artist initials and dated 1901. Very faint in a pink hue that must be looked for. I did my best to reflect this mark through photos. Please view carefully. Marks ~ this beautiful plate bares the Jean Pouyat(JP) factory stamp that was used from 1891– 1932. This porcelain blank was hand painted by the amateur artist and dated. Artistic Value ~ Excellent use of space Good form and realistic depiction of the floral motif Fine steady hand in the hand painted gold trim Wonderful color palette featuring a great depth and light. Very well done Limoges Porcelain in the second half of the 19th century: The world exhibitions stimulated competition and development for the factory. That is why. As of 1851, the objects were marked, so that they could be recognized by the thousands of visitors of the exhibitions. The expertise and technical knowledge of the factories were undisputable. This listing is for a Limoges/ Sevres Watering Can. We sent photos to a china expert in London at the High End Bonhams Auction House to have a look at this Watering Can because it resembled an 18th Century Vincennes watering can which they sold for 79.000 thousand pounds or $129,000 US. They were very kind in that they replied to our enquiry and this is the reply that we received: Thank you for contacting Bonhams and sending a photo of your porcelain vessel. It is hard paste porcelain(you can tell by the glassy look it has in the light) So it cannot be Vincennes or early Sevres, but it seems to be a later imitation of earlier 18 th century porcelain that the Limoges factories made during the end of the 19 th century. As such. we are unable to help you sell it. This is a beautiful piece of porcelain and with this information it is most likely ... morecirca 1890-1899; the lid has chips to the flowers on top and one side(on the inside) lip of the flange that holds the lid in place is missing- there is also a firing crack just at the spout of the can- please see photos. We do believe that. Even if this is a 19th century reproduction, it is quite rare as after extensive research. We could not find any information or examples of a similar watering can anywhere over the internet- other than the one mentioned above. The can measures approximately 6 11/16 inches tall(without the lid) or 7 7/8 inches with the lid with a width of 8 3/4 inches and a weight of 1.9 pounds or 734 grams. Beautiful. Delicately handpainted WG& Co. Limoges Vanity Tray, c. 1913, bearing a Mark 3! What a find! This gorgeous antique tray has been hidden away for the last 30 years in storage. Clearly marked with the date 1913. As well as the WG& Co. mark, it also bears to other identifying marks: One is a P13, the other appears to be an"8" pressed into the porcelain on the bottom of the dish. Pink floral design with gilding around the upper edge and handle. This tray is 10 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" from the handled edges. It is in excellent antique condition, without chips, cracks or crazing, and the gilding is bright without showing any wear signs. W.G. Offered for you collecting enjoyment is this beautiful large hand painted antique Limoges tankard. Made by the Jean Pouyat Limoges company in Limoges France. It bears the JP over L France makersmark that was used between 1890-1932. It is hand painted with diffrent types of grapes on the vine with fall colored leaves. Up for sale is one lovely antique white porcelain double egg cup made by Haviland& Co. of Limoges. France. It has very pretty delicate sprays of pink flowers with green leaves that are scattered around the interior and the exterior of the egg cup. It is 3 5/8" tall and the rim is 2 3/8" across. This egg cup is unmarked, but the marks on the bottoms of the other egg cups(all sold) in the set date the piece to from 1894 to 1931. Here is a very beautiful pair. small and large) of antique French pitchers. They appear to be Limoges Pitchers. However I'm not 100% certain, since I'm not familiar with all the Limoges markings. The base of these pitchers only seems to have numbers painted in RED.which would match the time frame for these pitchers. These in particular date back to the early 1920's.which WAS when Limoges marked their pieces in Red ink. These are 2 matching pitchers.one is much larger than the other. They are hand painted in a beautiful rose pattern. I've also been told that these MAY have been painted in a 24K gold trim. I have not have these appraised or tested for that. This is a nice antique Bernardaud& Co Limoges porcelain Ovington Bros cup& saucer that is a green base color and has gold floral decoration. In pretty nice shape as the pics show with no nicks or chips but it does have some minor wear along the rim of the cup to the gold and it comes exactly as shown. Beautifully painted floral decoration inside and outside, with transfer gold borders motif(both on the inside and outside top rim) The bright white details in the flowers are slightly raised enamel. Measures about 10" in diameter rim to rim and about 4" tall. It is large enough to use as a centerpiece bowl on a medium size table, as a large serving bowl or simply to display and admire. Fully marked on base as shown in photo. Porcelain by D&C France, professionally decorated by L.Bernaudaud& Co. Limoges. Not an amateur piece. CONDITION: No problems. But it is a older piece, so please expect some very minor signs of use, likely a few light ... morescratches and the like. Wear to the gold is very minimal. Delinieres& Cie(D&C) opened a porcelain factory in Limoges in the late 1870s. The factory was sold in 1900 to Leonard Bernardaud. Who had worked at D&C. In this case, my best estimate is that the porcelain white wear blank was made by D&C in the late 1890s. White ware blanks after 1900 usually are marked B&C, rather than D&C. Professionally decorated by L. Bernardaud& Co either at that time or just after the turn of the century. If exact dating matters to you, please do you own research. Antique Bernardaud B & Co Limoges Pearlescent Basket Vase Handled E.H.B. 1917
For your consideration we are offering an antique 1917 Basket Vase with Handle made by Bernardaud& Co. of Limoges. France. This basket vase is made of white ceramic porcelain with a hand-painted design of gold doves. The edges of the vase and handle are gold trimmed. The bottom bears the green mark which dates its production to the early 1900's. It reads"B& Co. with"France" beneath. It also has the initials E.H.B. and the date 1917 in gold. Not being experts in porcelain or ceramic ware, we have looked this basket vase over closely and find it to be free of chips or cracks. There is vey minor wear to the gold trim along the perimeter. The doves' ornamentation appears to be in very good condition for its age. Overall we believe this vase to be in excellent condition. Dimensions are approximately 5 5/8"L ... morex 3 1/2"W x 4 3/4"H. This is a heartbreaker! An absolutely gorgeous antique gilded flow blue serving bowl or tureen with its original lid but it has a chip on the exterior lip of the bowl. It is marked as being made by M. Redon. Limoges, Special” and the pattern is raised with heavy gold gilding as well as a delicate lacy filigree on the edge. The lid is in excellent condition. The unfortunate chip on the bowl(see photographs) is 3/16" by ½" Of lesser note, there is a faint white-on-white interior blemish or shallow chip and some gold wear on the upper edge of the bowl. Flawed, but a still an impressive, presentation piece of porcelain. The bowl is about 10" by 7⅝" 12" including the handles. The lid is 10¼" by 8" POLICIES: All items are sold as is.
