Antique platter and serving dish Description: White porcelain with fine gold edging with heavy gold on handle areas. Manufactured by Delinieres& Co. D&C) France 1894-1900. It was decorated by L. Bernardaud& Co. and imported for the Higgins and Seiter Store of New York City. Higgins and Seiter was one of the best and oldest china houses in New York City. The store filed for bankruptcy in 1915 and ceased operation after 50 years in business. History: Bought by A.D. Sturdevant. American Portrait and Floral Artist( 1855-1936) Remained with family until 1993. Mrs. Sturdevant was active in the 1880's-1915. She was adept at all mediums, won Honorable mention at the Paris Salon and one of her paintings is hanging in the Governor's Mansion in Albany, NY. Offering a rare H&Co. Haviland& Company) Limoges France butter pat. This lovely butter pat has hand painted flowers in various shades. The backstamp on this item dates it back to appx the 1880's. It's in wonderful condition. You would never guess it to be that old. Since it's made of high quality. Limoges porcelain, there's no crazing, and there's also no cracks, or chips. It does have a very, very slight roughness to the rim where it meets the table. This butter pat is not flat. It's somewhat like a tiny shallow bowl, measuring 11/16" from bottom rim to top rim. Antique H & Co L France, Haviland Limoges Serving/Vegetable Bowl with Cover
This is a stunning serving/vegetable bowl from the 1890c. The logo on the bottom of the bowl has an L(see picture) this is indicative of the age. The L was used on items manufactured from 1888 thru 1896. The bowl has no cracks or chips and is in terrific shape(especially considering it is over 100 years old. The gold trim is 23 carat gold and doesn't appear to have rubbed off in any of the areas used. I am not an antique expert. But it doesn't appear to me that the bowl was ever used- it was inherited from my mother, who in turn inherited it from my grandmother. This is a fabulous piece of antique Victorian jewelry! This is a very large hand painted brooch depicting a beautiful young gypsy girl. The painting is done on an oval placque of fine Limoges porcelain. Her necklace and hair decorations have been accented with porcelain jeweling. Giving her a three dimensional quality. Her face is both sultry and innocent. A heart hangs from the ornament in her hair, and her sleeve has a cascade of six pointed stars. The detail is wonderful, from the row of stitching on her shoulder, the beaded fringe on the front of her dress, to the pearls in her upswept hair and dangle earring. The back has the number 23 inscribed in it. It does not have the Limoges stamp, but I have seen these brooches listed in price guides as Limoges. This large piece measures 3" from the top of the folding bale to the bottom and ... moreis 2 1/2" wide to the pin end. It is set is a gold filled cameo style bezel setting with a fine rope twist. The porcelain is in excellent condition and free from chips or damage. The setting shows some areas of discoloration, which is minor. The thin gilt metal surrounding the porcelain has a waviness which smooths easily. The clasp, pin, and bale are in fine working condition. It can be worn as a brooch or pendant. This was probably worn as a waist pin during the Victorian times. The huge size of this piece can be seen compared to the cameo. This is a treasure! I am selling a Antique Jean Pouyat Limoges France JPL Victorian Woman on Swing Porcelain Vase as seen in the photos below. I bought this and several other antique items I will be listing at a local estate sale filled with antique items. I don't normally buy this sort of thing but it was just so unusual looking I had to get it. I looked up the mark and it's Jean Pouyat Limoges. Apparently the mark was used between the late 1891 and 1932, so this was made and hand painted in France sometime during that period. It features a beautiful woman sitting on a vine swing, while 2 cherubs swing her. The other side features a floral design with what looks like a golden harp. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or other damage to it. Haviland Limoges Antique Plate LEACH Coat of Arms Crest Signed Weston 1885
This extremely rare plate depicts the Leach family crest and has in inscription on the back that reads"F.E. Weston to Grace F. Leach. Oct. 19, 1885. In addition to the inscription, the plate carries the mark for Haviland& Co. Limoges. Both the inscription and marks are under the glaze. The plate is white with a dark peach color surrounding the crest. The crest is finely painted in gray and black on white with accents of metallic gold and red. The plate is 9" in diameter. It's in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. This is an exceptional piece of history for anyone associated with the Leach or Weston family name. This porcelain coffee cup and saucer was produced in France by Haviland Limoges in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. It is an over-sized cup that is quite ample for morning coffee. The set is factory decorated with a factory transfer of 4 leaf clovers and various other summer flowers. Description: This auction is for an antique Limoges France T& V(Tressemann& Vogt) 1892-1907 mark. Porcelain shaving mug, hand painted by Cecilia R. Lewis in 1914 the south side of PA. The mug is monogrammed with the initials that appear to read TMF. It has a gold hand painted rim& handle. lovely pink rose flowers all around it. The previous owner left notes on many of her estate pieces, I will leave the note attached(tape) to the bottom. The T& V Limoges France green mark is on the bottom, along with the artist's initials C.R.L. I have more of this artist's fine pieces that I will be listing. The mug measures approximately 3 3/4 tall. 4 inches wide across the rim, 3 7/8 inches across the bottom. The mug is in good condition; no chips. Cracks or repairs, some wear to the gold rim& handle paint. UM Antique Ornate Cracker Jar Biscuit Barrel Cobalt Gold Roses Nippon? Limoges?
We have been on a buying trip and we are listing new items as quickly as we can. We will be listing them daily as time permits. Th ese pieces are nice. You won't be disappointed. We are always happy to co mbine items. When possible, so buyers can save on the shipping costs. This is a cracker jar. Or biscuit barrel. Basically. It's what a cookie jar was before we had supersized meals. Don't think chocolate chip cook ies bigger than a dinner plate; think animal crackers. Usually we tell you who made an item(Nippon. Limoges, Austria, RS Prussia) But, this time, we just can't tell you exactly who made it. The painting looks like Nippon, and we can find tons of items painted like this in our Nippon books. Likewise, Limoges& Austrian items can be found with this shape, the"plume-looking" blown-out bottom and area around ... morethe lid. We have seen cups and chocolate pots with this design. Since Japanese potters of the Nippon era were trained in the European style and imitated the work of Limoges, RS Prussia/Austria and German pieces, this is just a stab in the dark for us.but we think lots of you collectors will know! The crac ker jar is white. And as mentioned above. The lower area of the jar has a blown out plume or acanthus leaf design. This design is repeated around the inner part of the lid. The handle on the lid, the rim areas of both the lid and jar have an irregular cobalt area. There are handpainted pink and purple roses with green foliage painted near the cobalt areas. The"plume-like" areas have smaller pink and purple flowers. There is gold! Oh yes, if you are one of our regular buyers, you know we love gold! Gold flourishes are painted over the cobalt areas. Gold outlines the leaves/plumes and outlines the areas where the blownout part of the mold begins. There are also gold flourishes in the white area of the jar. This thing is gorgeous! SIZE: It stands about 6 3/4" high to the top of the handle on the lid. The opening of the jar is about 4 7/8" across. MARKS: No

ANTIQUE HP LIMOGES B&H FRANCE PORCELAIN CHOCOLATE DEMITASSE CUP& SAUCER SETS This auction is for 2 beautiful chocolate or demitasse cups with saucers. The 2 porcelain cups& saucers are antique and both are marked/stamped on the underside in green. The 2 cups have a round green stamp on the underside that reads- LIMOGES B. H. FRANCE& also another difficult to read green stamp with a 7 pointed star with LIMOGES above and FRANCE below it. The saucers have the same green 7 pointed star mark and also in green is Blakeman& Henderson& under that Limoges France. The diameter of each saucer is about 4-7/8" the cups are 3" high& the diameter of the top rim is 2-1/4" The underside of one saucer has a very minor chip and I have pointed this out on one of the images. It does not affect the saucer at all. The ... morecups& saucers have lovely hand painted florals and gorgeous gold accents! As expected there is some slight wear to the gold but it certainly does not detract from the appearance of these antique pieces. There is also an inherent slightly dark green very thin line on one cup that does not detract from the appearance& I mention it for accuracy.
