9 3/4" Diameter. This spectacular Cabinet Plate is antique Limoges porcelain manufactured and factoty decorated by c. 100 years ago. It is double marked bearing both the Deliniers white ware Mark 3 and the rare Deliniersdecorator's Mark 5 in red script.The plate though it's 100 years old it may fairly described as in Excellent Condition. As you know cobalt and gold were among the most expensive raw materisal used to decorate the plates. In addition. Manufacturing them was very labor intensive; it is similar to the"Fleu de Four" firing process attributed to Haviland in France. If you look closely. You'll see an ombossed, pearl-like pattern in the Limoges clay that has been heavily gilt with gold creating a beaded effect.Delicate, hand applied enamel highlights glisten on several of the pink rose petals. this plate ... moreis superior exaple of antique French Limoges porcelain. This is a beautiful tray or cake plate. Marked T.V.LIMOGES FRANCE(TRESSEMANN& VOGT, ca. 1892-1907) and bearing also the decorating mark of the PICKARD Studio. The plate is hand painted and signed by the artist JOHN LOH, who worked for Pickard between 1898 and 1912. John Loh signed himself"Poppy John" at one time. Since his work was mostly focused on poppies. Many examples of his work are pictured in the Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard. The plate measures 10" in diameter and 10 1/2" with handles. No Limoges collection is complete without one of these: a condensed milk container and underplate. The container has a hole at the bottom for an easy extraction of the glass jar) The pieces are marked D.Co. DELINIERE. Mark 3, ca. 1879-1893) and they are signed on the bottom by the artist. The outside surface of the 3 items is completely hand painted and decorated with berries and foliage in vivid colors. The handles are heavily gilded and the edges are also gilded. Considering the age the set looks amazing with no sign of usage. It is rare to find a set of 3 pieces in close to perfect condition like this. No chips. Cracks, repairs nor discoloration. The Limoges blank is from La Porcelaine Limousine and was decorated in Sherratt’s art studio. The largest of the 3 is 21" x 13" x 2" The medium size is 16" x 9' x 1.75" and the smallest is 9.5 x 5.5" x 1.25" They all have wear on the handles. However no chips cracks or crazing. I first want to explain that in the United States from the 1870s until World War Two the biggest hobby in this country was painting on porcelain. You had amateur painters. Professional painters, professional porcelain decorating and painting studios and some American poreclain potteries ... morehad their own decorating departments. One crucial piece of knowledege you kneed to know is that the vast majority of this porcelain artwork done by American porcelain artists was painted on blank white porcelain imported in from other countries, You had French Limoges porcelain, Bavarian porcelain(and it was its own state from 1806 to 1918) German porcelain, Austrian-Bohemian porcelain and some came from Nippon(which is Japan) and other Far East Asian countries. The reason for this was the United States was still in its infancy when it came to porcelain production and the imported porcelain blanks were much less expensive then our own American porcelain blanks in most cases. Because of this a common mistake is to attribute antique American painted porcelain as to being painted in the country on the backstamp. There was a law institued in 1891 by the United States requiring all goods imported into the U.S.A. to have the country of origin on it somewhere. Therefore we have an abundance of antique hand painted porcelain by Americans on blanks marked from another country. We have an amazing find in this gourgeous antique Limoges tray or charger from the Jean Pouyat factory. It has been painted with a spectacular Lily design by William Lycett(1855- 1909) One of the most important late 19th century American china decorators, and bears the mark of his Atlanta studio(established in 1883) William Lycett was himself the son of Edward Lycett, another prominant pioneer in American china decoration. William Lycett's work is represented in many museum collections including those of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum. Lycett limoges pieces are rarely available and this example is in very fine condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, displaying only expected wear to the gold paint around the scallped rim and some areas of discoloration that have not impacted the Lycett design. He provided instruction in china painting to amateurs and employed professional decorators to embellish imported porcelain blanks. Antique Hand Painted Limoges France Master Bowl Blue Pink Roses Description ~ beautifully decorated with hand painted roses over a robin egg blue and framed with raised gold scroll work. The exterior body is in a full soft blue and touched on one side is a bit of foliage that is in an impressionist style. The interior is encircled with lovely bouquets of finely detailed pink and white roses under a border of gold scroll and painted dots that work into the gold trimmed rim. This fantastic Limoges bowl is large and probably a master to what was once a set of berry bowls. The Limoges porcelain is very fine in a simple shape that is translucent when held to the light. Condition ~ is excellent. All the colors are full and bright, and there are no cracks or chips. There is very, very slight scratching inside the bottom and a small dot of stray ... morepaint in a couple of places. The gold is full other than one edge that is very slightly faded, this is a must look for. Mark ~ Green underglaze mark the reads GDA underline with France underneath. This is a mark that was used by Gerard. Dufraisseix and Abbot from 1900– 1941. I believe that this bowl was produced and hand painted sometime between 1910 and the 1930s due to the style and color. Up for auction is a lovely antique white porcelain 9 1/4" tray made by Haviland& Co. of Limoges. France. It has very pretty hand painted brown and white birds sitting on a brown branch with white blossoms that have red centers and green leaves. The scalloped rim has a gold accent. The tray is 9 1/4" by 8" and the rim is raised to 1 1/8" The mark on the bottom dates the piece to 1887. The condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Antique Cup (No Saucer) with Beautiful Floral Design, Limoges?
This lovely cup is just 2 5/8" high. And its top diameter is about 3" The design features pink and yellow flowers, possibly peonies. The body of the cup has swirly lines and raised dots. The porcelain is very fine, thin. No chips or cracks, only slight loss of gold on the lightly scalloped rim. Markings: impressed is the No. 111 or 171. No names or country of production. Possibly made in Germany. 1910. Bottom diameter is 1 5/8" this would be the size well needed in a saucer.

Up for sale is a lovely antique white porcelain factory decorated 9 1/4" diameter round plate made by T& V(Tressemann& Vogt) of Limoges. France. It has very pretty delicate sprays of pink roses with green leaves against a green and white background. The rim is scalloped and outlined with gold. The marks on the back date the piece to from 1892 to 1907. The condition is good with the exception of light utensil wear marks and some loss to the gold at the rim. There are no chips or cracks. Antique GDA Limoges petite lusterware bowl with gilded chrysanthemum border RARE
Up for auction is an exquisite turn-of-the century petite porcelain bowl. Which was made by GDA in Limoges France. The piece measures about 4.5" 11cm) square and features an opalescent lusterware glaze. The border has a scalloped edge with raised relief chrysanthemum style flowers in each corner, and is heavily gilded. The GDA mark, standing for Gerard, Dufrasseix& Abbot, is stamped on the base with the country of origin, as well as a large incised"B" for the artist. I believe this company took over one of the Haviland factories at the end of the 19th century. Overall the piece is is good condition for its age with some minor wear on the gilding, however the reverse, or underside does have two chips, not visible from above, and may be seen in pics 5 and& at 12 and 10 o'clock. JEAN POUYAT(J.P.L. Limoges, France, Marks 5 and 9(1891-1932) and"c.1851" hand painted in gold. Hand painted 10" cabinet plate with pastel poppies on a shaded green background. There is a gold decorative medallion in the center of the plate measuring 2-1/2" in diameter. The glazed finish is shiny and free of scratches. No chips. Cracks, crazing, or repairs of any kind. Some age wear of gold gilding(at about 3 o'clock, pictures 1& 10) on one side edge. This cabinet plate has been in seller's family collection since the early 1900's. Jean Pouyat's father. Francois, operated a hard paste porcelain factory in Paris from the early 1800's until 1840. Jean Pouyat established a company circa 1842 at Limoges. Jean Pouyat died in 1849, and the business was carried on by his sons. Circa 1883, the company was ... moreknown as La Ceramique. The Pouyat company joined with William Guerin. Ca. 1911. When the Guerin firm joined Bawo and Dotter after World War I, the Pouyat marks continued to be used until the Bawo and Dotter company closed about 1932. Reference Mary Frank Gaston Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Second Edition, Copyright: 1992. The most desirable pieces have been hand painted in Limoges factories or decorating studios in Limoges or Paris. With at least two marks: one under-glaze factory mark and one over-glaze decorating mark of the factory or studio. This beautiful poppy plate has double marks. Indicating it was factory decorated: An underglaze white ware mark in green(Mark 5, J.P.L. France, 1891-1932) a green wreath intertwined with pink ribbon and a pink bow, with"J. Pouyat, Limoges, in gold(Mark 9, 1914-1932) inside the wreath. In addition to Marks 5 and 9, c. 1851" is hand painted in gold on the back of the plate. Since Marks 5 and 9 date from 1891-1932, I believe that the"c. 1851" was painted on the white ware when Jean Pouyat's sons took over the factory after he died in 1849.

This is a set of 5 very old Higgins and Seiter salad plates made in Limoges. France. They have little pink and yellow roses with purple flowers in gold filigree cameos around each plate. The lightly scalloped edges are rimmed in gilded gold. They are marked Elite Works Limoges France, Hiffings& Seiter, New York. The condition is good to very good. The gold filigree cameo swirls have rubbed off in many places from use. One plate has a small chip on the underside by the rim(photo 4) Not noticeable from the right side up. This piece is clearly marked, weather the mark is correct is anyone's guess? mark reads, decore a la Main a Chantilly" in red with a red" hunting Horn mark in the middle. there is also a green" Limoges France" mark. the box is 3 1/2" tall, 2 1/2+ wide and 1 5/8" deep. it is beautifully decorated in the Chantilly style.
