Size 7(resizing available) Not cheap silver electroplate! This is a high-quality. Solid sterling silver designer ring manufactured by one of America’s leading semi-custom mount manufacturers. NOTE: Resizing is available(may incur nominal extra cost depending on size required) DESCRIPTION: Early in Rome’s history silver(and gold) came from Spain via the Phoenicians and their colony of Carthage. Partly motivated by a desire to control that trade. Rome engaged Carthage in three wars(the“Punic Wars” In fact father of the great Carthaginian General Hannibal was not only himself one of Carthage’s most famous generals, he was also a precious metals merchant. The Romans virtually deforested the entire country of Spain making charcoal to smelt silver and gold. When the silver in Spain began to play out, in 55BC Rome’s Julius Caesar invaded Britain, in part to acquire the rich silver deposits there. The Romans were the first to mass-produce coinage on a monumental scale, the first truly monetized society. Between 100 and 400AD the Romans produced billions of silver and bronze coins. At the height of the Empire. There were over 400 mints producing coinage throughout the empire. Silver was also fashioned into Greek-style jewelry. The chief centers of production were Alexandria, Antioch, and Rome, to which Greek craftsmen had migrated. Celebrating that heritage, here’s a gorgeous, high quality sterling silver semi-custom sterling silver ring. The ring is robustly constructed, much more substantial and heavier than the typical ring band. Please do not confuse this with cheap silver electroplate. This is a high-quality ring manufactured right here in the USA by one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of gold and sterling silver semi-custom mounts. It’s an heirloom quality ring designed and produced to last a lifetime…and beyond! HISTORY OF SILVER

TRANSLATE Arabic Chinese French German Greek Indonesian Italian Hindi Japanese Korean Swedish Portuguese Russian Spanish The First Crusade by Steven Runciman. ... moreDESCRIPTION: Softcover: 201 pages. Publisher: Cambridge University Press; 2005) When Pope Urban II rose to his feet to address the multitudes gathered before him at the Council of Clermont in 1095 A.D. His appeal was simple: let Western Christendom march to the aid of their brethren in the East. Whether the Crusades are regarded as the most tremendous and romantic of Christian expeditions or the last of the barbarian invasions, they remain one of the most exciting and colorful adventure stories in history. The reasons for joining the Crusade varied widely; remittance from penance, a desire to see the Holy Places, or greed for the power and booty to be captured in the East. But the prize at the end of it all, be it spiritual or temporal, of the Holy City of Jerusalem. An army of mounted warriors. Traveling with peasants, merchants and artisans, faced a journey over hostile terrain, meeting with unforeseen antagonism, desert heat, and the constant struggle to feed and water their troops and horses. Their journey's spectacular culmination was the long siege of Jerusalem, at the end of which the Crusaders, by a brilliant tactical maneuver, broke down its defenses and poured into the city which erupted in a bloody massacre. Steven Runciman's"History of the Crusades" is justly acclaimed as the most complete and fascinating account of the historic journey to save the Holy Lands from the Infidel. This abridgement makes accessible to a wider readership one of the most compelling historical narratives. CONDITION: New oversized softcover. Unblemished except VERY slight edge and corner shelf wear to the covers. Pages are pristine; clean. Crisp, unmarked, unmutilated, tightly bound, unambiguously unread. TRANSLATE Arabic Chinese French German Greek Indonesian Italian Hindi Japanese Korean Swedish Portuguese Russian Spanish Antique Twenty One and One-Half ... moreCarat Hand Carved Jade Elephant Pendant& Chain. Includes 24 inch gold electroplated chain(or silverplated- your choice) Vital Statistics: Weight: 25 1/2 carats. Length: 21mm. Height: 17mm. Thickness: 15mm. DETAILS: Throughout the Orient jade was known as the"dream stone" Ancient populations believed jade would enable the wearer to access the spiritual world. And was perceived as a sacred substance. Jade was also regarded as a sacred substance. It was believed to afford the wearer against lightening strikes, would drive off beasts, and helped warriors in battle. It was also believed to be an effective fertility aid, and to provide the wearer with self-confidence. In Chinese mythology the Moon Hare made an elixir of immortality from crushed Jade. So of course jade was ground up and drunken as an“elixir of immortality” believed to preserve vitality and youth. The Chinese believe that the secret virtue of jade was absorbed into the body, and would preserve the body after death. Here's a darling little green jade statuette hand-carved into an exceptionally well-detailed little elephant. We picked these up in Bombay in the 1990’s from a wholesaler who had kept them in a warehouse for decades. The carving is difficult to date. As artisans have been producing little hand-carved jade statuettes for centuries, however reliable indications suggest that this was produced in the 1950’s or 1960’s. However the art form is dying out, and this is a beautiful piece of art possessing a very rich and handsome appearance. Identified as being carved from some of the world's finest jade deposits, this particular shade of jade is highly sought after, and can be quite costly. No two pieces of jade are identical, so you can be sure that this statuette is unique. The pendant comes mounted onto a very nice 24 inch, 14kt gold electroplated chain. If you prefer, we also

Pendant, or as earrings(click for more information) DETAIL: In Sankskrit. An ancient language of India(source of much of the ancient world's ruby) ruby was called"ratnaraj" which means"King of Gems" Rubies were sorted into upper class, middle class, and lower class stones in relation to their color, flawlessness and beauty. Much like Indian society today, no inferior ruby was allowed contact with an upper class ruby because it was believed the low-caste ruby would contaminate the better one, thereby diminishing its magical powers. Ruby was sometimes worn beneath the skin by warriors as a protective talisman with the belief that the ruby would give them courage and make them invulnerable. In the ancient classical world, rubies from Afghanistan, Ceylon, and Burma were traded in the ancient port cities of the Eastern Mediterranean(often by Phoenicians) and from there traveled throughout Europe. Celebrating our historical legacy here’s a decent quality 19th century antique hand faceted ruby pear. Hand crafted by a 19th century Russian artisan. Part of an heritage renown for the production of the elaborate gemstones and jewelry of the Czars of Medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian Russia. Originally used in indigenous jewelry, this is a very pretty precious gemstone, with a highly desirable dark blood red color and rich texture. It is by and large eye clean, of higher value transparent/translucent character as opposed to lower value opaque rubies. Of course most ruby gemstones are anywhere from lightly to heavily blemished internally. An almost hallmark characteristic of natural ruby is
