Hi again. amazing original finish. tramp art/ folk art or primitive. it was made by a real craftsman and a long time ago. it will take a lot of talk to describe this wonderful old rocker. it seriously has a lot of desirable things in its life. lol. OK now. the rocking chair is old. might well date to the civil war or earlier. all handmade. all or the wood is hand turned. cut and pegged mostly. nice detailed work. the bottom spindles are hand shaved. the rockers are both original. but one day one of them came off. and they drilled into the rocker. screwed it back on and counter sunk the holes. an early and wonderful repair. i do not think the seat is original. it has horsehair stuffing coming out of the bottom. i have tucked it up and put bubble wrap under it to retain the stuffing. the top is bark cloth. it has been on the rocker for a hundred years. it has a couple of rips. but i would preserve it. you can decide when you own it. lol made for children. a little girl or boy. 2 years old or so. it is nearly a miniature and measures only. 26 inches high. spoon carved back. and all of the back spindles match and are tight into the chair. the rockers measure. 23 inches long. the seat is about. 12 inches by 12 inches. the arms are both screwed on. it is how it was done and it is not in any way repaired. but this is q
